Thank you for this. You made my night. I just finished listening to Empire CD, then started backwards to Operation, and this was playing and I googled for the voice of Sister Mary, she was the voice of sexuality when I listened to it as a 15yrs old kid. I went to catholic boarding school and was in love with a nun as a child lol. And Pamela's voice always took me back there ;) I love this album for the past 30yrs. I have a listening range from Slayer to Princess Chelsea. Operation Mindcrime should be considered in the top five with The Wall as #1 for concept. It always came across as a movie to me visual. Rock Opera in its fullest form and it should be a film.
Loved seeing Geoff duet with her during the original tour... Amazing seeing Geoff, Chris DeGarmo and Pamela... New singer is fine but seeing the original tour in a massive arena setting was f'ng amazing!💯👍
Really there is no dispute I love them all past, present and future. Music should have no enemies. I will say however this brought chills and tears to my eyes my favorite band EVER no one else can cause this emotion. Todd is doing a fantastic job being himself!!! Pamela and the others words cannot express how happy I am to see you all!!!!
Queensryche is back! Got goosebumps on that one! Todd is as near to GF's voice... So what? Start celebrating that Queensryche is back to the game!! And stop hating around with your comments here!
I watched the latest "Die Hard...blah" at the theater. I watched Bruce Willis sleepwalk his way through the movie--smirk, mug, and basically flip off the audience with indifference. I watched that movie and HATED IT. It reminded me of the last decade of geoff, and I'm sorry to say I have that name on me. On the most beautiful positive! This video and Pamela Moore who sings as great or better than ever and Todd singing together. So very awesome and beautiful. Thank you to the Real Queensryche!
It's not a cover band if there are three of the founding members in it. As amazing as Tate was, tension within the band was apparently too high for them to continue working together.
Only two founding members are in the band now, sadly... They are playing here in Detroit tonight, but I can;t make it. I hope that they come back in the summer, they are so good with Todd in the band...
In response as to why Scott had a laptop near him....usually the drummer is the one who starts off a song when playing live. He will usually bring up the track intro or add an extra , (something that you usually hear on the recorded version and something they try to simulate live). He's not the first nor is he the last to use a laptop on stage.its also used for sequencing tracks or fading into and out of a song.
Hell, even Neil Peart, one of the greatest drummer ever, used a Mac Book to program his electronic drum set, and his tech uses it for other things during the show.
how can you not like this.?... no cowardly downtuning, ..performed in its original tuning , actually performed and not just run through , phrasing perfection.......the vowel placement of these lyrics to sing is extremely difficult and these two class acts pulled it off to almost perfection ..,,,,,,,give em there dues ,,,these two cared enough about this classic track to at least attempt to do it right .....and obviously delivered .
A more accurate comparison would be between Todd now, at 39, and Tate when he was 39. When Tate was 39, the band had just released "Hear In The Now Frontier." The defense rests.
And THAT is how it's done! Todd is the real deal folks. I was there last night and it was even more spine-tingling in person. Thanks for posting the video Dave and it was great to meet you last night!
@@tlansing18 just see it this way: Does the Tate of today resemble the singer from 40 years ago? No! Is Todd better than the Tate of the 80's? No! But I'd rather have someone who's a little younger that could do all those 'Ryche classics their long overdue-justice. Let the has-been do the kind of music that he wants while still performing the very songs he himself claimed to have fallen out-of-love just so he could grab money from you dumbass loyalists of his, and let Queensryche go back to their very roots with a singer who has more passion to what made Queensryche as it is in the first place.
@@tlansing18 they were also younger when they made Mind Crime. You can’t deny the talent and the fresh energy he brought to the band and the older songs.
I see here in the comments one more time people judging a good vocal performance by the high notes hit. Grow up, folks... a good singer is not made of high notes, not even in heavy metal. To sing will always be about technique, interpretation and voice.
That was beyond epic... I will give credit to Tate on one thing; Thanks to his "once" great vision, artistry, and lyrical skills we have masterpieces like this to enjoy forever and eternity. However, thanks to Todd La Torre and QUEENSRYCHE, we can now, once again enjoy explosive LIVE performances of these masterpieces! \m/__O__\m/
I saw Mindcrime in 92 with Tate. I saw them again at Penn's Peak a few years ago with Todd. Why compare them. They are both amazing! I seem to remember a little band called acdc having to replace their lead and both lineups...fantastic. I'm older now, so I have grown up with Tate...but I think Todd obviously works his ass off.
Let's see how great all of you sound when you're pushing 60 years old. I have had the privilege of seeing the original lineup twice, the last time was in 2000. The band was tight each time, and Geoff hit every goddamn note perfectly. It was flawless, like watching a fish practice swimming. I don't think the majority of you can say you saw them twice, and I pity you. The new guy they have sounds okay, but he's basically a karaoke version of Geoff and he always will be.
You've apparently never seen them live with Todd on vocals. He sounds exactly like Tate sounded in the heyday of the band. Tate couldn't even sing the really old stuff the last time that I saw him, but Todd does it effortlessly. Tate is one of my favorite singers, of any genre ever, but he just cannot sing like he used to, which is no slag on him, we all grow old.
This is truly phenomenal... Not to mention Pamela Moore KILLS it: beautiful, talented lady. This is how this song is MEANT to sound. Somebody is gonna choke on their wine when they see this, haha! :)
I agree, Bruce still kicks ass, tho he can't hit that top c anymore but no body expects it now and even his solo stuff was great. Also he runs around on stage like a mad man, which is always a bonus, not bad for a 54 yr old;)
I'm sure i saw FW back in the day, either at a euro festival or on a support slot. Re Maiden, I think they played the Dianno related stuff at a different pitch with Bruce from 82 onwards until he came down an octave in the latter years. I do recall Harris stating with Bruce's range they had more places to go. Strange really coz Dianno many years later began to find a higher range.
Great song, but the best thing is that they played the new songs. Some fans will drop out for sure, but the inflow of new listeners and so many ex-fans returning ... when 's the last time THAT happened?
In Honesty You Have the Give This Guy Props for At Least Trying. The Point of the Matter Is the Matter What Jeff Did to Make Them Mad They Should Not Take Them out of the Band Because He Got Them to Where They Are Today His Voice Only Brought on Followers and Fans. And My Opinion Is a Ms. Justice That Mr. Moore Is Going to Try to Get Famous on Someone Else's Legacy Music.
I usually find it impossible to follow a favorite band that has changed singer, but this is an exception..queensryche were a band in a coma...De Garmo's exit seemed to be the end of the band...I hoped that Tate would carry the burden, but he was disappointing in every aspect, he couldnt even sing the old songs...Congrats to la torre, it takes huge balls to take Tate's place and do a great job..I admire the old Tate, who still gives me the chills when I listen to the old records.Too bad he let go
EXACTLY. As a singer ages, the voice darkens, extremely high notes get harder to hit, but there's no reason for the kind of degeneration Tate's pipes have experienced. In fact, operatic tenors don't hit their vocal prime until around 40-45.
No chemistry quite like w/ Tate, but it's great to hear & see Ms. Moore w/ the group again ~ She is definitely "In A Class All By Herself"!! Admirable!! Peace
Tate was one of his influences and he has said that on many occasions. He is going to try to be as true to the classics as he can. I don't see the problem with that. One the new album here are times where he sounds similar to Tate, but many where he just sounds like Todd.
The drums are performed flawlessly. Bass too. Backing vocals too. The main vocals could benefit from a little bit of reverb, but other than that, this sounds pretty darn good for a crappy microphone, and odd room acoustics.
Absolutely fantastic! Great to see Pamela back on stage with the band, great video!!
There is only 1 Sister Mary, and that right there is her^
I close my eyes and it's 1991 again...Sounds great. Wish I could have been there.
Still love this! Pamela went to my High School! Awesome talent!
That was F'ing amazing! I would have been in heaven standing where the cameraman is standing. What a performance! Todd didn't miss a beat.
Same here... I quite literally had a huge grin on my face the whole time I watched this, and that just doesn't happen with me.

The Queensryche I used to love IS BACK!!!! one word: AWESOME!
I cried a little bit!
Pamela is AMAZING
Guy's doing a great job of handling Tate's vocals
Definitely, but seeing Geoff and Pam and Chris DeGarmo in an arena setting was f'ng amazing!💯

Awesome. Got goosebumps!
It was so awesome to see Pamela up there!!! Great show!
Excellent video and like I said before there is only one Sister Mary and Pamela is Queen. Amazing performance !!!
Listen to Pamela's vibrato! Like it hasn't been 25 years!!
Perfect Karaoke.
Oh Pam!
This song hasn't been performed this well in over 20 years.
Todd and Pamela both sounded great!
Thanks Ravage!
thanks for posting...and thanks steve jobs for inventing such a live-recording capable i-phone ;-)
he didn't invent the smartphone, he didn't invent the video recorder.
Todd La Torre is breathing LIFE back into Queensryche... Check out "Rejoice in the Suffering", his solo release with Craig Blackwell....whoa !!! 😎
Some people cannot handle their own press ... Tate's just one of them. Excellent rendition of a great song. Thanks for posting.

Queensryche Official and Pamela Moore! Accept no substitutes!!!
Wow, this is awesome! Great quality video, thanks for the upload!
Love Geoff and Pamela
I'm hoping this version of QR lives on cause the Tater version sounds like a bad cover band.
Yes, years later your hopes came to fruition!
was a epic night
I'm so glad Pamela went to Michael Wilton Queensryche. Without Mike, it ain't Ryche!!!
Oh.My.God. Epic is the word. Intense!!

Give me a break. Todd is hardly pushing the vocal strength that Tate had when they first created mind crime at the Moore

The REAL Suite Sister Mary is on stage with the REAL Queenryche!
I say this , I win I get new music from 2 groups.I'm not going to criticize none of them because they have the balls to do it and go out and perform
Great job!!awesome song!from Finland \m/
