Awesome vid as always ! 🎉 Day 9 after Helene and still no power, but my wife and I have our lives, our home, and our vehicles. I've been donating my time, my chainsaw, my 4×4 and other tools to help neighborhoods around me where people are still trapped and cant get out due to tree's in the roads. Bless everyone affected and definitely those less fortunate.
Oh I’m excited to see this one. I saw the thumbnail and I was like oooowwee! I was considering picking this up yesterday to be a placeholder just until my main amp shows up. I hope this video doesn’t disappoint lol
Oh yeah.... Heads up - Power Acoustic the 1000 watt OverDrive (2 chan full range) runs very hot but it hasn't shutdown or anything. And I have it on the 4 midbass 8s (Harmony 140 rms).
I haven't viewed the video yet but let me guess, you will be looking at the amp for the first time with me!! 💯💪. Im always tickled every time you say that lol. Love the channel my AL neighbor. Keep it up. FYI, i think you would like the NVX 8k. I got it for 420 on Amazon. Its been great thus far. I have over 20 amps. JL HD, RD, JP amps, old NVX amps, JBL amps, infinity amp, JL slash amps to name them off the top of my head.
It's about 10 cents per watt which is in line with other bargain amps. It actually used all 150A of the fusing whichbis good. Some brands try to fool you. The components look well glued down. No filtering on the power and ground input terminals. Seems pretty average. Did you test it's sound quality? It's funny, I thought Belva was a Eastern European company, but it's actually American. Maybe in Kentucky.
That crossover looks to be less than a 12 db curve. Most likely they went with a cheaper crossover network to knock costs down. That can be good or bad depending on what you’re looking to do. Good for someone looking for cheap and quick to get music in the ride. Bad for longevity of the components and could cause mudiness in the sound if there’s phase/time alignment issues The RTA is definitely a great option to show that. Great video.
@@JasonWW2000 to me, the slope on the RTA appeared to be a very gradual roll off. More towards the 12 db or less side of the curve. 18 db has a much sharper roll off and will sound much better when phased and aligned properly. I prefer the 24 db linkwitz-riley slope for better separation, but that’s just me. It may also be the rta as well, but a more precise rta and way more money invested would show the curve frequencies with greater accuracy. I mean overall, it’s not a bad amp, but there’s definitely better options available.
@@jdizzle3740 It can be hard to read an electrical RTA with certainty. You wanna look for a straight diagonal line and read the dB levels one octave apart. I'd say it's 12dB. That's also what most amps are. You typically have to move up to a high end amp to get steeper slopes. Anyone serious about sound should move to a dsp, but built in crossovers can still be handy.
Belva had a pretty badass amp. I think it was a BB5000.1 or something. But it would do 3k dynamic at 1 ohm. A friend of mine had 2 of them at .5 on 4 AB XFLs and it slammed. But great video. And if I can make a suggestion could you do the NVX NDA600.4. It’s a mini marine amp that claims 600.4rms for $139. I just bought it and I think it’s a gem 💎 for the money!
@stereomojo a good song to test full range amps is " Find my way home " by Otis Mcdonald. It is non copyrighted, and has the extreme highs, great tight mids, and awesome vocals. Amazing base, and has that fun funky late 80's early 90's vibe. I use it as my test track when installing full range amps, door speakers, and 6×9's. Also component speaker sets.
Before get into the video - Anyone that ever decides to vacation at Myrtle Beach SC I warn you now - if you see a cop (& they're every freaking where) hit MUTE on your stereo! It's Fall Bike Week here and I decided to go for a cruise. Well, that turned out to be the most expensive cruise this year. I was tagged with a $232 noise violation last night. The bad thing, it was so loud on Ocean Boulevard I couldn't hear the cop talking to me.. Not only did he ticketed me but also told me if I was seen on the strip again. He would lock me up and have my car impounded. I didn't get to make 2 passes! I asked him about the motorcycles that had 12" subs dripping off their bikes? He said, I can pick and choose who I want to.... Talk about pissed! Anyway, it's all good. I finally got the 4x midbass 8s installed. I couldn't put them on the doors because the dual pod enclosure I got were too deep and they hit the seat. I'll post some pictures soon... Also, the color of the stripes and the clear came in yesterday. I'm going to do some airbrush work while I'll have the whole car water sanded down.... again! I hope to get that done before the last of November, before the temperature drops off. Any who, I'm glad you done a upload on this brand. I've been curious. Going to watch you work your magic and it's to the yard!

@@dirt_ripper8734me too brother. They’re still repairing the substation that feeds our area. Haven’t even started repairing downed lines. May be another week. We are on day 10 now.
Not bad for the money, headroom coul stop it being good from a musical point of view but bang for the buck seems good...can't help but wonder what the amp would do under 1 ohm
@@JasonWW2000 alright, I have some experience here. Go with acrylic. At least 1/2 inch. If it’s a pretty loud build, go with 3/4 or 1 inch. My Son’s box (Tahoe) has 1/2 inch and it’s the thing that flexes the most. We should’ve used thicker.
it's a 1200w class d amp that by fusing should easily be capable of 1700w or more, especially at the amperage you test amps at but i can see 1200 being acceptable if the amps thermals are extremely low which i kinda doubt since the amp has no dynamic cooling.....
looks suspiciously similar to the orion cobalt series their 4500.1 does similar output. Same as the blaupunkts. Probably all made from same manufacturer in china. When comparing to brands like skar audio use price to fusing, what you will find is that most are in same price and real world output. In some cases these budget brands come out on top. Its the 4k claim that I expect 2k rms, its the 3x50A fusing that I expect at least 1500 rms.
I have some constructive criticism for you. You may not be aware of it but when there's a pause in the dialog you make a sound like you're sucking your teeth right before you start talking again. You might not care but if you're trying to grow your channel you might want to work on that
