I'm a fan of both color greens. But if I bought both, I would want matching color greens
Naka was bar none along with Eclipse back in the day. Miss that kind of quality.
so for 100% clarification i could run both my kicker c10’s at 4 ohms 150watt rms?
must be a class d amp thou.
Yes
That's a slick looking amp. I like the darker green. 🔥 🔥
Thanks WD!
Great stuff Joe, glad to see it!
Thanks Brock!
Nice!
We have 2 25A fuses so its going to be 500 max which will be fine class A/B ill run my 4 door speakers from this VS a class D for richer/fuller sound its definitely preferred im just happy its a modern day AB amp vs one of my old amps that i risk popping a cap and cooking
Great buy Dustin
Looks good sounds good great power great price !! You found a good house to make your products 💪
@@JimmySimpkinsJr thanks Jimmy! I can’t argue with that! Thanks for the support!
Power Acoustik and Precision Power are the same thing. Just rebadged
Nice choice in amp
Thanks!
This amp would look great in my set up. Very clean looking amp
@@RomaVilla thank you! It is pretty slick looking!
you must have been reading my mind when you decided on the features of this amp, none of the little 4 channels ever has the 2-4 ch input mode switch, and the switchable dc sensing turn on feature. great job! glad i held off on buying something else
@@RavenousBitchProductions lol! Yes, it’s got some cool features! Thanks RBP!
@StereoMojo- Between 7:48 to 7:53 in this video you mis-spoke about the crossover freq. range. You say [50 Hz to 50 K=(50,000 Hz)], this would be 20,000 Hz higher than this amplifiers rated highest freq. of 30,000😁! I thought, man that crossover point is higher than any amplifier ever😉! My old eye's could not see on your amp, if it showed 5k, or 50k. Then i seen in your manual that the highest is 5,000 Hz=(5k), that makes more sense. Great video, & Great compact/powerful amp, another great choice by you. Oh, & i really like Green & Black, like Kawasaki color's!
@@evilinside5984 lol, good catch! I’ll have to go back and look. Thanks for the feedback on the colors. I love some line green! I had a ZX6r in lime green back in the day. lol!
The mic did not sound bad, but the overall volume was lower. When you went from your intro, and then you started speaking, I had to turn the volume up a little bit so I could hear you. But the sound was fine, it was just a little bit lower.
@@Stoneman1971 thanks Allen! When I noticed it, I was like “oh crap, don’t tell me I’ve gotta re-shoot this whole video”. lol!!
This is your brand? Correct-
@@christiandshatto7765 yes, Welsh Audio is my brand. I’m not making them of course. I get them from the factory that makes them in China.
I thought for sure you would've went with black and red 500.4D , I've gotten samples from that whole line and they all do great. Wishing you all the best !
Hey Phil! Yeah, I just wanted a small, class D amp. The smaller amps in that lineup are class a/b.
Wow nice ❤❤
Thanks Marco!
@stereomojo question? Did you ever have the Welsh WA2k on sale that I might have missed out on?
@ let’s see…the best deal was the Black Friday deal. It was $10 off and I threw in the lugs, heat shrinks, and ferrules. And it’s always cheaper to get one on my website too. That would’ve been the cheapest, except for getting one from me locally. Because then, I don’t have to pay for shipping.
The darker green looks awesome
Thanks Jimmy!
To cover shipping.
Dustin!! Thank you so much!!!
@@stereomojo It's the little details that widdle down your bottom line, I'll just front end help it if I can, ya know...
Well, I gotta say the music test sounded really good on my KEF C series mid-drivers... 😁 Have you already shipped mine ahead of time knowing full well I'll be placing an order? Pretty sure I've mentioned having a WA 500.4 for the last year or so, glad to see it finally come to fruition. If you don't mind adding an autograph and build # again, I'd surely appreciate it. Again, amazing content and awesome equipment! Thanks Joe 🦾 BTW...I prefer the lime green, but any green looks good
Dude, you bought the 1st one!! I always keep #1, so yours will be #2. Your WA-2K is #3, so pretty cool! I reached out to the guy that bought the 1st WA-2K (#2) to see if he still had it and if it was going strong. He said it was doing great, but that he sold it to a buddy. Your support has been amazing!! Thanks Dustin!!!
@@stereomojo So is mine. Sadly the truck never recovered from the crash, and after uninstalling all my equipment noticed my WA-2K had taken a hit from something during the collision and put a dent in it ( I had a ton of equipment back there). I'm now working on a new build in a 05' Honda Accord (new work truck, lol) and out of pure coincidence was looking at upgrading my current 4 channel for this install, when like magic you post a video with the WA500.4!!! Oh Yeah, bring it! Have to agree that the 1000.4 you tested a little while ago might have been a bit much for my build, but would be great for others with multiple drivers per door. Great opportunity to build both. Thanks again and I'll be keeping an eye out for the package.
oh boy, haven't even watched the video yet and I can already tell where this is going..before long you're really gonna make me do it...I'm gonna have a stack of Welsh Audio amps ready and waiting in the closet for years to come 🙌😀
@@chancebales lol, that’s funny! Thanks for the support Chance!!
@stereomojo you deserve it and you're welcome..btw just my 2 cents...I like them all,but the darker green is where it's at..looks beautiful take care
@ thanks for the input and support Chance!
@@stereomojo you're welcome
Too bad you didnt post thing yesterday. I bought a new 4ch just last night.
This thing makes me wish i was still in the market for a 4 channel. Absolutely tiny, yet powerful. I think that the switch (2ch/4ch) is only for whether you have all 4 channels of rca coming into the amp, or you only have two. Like with my headunit, it only has rear and sub rcas. I'm curious to know what the unbridged power is per channel.
Thanks Triple J! Yeah, I know that 2 channel mode is all that’s required when bridged. If you only run 2 rca’s in 4 channel mode, it’s very possible (I have tried it yet) that it still works, but you would lose the ability to fade and balance all 4 channels.
@stereomojo you'd always have balance control by nature of it being left/right input, but yes fade is lost in two channel mode. I was trying to emphasize that the input switch has no real relation to bridging the amp. That's determined solely by how you wire the speakers. That switch is just for if you have all 4 channels going in, or just 2 available. The switch just internally connects ch 1+2 and 3+4 rcas inside the amp. So you don't ever have to use y jacks to populate all 4 rca inputs
This amp isn't bad, it is exactly the same as another company that I won't name out of respect for your business. I've heard them in action and they are actually incredibly loud even for the wattage they make, and no noticeable noise or anything. Also it has the ct 600.4d board, you can verify that if you open it up 🫡
@@Mrapplesauce96 yes, that’s exactly right! Thanks MAS!!
@stereomojo yes sir, good amp that's been tried and tested for sure, as long as your price is good hope you can sell a bunch of them for the budget bassheads out there!
Yeah, thanks a bunch! And they do 600, but I wanted to be conservative on the ratings.
i was thinking the same thing, wouldnt want to get slapped....😉
I was hoping it'd match my gen 1 wa2k. Lol
@@jamesvarner758 lol, I understand. Thanks James!
I prefer the lime green to the darker army green but both look good.
Thanks RR! I like them both too. Just thinking ahead on what I wanna do going forward, as far as the shade of green.
Awesome video , what a great amplifier !! I literally wish I hadn't purchased my recoil 4 channel now .. however, I am going to be doing a 4x8" subwoofer build in a Chevy Silverado for my buddy soon and definitely plan to install one of your wa - 2k amps for him 😊
@@ChrisRichardson-v6c Sweet! Thanks Chris!
@@ChrisRichardson-v6c just wondering, which version of the WA-2K do you like better?
@stereomojo The o.g. my guy , love the atheistically pleasing style and the green color myself
@ ok, thanks! You are certainly not alone. I sell more of the original version still. That has surprised me!
@stereomojo there is no fault in performance on your v2 or "red" amp. I think it's simply just personal preference on the finish look. You are hands down my go to for amplifier dyno and also how I help others to decide on what would work best in their application. Not many in my local that can offer useful information to the audio enthusiasts. I always recommend them to join your channel to review and learn as well !! Keep it up man, your definitely doing great !!
I absolutely love that little amp! I can't help but think you were talking about me when you stated people keep asking you for something smaller in 2 or 4 channels...lol I am absolutely impressed!! I'm gonna have to order me one now! And when I do, I'll need you to sign it for me too, please. Btw, the D4S sub I ordered is on its way! It'll be here by Tuesday! I'll post it on my RUclips when I get'er all installed to show everyone. ❤️👍🏻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Yes, you’re right Chris! And at the end of the day, I had to agree. That other amp was cool, but this one is much more practical. If you pick one up, the website would save you quite a bit of money. eBay will charge tax and it’s more expensive to start with.
Algorithm comment 👍
@@Stoneman1971 thanks Allen!
Did you say in a different video that you decided not to sell the wa8k because it only did 2300 watts or did i hear that wrong?
@@justinkelsey9218 you heard that wrong. My WA-2K does 2300
@stereomojo oh good I was worried for a moment because I think my gravity warzone elite 7.5k has a similar board
@ lol! No, the 5K and 8K put out big power!
@stereomojo i saw your dyno on the warzone fullbridge 5k and when I saw an open box warzone fullbridge 7.5k on ebay for 299 I had to get it
@ nice! That should be a bad boy!!
Good job
@@grayhelium513 Thanks Gray! My new video will drop at 7am central tomorrow!
Came across a few of your videos on these budget amps while looking for a budget amp for a sub that requires 500 rms watts. So aside from all these budget amps that you don’t recommend, what budget amps would you actually recommend for a 2 ohm subwoofer that requires 500 rms watts. So far I’m thinking about a used Alpine MVR-M500 as per your video where you tortured it. But what new amps ($100 or less) would you recommend?
@@ubreakitirepairit3569 hmmm, if you’ll shoot me an email to stereomojo@yahoo.com I’ve got a couple of great budget options on hand for sale
Ive had mine for 2 yrs now and blew almost a dozen 1500rms+ custom build subs and had zero issues. Resets everytime and worth every penny
will this bump on a 500rms 4ohm 15in sub?
Man I wish i would have bought this amp over the stinger 2000 watt amp. This is $100 cheaper. Oh well the stinger amp still performs excellent. Great video btw super helpful. I bought the ze1000 for my niece and was impressed for $80 dollar amp. The only minor thing i was not a fan of was the bass knob has no bracket to screw it on. The double sided tape keeps falling off lol so it just sits in her cup holder.
The nakamichi 800.1 puts out 1200 dynamicly. This amp here is garbage. Its not even available anymore. The 800.1 is less cash and way better power, dead ass.
Thanks for the amp dyno video!
@@gibranlapham4470 thank you!
This amp is $100 on Amazon right now!
I will not buy another d4s amp or a taramps amp for my personal needs
I got a jp8 for my sons two custom 12's which are probably 1200 watt subs. And it was cool but i got a jp13 and man they came alive!! And i have a JP23v1.5 on a old school power hx2 15. Ive got a jp234 and a mini max 504 that i still gotta get hooked up. But so far, i love the jp amps.
That's a hell of a deal on that amp and although I'm using a empty 1000.1 on my Sundown 10 I can't use that 4 channel on my front stage it's just too damn powerful. That's a great problem to have though
does my alt have to have more amperage than it pulls on the meter? might just be a dumb/noob question just curious when i need to start upgrading electrical
Yes, but you can get to about 2000 watts before you start having problems
Yes, but you can get to about 2000 watts before you start having problems
Pioneer has some of the most significant R&D in the industry and it's located in Japan. All the GM-D series amps have excellent build quality, strong PCBs and oversized power supplies. They made the mistake many years ago of "whoring" out Pioneer to everyone selling anything and it took its toll on the brand. They pretty much tucked and ran from the US market with the really great products and have yet to return to their glory days of dominating much of the U.S. car audio marketplace. If you want to see what Pioneer really can do, check out their Asian and European lines/models, simply some of the best car audio around.
GP are the ones that sold you the subs they should be the ones making it right.
Keep the mat👍🏼(jp8 has a better, quieter fan too, imo:)
Absolutely most frustrating thing ive tried in a while everything ive ordered hasn't worked and you didn't link anything in your video except your eBay page.
Working on my 3rd baffle box also. Should be sturdy and allow less flex 💪
... "Glad we had 4 gauge for all that current... " 😂😂😂
