Geoff Tate was the first metal vocalist at my first Concert ever. Queensryche opening for Dio, both groups first tours. Queensryche were so new I hadn’t even heard of them. Everyone was completely blown away. I couldn’t believe how great the band was. They all wore black and came out with fury opening with Queen of the Ryche. Geoff Tate was special. That was immediately apparent. He’s always been a refined, classy person.
You touched hearts with that gift Geoff. Excited to see what you have to share in the future. You never been afraid to sing about what you wanted to,remember that when you start to write again. Have fun and tell us all about it.. lol Sending best wishes for restoring health and healing to you.
I was born mid 60’s found a love of music from 1974 .. My first album was Desolation Boulevard by The Sweet. I loved most bands 10cc was a major impact on my life .. I started music lessons in 1994 , late I know but nevertheless I was immersed in music from that time onwards.. It wasn’t until the late 90’s early 00’s my friend told me if you love music I should check out Queensrÿche.. Who I asked ?? Well the rest is history for me .. I think their music will never be surpassed.. Genius to be exact.. What a voice!!

Once again, you nailed it with your line of extremely thoughtful and insightful questions. One thing that I think often gets overlooked with singers and song writers is their lyrical phrasing ability. It's one thing to have an incredible voice and to have well crafted lyrics, but it's another thing all together to somehow strategically and consistently inject a melodically lyrical inflection at an optimum level. This guy has that gift without a doubt. Thanks again for such an excellent interview !

I'd love to hear Promised Land in its entirety live. It's Queensryche's last masterpiece, IMO. Their live performance of the title track on the Promised Land tour was awesome. I get what Geoff means, though, by an introspective album not going over as well live as something more 'outward' like Empire, etc.

Seems happy.. not grouchy or passive aggressive like he's been in last few past interviews n I'm glad bc now I can like him again bc I was really starting to not like him.. n that really sacked bc he's 1 of my all time favorite musicians and vocalist. Glad to see he's more thankful again n not acting like a rock star queen. He used to be so humble n polite... glad to see it there again a little bit more.. 👍

Guy strikes me as being honest and authentic.
Just saw Geoff Tate at concert here in Finland and it was an amazing show. His has great musicians in his band.
