Great videos, good information and put together well ... I will definitely watch more! I had a very similar opinion on the JP amps until this last one. I bought a JP84 and was very impressed, it sounded great and has awesome output. Then I bought a JP8 and again was super impressed and really good output ... awesome features. I decided to get some subs that needed a little more power so I bought a JP13 during one of their sales. I did not take out of the box for about 6 months because I did not yet have the subs. I was very excited to try it out and had high expectations based on the last two. I got the subs on Christmas and installed the JP13. It has the same footprint as the JP8, so it was a pretty easy install and all the wiring and cables were already there. It would not correctly turn on once ... the power light would light up, then about five seconds later the protect light would turn on. I double checked everything and everything was correct. I never even got to hear the output once. They sent a return label and they have had the amp since a few days after Christmas. It was my mistake for not testing it right when I got it and I was outside the 30 day window to return it for a new replacement. I just never would have thought that would have been necessary. It is really unfortunate now though because I will end up with a brand new amp that has been repaired by some tech to who knows what standards. I have also started hearing more and more similar stories. I really liked the other two, but this experience has kind of tainted my opinion. Hopefully they will eventually get the repair completed and the brand new amp sent back so I can finally try it out for the first time. The amp dyno I saw on the JP13 was impressive so hopefully it works out and does not fail on me.
@@gibranlapham4470 aw dang, that stinks! Hopefully it’ll be a nice repair, so that you won’t be able to tell it was ever touched. I’m interested to hear back on how it goes. Thanks for the support and the kind words!
Nice amp and 👍 bass knob too. Great video as always. Only potential problem I saw was that the cooling fan was mounted on the bottom. This could be restricted if the mounting tabs of the amp got bent or if mounted on a carpet surface. If it were me I would mount it with a spacer like 5/16 nut on each corner. This would allow for xtra space for airflow. (May have to use longer mounting screws). The WA2k does not have this issue and is still my choice above this amplifier. Even though this is a good designed amp that doesn't require as stiff electrical system and is a lower output level amp. Great video as always 73 and GOD bless Earnest K5EWM 👍.
Thanks Earnest! Yeah, when my Son had his JP53 in the Tahoe, the fan wasn’t even circulating any air once he set the amp down on the carpet. We would’ve mounted it to a board if he would’ve kept it. Once again, thanks for the support!
The original JP 23 didn't have a plexiglass bottom... he used to sell that separately. The JP 8 v1 was just blue with the plexiglass bottom. Both had the awesome bassknob but not shaped like the amp and colored like the amp. The difference in the JP8 and the 1.5 is the color and badsknob that looks like the amp... from what I've seen. What I've always wondered is if a JP8 and a version 1.5 can be strapped together without issue. Great videos.
When I came across this amp it reminded me of your new color Welsh amp .......BP-1500.1D Monoblock check this Domanki amplifier out thank you for all you do
Did you hear about D4S bringing out "beginner" subs that RMS at 500 watts? Their being released tomorrow. I think I'm gonna get one of their 10s to replace my Adire "Koda" 10in sub. My Koda is only rated 250 RMS. I'd love one of D4S amps, just for that bass knob!! 😅 Great video buddy. 💯
Yes, I did hear about those. I like PJ’s entire sub lineup! Let me know how it goes if you get one. I’ve thought about switching out those Skar 12’s that I always show. Some D4S subs would be cool to switch things up. Thanks Chris!
@stereomojo if you're talking to me, the jp 8 only comes with wired. I would only want the wired one personally. Knowing the Amp temp was nice, I knew when to give it a break. Finally had to point a fan at it. I've owned both a jp8 and jp23 v1.5. Loved both.
I’m still heartbroken over the 5k and 8k. I actually like the 5k better than the 8k. It’s such a weird thing I ran into with those. I still want to do a 5k, but nothing is in the works right now. I do have something new coming out as we speak though!
For this price id go for the taramp hd 3k it's been redesigned and is much more stout it's not as fragile as it once was do u have any experience with taramp hd 3k ?
@stereomojo yeah the newest model hd3k is good now my buddy John has a RUclips channel called subs @ paws and he's tested and reviewed around 75-80 different model subs and he does videos in his house powered by the new hd 3k and he hits over 4,000 watts all the time with that amp as long as the sub he's demoing can handle that kinda power.
Honesty and objectivity are hard to find in this industry. Appreciate your videos man. And your attention to detail

That amperage it pulls is perfect for stock electrical also. Great amp in my opinion.
Yes, this is one of my favorite amps on the market, especially for stock electrical!
I grabbed one during the D4S 12 days of xmas sale for $129 👍 Great amp!
@@mattburgess2 Dang, what a deal! That’s a great amp at a great price for sure!

Yes, that’s right!
Loved my jp8. Mine had a plastic cased bass knob, and it didn't have a cooling fan.
@@jamesvarner758 oh wow, did it have the clear bottom?
@@stereomojo yes. It had a cutout for a fan, but no fan. I was wired to .67 on 3 sundown e series 10s. It would overheat if I wasn't careful.
I put the original JP8 blue in my wife's truck with a Skar SDR 12x2 preloaded box and that amp gives them all they want. CanNOT complain.
That’s a pretty good combo right there!
Between me and my step son we have 3 mini max amps and they are all great amps.
Nice! Which models are they?
@stereomojo mm1004 mm1000 mm1500kfd
I grabbed another of these during their sale! Totally forgot I could strap it with my other one. Hopefully mine are both 1.5

Once you use that bass knob, you'll love it, and miss it if you switch to something else. Went from jp23 v1.5 to a Ruthless Audio 10k. Miss the knob
@ are you talking about the Bluetooth knob, or the normal one?

@ yes, I agree. We’ve enjoyed those knobs as well.
Original JP8 had plastic bass knob, 1.5 had the look alike amp aluminum. They are definitely little power houses!
Yeah, I agree! I love the JP8!
When is the welsh audio 5k coming out?
Aw man, maybe one day, but nothing in the works ATM
I love my jp23v2 and jp13, I'm looking for a amp around 4 to 5k wish you had your 5k available are you still planning on offering a 5k
