This is one of the most useful videos I have watched and have taken note of all items for my food shop this evening. Ever so grateful for all your advice. Thank you ❣️
Excellent information. I use sliced and completely dried bitter melon and add 2 or 3 small slices my usual pot of tea. It seems to do a good job of keeping my blood sugar low. I use the East Indian variety of bitter melon which is usually readily available in grocery stores
Amazing I tried to share this to my friend who is diabetic but stubborn and ignorant he refused to eat all the ones you suggested he’s been on metformin warfarin his kidney is stage 3 very impossible man to educate! I don’t have diabetes but I eat all the foods you mentioned and I exercise daily feel great 👍
@Bly A, your comment comes across as one who is frustrated. Deal with your friend with more compassion. If you don't know him well enough to claim such a close friendship, and you truly are invested in his well-being, maybe you should genuinely try to get to know him better. As I live with a diabetic and am myself a diabetic, and as we are both experiencing different health issues associated with having diabetes, let me suggest an altered viewpoint of what may be the basis of your friend's reticence. Without any further information than that which you have given, a guess is your friend may be silently dealing with other health issues such as brain fog, arthritis in various joints on various days, transient moods, neuropathy, perhaps even his eyesight is being affected. Some people with failing health feel as if there is a loss of control over one's own body. After a lifetime of running our own life, What is left that we can control? What's left that brings feelings of comfort? Answer: Food, familiar recipes, favorite music, a color, perhaps a hobby. If you truly want to "help" your friend, instead of overloading him with homework (i.e. researching new recipes, food substitutions, creating new recipes) go the extra mile for him. Get him to share with you a couple of his favorite recipes and when you bring them back, present him with a more diabetic friendly option to taste that you have created, complete with written recipe card (written in larger font for easy reading, if necessary, and possibly even a few of the new ingredients needed). Instead of bombarding him with all of your information, if he's honestly interested (and not just agreeing to appease you), assisting him in making some changes would be much more helpful and could truly be a gift to him. It is disturbing to me how, previously simple and automatic, tasks are becoming more difficult. It's also dismaying how those closest haven't noticed. Most feel justified telling me what I should be doing, but they seem to lack the ability to realize even that much may be beyond my ability some days. Deal with your friend with more compassion.
Thank you! I already eat most of these but now the list is complete! Good stuff! There's a lot of extra health benefits I didn't know about some of these foods. Very informative!
After 26 years since my dx with Type2, my HbA1C is 6.6, my meter for the last 9 months shows my average blood sugar is 106. I'm doing much better since leaving the nursing home where my HbA1C was between 9-10 and my BMI was 45. Now it's about 40. I eat much better. Their idea of good diabetic meals was a plate of pasta with thin sauce and bread sticks. Or roast turkey, potatoes with mushroom gravy and asparagus. Great for gout, right?
That's very helpful about the WALNUT OIL. My aged Dad may have Type2 with recently diagnosed Coeliacs also has great difficulty swallowing (Dysphagia) so trying to develop easy meals that my Dad can eat let alone that my mum can make is proving extremely challenging being able to use Walnut Oil to add essential nutrition (he is also extremely underweight) could be a game changer. Very difficult situation. I'm finding your reports very clear & common sense and shall share with Mom. Thank you.
@@SugarMDs Thank you - it's just how to show Mom she CAN do this - very hard as I'm a world away & stubborn is a difficult challenge. Keep making these excellent videos. Gives me HOPE!
Thank you for your kind words! I'm so glad to hear that the video was helpful for you. Managing type 2 diabetes can be challenging, but staying informed and proactive makes a huge difference. Wishing you continued health and success on your journey. God bless! 🌟❤️
since watching one of your videos on moringa I've watched alot of videos by people who have spent years studying the benefits of moringa . I now have moringa powder in my morning smoothie along with mustard seeds ,sulphorophane, chia seeds , flaxseed , walnuts and blueberries.
Love all your suggestions, thank you for being there. I was told if I get my A1c down which I’ve gotten down to 6.3 so far my neuropathy pain will be decreased, but for some reason this is not the case at the moment. I had a stroke and then found out I was diabetic and then the neuropathy set in. My A1c was originally 11.7 when I was admitted into the hospital for my stroke. I was taking your neuropathy support which helped immensely but then for some reason they had run out of it so I went and bought supplements on the side which I’m taking right now until your neuropathy support is available. I have pain 24 seven sitting hurts, sometimes I’ll stand just to have less pain four hours, but I’m only human. Feet are constantly feel like icicles in paper bags under them and my calves and knees hurt so extremely. Any suggestions
Thank you for this information I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes, and im 45 yrs old .. I woke up in the hospital the other day and they said a normal blood sugar level is 5 and I was at 50 as many Dr and nurses I ask what that means and I get no answer .. Also when I got brought into the hospital I felt like I was paralized I had no use of my feet and arms it was very scary since the day before I was riding my bike and my eyesight has gone from 20/20 to blurry everything I try and read is blurry .. Back to my reason for leaving this comment .. Since im 45 and diagnosed with diabetes in your other video you mentioned that a late in life diagnosis is harder to deal with.. Does that mean my life expectancy is kinda like change everything or be heaven sent?? I can honestly say im scared like really scared I never woke up in the hospital with tubes coming out of everywhere .. Two in my arm one in my thigh and one in my neck as being the weekend here I have to wait for Monday to be told everything
Get a continuous glucose monitor, it will help with reigning in your blood sugar. You'll be able to see how your body reacts to different food. Then go to consuming whole foods. Drop processed stuff until you get healthier. Educate yourself on a many levels as you can so you can be your best advocate with your diet and excercise. If you are in the hospital or health facility request protein and salads with extra broccoli or the like. Reject the desserts, ask for real whole fruit if you need sweet. Namaste. Live long and prosper

i suggest something very different: trying betaine hcl + pepsin. in my case even a low carb diet with enough protein does not work anymore to kill my hunger. but after taking betaine hcl + pepsin to help splitting up the protein, my hunger goes away for a long time. it seems that i now get enough useable amino acids that result in lowering hunger. also, i suspect that my gut microbiome should change to a better one to make the l cells more gpl-1

I'm sure this is all good advice - at 79, I've controlled my diabetes with only diet for 20 years, no meds. However, for my two other conditions, IBS and migraines, only five of those foods are safe. It makes healthy meal planning very difficult.

Can also get anthocyanins in purple cauliflower also purple sweet potatoes where the color is throughout the potato, unlike redskins potatoes where the beneficial red coloring is only in the skin of otherwise white potatoes.
I reversed pre -diabetes in one year. I will incorporate all of these ideas into my diet. My brother is diabetic. I had it when pregnant...I wonder how long I can keep this diabeties away if it's genetic.
Palapala K, Yes you can, by consuming plenty salads, vegetables, avocados, nuts and seeds; you can have some fish or meat sometimes and fruits WITH your meals, especially berries! You can have 2 or 3 meals a day: breakfast and dinner, or breakfast, lunch and dinner but absolutely NO snacks between! If you're having 2 meals let breakfast be the heavier meal and a light dinner. If you're having 3 meals, let breakfast and lunch be the 2 heaviest! Drink 1+1/2 -2 litres of water daily and walk briskly whenever you can. Once you continued doing all the above you shall keep it away, so you'd have to be very diligent. Good luck and God bless 🙏

Hey Doc. I enjoyed your video and can attest that your conclusions are true. I have been a diabetic since 2006 and just recently realized that the foods you mentioned are great medicines. I would like for you to do a research on the effect of coconut flour being used as a carb filler. I started using it with greens and other vegetables and proteins in March and it is a super food. My stomach is full and
i really enjoyed that video. i am going to try. i really would like to reverse my typd 2. i strongly feel if i combined exercise with those food, i will do it. i will update you.
Take diabetes seriously I got the diabetes in college and had to have two amputation in my early 50s, I finally took care of myself better and I’m so glad
I've been eating shirataki noodles several times a week. (My favorite: YUHO angel hair). I put them in with my salad or soup and they've really grown on me.

Thank you for this information! I actually like all the foods you mentioned except salmon and other fatty fish. I’ve never had the noodles but will try them because I like pasta. I could also use zucchini noodles in place of pasta. My A1C is usually around 6.2 but I’d like to see it under 6. I take Metforman 500 mg morning and night and 1 10 mg glipizide. I would love to cut down the Metforman.
I stop my Metformim it kept my stomach torn up for several years after my gallbladder operation & in 3 days I felt good again 😌 but love the greens ...
Thank you Dr for. My mother passed on last June in her sleep she had type 2 diabetes..I wish I had these information then, but I will share with more people I I guy I friend of mine also passed on in his sleep few days ago from this disease hew was only 28yrs.

I have a question for you. I have type 2 diabetes, but I have recently been diagnosed with gout. Many foods like fish and avocado are great for diabetes but not good for gout, and vice versa. What foods can you recommend that are healthy for both issues?
Loved your video with full of information which is so helpful and a must follow to all! Thank You so much fir putting up so much of your time to make these very informative videos ! God bless you!
I started eating lettuce during lunch for the 1st time (other than in hamburgers lol) and my A1C dropped from 6.0 to 5.4, and I’m 40. I even asked my wife to buy a Nutella pot to commemorate 😂
Thank you ! I've been using the vinegar for some time , helps a lot with my weight control , even appears to help with neuropathy , not backing this , but for me it works.

The Best Doctor for diabetics
High Respect from Indonesia
Thank you for this great compliment. It pays for all the efforts we put into these videos. Kind regards to Indonesian friends!
Excellent information. I use sliced and completely dried bitter melon and add 2 or 3 small slices my usual pot of tea. It seems to do a good job of keeping my blood sugar low. I use the East Indian variety of bitter melon which is usually readily available in grocery stores

Where do I get dried bitter melon from please

😂
Patatoes and mushroom ..no...

Dragon fruit and bitter melon are also good for diabetics.
Thank you.

Thank you Doctor Ahmed.
I love your videos .they're so informative and I truly thank you for your hard work!!
since watching one of your videos on moringa I've watched alot of videos by people who have spent years studying the benefits of moringa . I now have moringa powder in my morning smoothie along with mustard seeds ,sulphorophane, chia seeds , flaxseed , walnuts and blueberries.
That's great! Thank you for watching. Stay tuned for more great content!
Cannot locate Dr. Obala RUclips is there another name ?
Thank you doctor for serving us. God will definitely bless you🙏
Thank you for this information I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes, and im 45 yrs old ..
Sorry,feel better praying 🙏
Get a continuous glucose monitor, it will help with reigning in your blood sugar. You'll be able to see how your body reacts to different food. Then go to consuming whole foods. Drop processed stuff until you get healthier. Educate yourself on a many levels as you can so you can be your best advocate with your diet and excercise. If you are in the hospital or health facility request protein and salads with extra broccoli or the like. Reject the desserts, ask for real whole fruit if you need sweet. Namaste. Live long and prosper

Doctor thank you so much for your informative videos! Not only are the informative but you always give people a positive sense of hope in their life. Thank you again for all you do doctor!
I appreciate that!
i suggest something very different: trying betaine hcl + pepsin. in my case even a low carb diet with enough protein does not work anymore to kill my hunger. but after taking betaine hcl + pepsin to help splitting up the protein, my hunger goes away for a long time. it seems that i now get enough useable amino acids that result in lowering hunger. also, i suspect that my gut microbiome should change to a better one to make the l cells more gpl-1
Thank you for educating on the best food to lower, if not totally eliminate my high glucose levels! Very helpful information!! I loved it!!!

Yes please waiting gor video on above...
I'm sure this is all good advice - at 79, I've controlled my diabetes with only diet for 20 years, no meds. However, for my two other conditions, IBS and migraines, only five of those foods are safe. It makes healthy meal planning very difficult.

My brother is diabetic.
I had it when pregnant...I wonder how long I can keep this diabeties away if it's genetic.
Palapala K,
Yes you can, by consuming plenty salads, vegetables, avocados, nuts and seeds; you can have some fish or meat sometimes and fruits WITH your meals, especially berries!

I'd like to know how you feel about avocado oil. Real avocado oil. I'm type 2 and I've been using it for a couple years now.
Thank You for this I need to start over. I eat but not very much at all. I'm not getting the Nutrients I need with the right food.
I started eating lettuce during lunch for the 1st time (other than in hamburgers lol) and my A1C dropped from 6.0 to 5.4, and I’m 40. I even asked my wife to buy a Nutella pot to commemorate 😂
What does being 40 have to do with it? I am 50 and my A1C went from 7.1 to 4.5. No meds, just low carb eating.
Good job. Keep it up!
@D & H B.... Not eating lard.
@D & H B.... ummm,she said she's eating LOW CARBS...not lard.ummr...reading is fundamental
You are correct sir if you stop eating carbs and sugars your A1c will drop. My A1c dropped to 6.0 from 6.7. I am a 66 yr old female.
