Saw queensryche in the early 90’s when the played the entire operation mind crime album in concert! Was insane, plus suicidal tendencies opened. Man what a great time for concerts!

Well, he was the primary song writer in operation mindcrime which is still considered one of the greatest concept albums of all time. He is the sole writer / composer of silent lucidity which was tgeir highest ranking song ever, was nominated for a Grammy and is still played almost daily on radio and XM stations nationwide. Since he left, they have never had the same success with fans or the music business, as far as I remember. If I’m wrong, please correct me.
@@jimmyz171 he mostly retired after leaving the band helping write music. He was sick of the touring schedule
@jimmyz171 he hasn't accomplished much.. he quit music and is a commercial pilot.. that doesn't mean he wasn't at least a massive part of the original magic of the band..btw go back and listen to DeGarmos backing vocals.. amazing..
Geoff is one of the best voices of rock in my time. Will always hate that they broke up.
There's not way you can replace the original band ! His voice is amazing , they have their own place in music , but lead guitar and drums , base from original days , magical... my favorite band

I have always loved this song. Probably my favorite off the album and EVERY song on Operation: Mindcrime is awesome. I hate that I missed the Operation: Livecrime tour but I had it on VHS and still have it on DVD. Believe it or not, the quality (both visually and audibly) was the tape!

@@oakenshanks It's funny because I have no use for the debut album at all. EVERYTHING about it is trying too hard and misses in most departments. But Rage for Order is a true masterpiece. From "Walk in the Shadows" to the harmonies on "Neue Regel" to the ultimate stalker song "Gonna Get Close to You" to a song written in the eyes of a being a computer that has feelings but no way to communicate them (AI will fix that and then we're all fucked!) "Screaming in Digital". "I Dream in Infra Red" is also so damn good!

Love Geoff Tate, we have all heard the stories about the acrimonious breakup between him and the rest of the band of Queensryche. I really don't care who's fault it is or was it just sucks for us fans because they were one of my favorites growing up. I know the 2 sides are still putting out music but it just isn't the same to me and that just sucks. I've heard the new singer for Queensryche is good in his own right so I'll have to just keep an open mind and give the new rendition of the band a chance.
It is a shame. But Todd does a better Geoff then Geoff does at this point in time. And the latest Queensryche album gives them their own identity now. It's a really solid album.

I love Tate, myself. He’s probably my absolute favorite metal singer. But QueensRyche sounds more like QueensRyche with Todd LaTorre than they did for the last half of QueensRyche’s career. Tate’s voice wasn’t the problem. It was the direction he was dragging the band in. Kinda weird that both iterations have gone back to their well in seperum.
Queensrÿche only got signed in the first place because they brought in Geoff Tate. He is the voice and personality of the band, and the current Queensrÿche lineup just feels like a coverband when the key members are all gone. Tate, DeGarmo and Rockenfield. Those three were the x factor in the band and they are all gone... Geoff's band sounds more like QR today
@@MichaelHolmgaard you haven't listened to the new Queensryche CD if u think they sound like a coverband. The latest CD definitely forges a unique identity for the group yet still retaining the Queensryche sound. You are right, they don't sound like Tate QR any longer. And Tate QR stopped being a great band the moment DeGarmo left. I would much rather listen to the current QR than Tate QR without DeGarmo.

Who is singing with Geoff? I have an idea. Geoff still is one of the the best singers and writers out there I was lucky enough to be in the PNW when he and band were making things happen and very fortunate to see him on on his own as well QR both good both brought back good memories.

Drummer and guitarists are really top notch musicians. Sounds so much better than the band from 4-5 years ago. But he needs to drop his daughter on this song. She never had an ounce of her father's talent and it sounds cringe...
I think he's probably not having to pay his daughter what he'd be paying a better singer to tour with them to perform 1 song. It is what it is. She's not great, but gets the job done.

I love Queensryche, Geoff is a hugely talented entertainer, but Geoff, lighten up on the theatrics during performance, a little is great, but not this much.
Geoff still got it , but that guitarist on the right needs locking tuners nothing worse than seeing someone tuning constantly and lack of giving a crap ,poor girl singing ain't the same vibe either 😢

Just bought the same drum kit for my son he is five hope the drummer saves his pennys up and buy a DRUM KIT even a jazz drummer would be embarrassed to play that kids kit CRINGE

She is terrible. Wrong voice type and super pitchy too. He has also lost a bit off the top but that is expected with age. He sings around some holes in his changed range. That's OK. His energy is still very good and no one will be able to sing this material well, other than Tate. His voice still has power and his characteristic resonance and humongously wide vibrato he is known for. He still has it. Daughter should stick to pop or folk.

Getting older does that. You hear he isn't in his prime anymore and that has gone. But still he manages to sing brilliantly and many would die for a voice like that.
