    You were the man!

during covid since all brands were running low on stock Nakamichi had a abundance of supply so we sold a lot of them to keep up with traffic. We nicknamed these amps and their radios "Konichiwatts" They always over exceeded power levels. Out of all the Amps and radios we sold only one single din returned with BT connectivity issues.

Back in the 90s, me and my buddy used to go to all the stereo shops and look at everything. We went to a hifi buys In Melbourne Village, North Canton, Ohio. They sold mostly high-end stereo equipment and mostly theater home type stuff. They had brands. In the car audio arealike zapko ground.
Zero and Nakamichi. Anyways, they had a Nakamichi. Amplifier slightly bigger than the one you show. I'm pretty sure they were made in Japan at the time, but it was pushing 215 inch ground 0's like nothing easy work.
    I was very impressed.

glad to see nak redeem itself, back in the day nak's were top tier class A amps with head room for days, my 100x2 bridged peaked a over 500w which was a lot back then but also cost a lot at about $600 but then Nak disappeared for a while and came back with total garbage amps so it's nice to see them come out with amps that have some headroom again....

Nakamichi used to be a high-end brand before being bought out by Grande Holdings. They made some of the best SQ quality products for home and mobile audio. Those days are gone and only the name exists, the quality doesn't.

Knew a guy who drove a Lexus sedan around the early 90s. Nakamichi was the oem supplier for a number of those vehicles' sound systems and source units. The cassette player also controlled a 6 disc CD changer located in the trunk. The cassette player was honestly one of the cleanest players I ever heard and would seriously make anyone cast aside any doubt as to cassettes being low fidelity.

Weighs a ton, has internal cooling fans, and performs perfect even after nearly 30 years. New Nakamichi? I doubt it has any of the build quality that made their name stand out. It's too bad. Awesome video as always, thanks Joe.

Not looking to have power for 2 more weeks. Our house and trucks were spared, or lives were spared, so I feel blessed. Glad to be able to watch your vid this morning on my cell. Nakamichi made high quality stuff back in the day, but like most well-regaurded brands, they get purchased by an investment group or large corporation and sell random, cheap electronics on name brand recognition. Very few popular brands we all are familiar with, are still privately owned by those that started the company and built it from the ground up. Don't execute me if I'm mistaken, but the ones that come to mind are Orion, JL Audio and Rockford Fosgate (though Jim Fosgate no longer owns it). I miss the days when amps were built in the USA, using high-quality components, but don't miss the high prices that they commanded. For example, in 1994 a Punch 45HD sold for $279. Thats roughly $300 for 100 watts. That Nak just tested is $100 for 800 watts.

The lithium is 56AH and has 250A max charge via the BMS, so I'm wondering what fuse size would be recommended between my isolator and the lithium?

that max power stuff is an asian market stuff thats why most amps and speakers that had that kind of ratting were asian marked target, like nakamichi stuff, only more old school guys know the brand now days, and its starting to come back again outside asia, but if you notice nakamichi allready has a nice market in there, and dont know why but asian guys like big numbers even if they dont mean nothing like the "max power", but for those who know and care they give you the rms ratting, and its nice to have a well built amp doing rated power for a nice price....
