i HOPE to someday get to wander around lost and transfixed at a trade show someday but till now no i never have - but i always enjoy doing it vicaiously with you Warren - thank you once again for that privilege - be well always 😃
100% agree - he had the perfect blend of knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine personality to really do his job well. Their interaction was a lot of fun to watch.
This was great to watch for the sheer enjoyment of watching and listening to all of these guys gush passion for their art. I'll never afford any of this gear but thoroughly enjoyed just the same!
That's great to hear! Honestly in one of my old studios inherited many issues, grounding being one of them and this would have done an amazing job solving that!
This is just great Warren..! AES is my favorite holiday, but I focused so much on the people, seeing old friends etc, that I missed all the gear..! So nice to get an 'extra day' of AES in an hour..!

@@Producelikeapro Yep. No shipping cost or EU VAT tax. Basically no tax on them. So they are cheaper. It's with all products from EU to the USA. You pay no taxes at all. We pay them in EU. Cars, electronics, clothes. Everything is cheaper in US and everything from US is taxed +20%-30% VAT+ duty tax in EU. You no taxes = We +30% on all stuff. This world is really weird.
I don't get why you would put eq on the back of reference monitors. In the studio you want to be able to hear the mix as it actually is. If there is too much low end in a flat response speaker you should eq it down in the mix, not the speaker. Am I wrong?
The EQ is there to compensate for a number of things, firstly how the speaker sounds in the environment, it can be quite different from one room to another and then of course the listeners preference, we all hear things differently.
the equitech stuff is an argument for using 240V split-phase straight from the power company in the US, not hacking up 120V balanced power. any gear that sounds different with balanced power has by definition a sub-par power supply. I get that there's engineering tradeoffs involved and not all gear has competent power supplies or can run on 240, but it still makes me shake my head and wince a little...
Sorry Warren, I think it was me that brought up your awkward English man hug.... It will come in time, now that you have become really self concious about it. Bless you.
Yes, unfortunately they show commercials based on viewing habits! I only got two the whole episode, however I don’t watch often but when I do I watch for a long time. Also unfortunately the music playing in the background was the cause!
This guy is not telling the truth. KSD was NOT the first company to implement DSP within their speaker. It was Meyer Sound Laboratories that developed powered speakers which had DSP technology within their speaker system in 1991. Meyer Sound Laboratories was developing powered speakers with integrated DSP in 1991, which predates KSD's 1996 first ever presentation.
Interesting! As you may know, neither company was first. The first company to develop and commercialize a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) for speakers was Texas Instruments (TI). Texas Instruments introduced the first single-chip DSP in 1982, known as the TMS32010.
@@Producelikeapro Ok, but the Texas version wasn't actually implemented until 1994. They developed it yes, but only implemented it in 1994 to an actual studio monitor. Though, it was installed and tested on a Apollo Computer DN570 Workstation in 1985. It was not yet installed and implemented in an actual studio monitor until 1994. Meyer Sound Laboratories on the other hand actually implemented alpha build of the DSP in the Bluehorn System and later officially released it in a HD-1 studio monitor in 1991. Then officially released the bluehorn system in Q4-2017
