Welcome to the 21st century, I suppose. Still fantastic boom for the buck.
there is a resurgence, tiny though, og cassette fans in the lo-fi and vaporwave circles. A lot of the bandcamp sell their stuff on cassette and one or two had the old school style walkman head phones available
I used to have a CD700 back in the day. I absolutely loved the sound but it lacked the bells and whistles of the newer stuff. Can’t believe the brand still exists
Nakamichi went the way of schwinn bikes once a great company that made Premium products sold to China now sold in Walmart for a fraction of the cost.. a schwinn is lucky if it can make it home riding it without falling apart. The amp might last long enough to say hey listen to me from 6 blocks away then your car/truck tries to compete with a EV firea.
I'd say 2,200 watts is pretty good for $82. In fact, it's kinda crazy when you can get 1,000 watts at 4 ohms. And the amp has a fan for cooling. Very surprised.
Yeah im running it now with a down 4 sound 10” sub. It pushes it better than the infinity kappa amp i had before, its less efficient though so ull need a good charging system in ur car. Worth the price for sure
Had to look up zenith alignment on RCA inputs. Obscure reference in technical writing class loses a letter grade. Went from A+ to a B+ but still a thumbs up.
Interested in the semi old school Hifonics XX-Colossus II? I have had it for many many years but it’s only seen a month of use at that before I bought a new vehicle back then.
So who are the key players nowadays in car audio? I used to compete in IASCA in the early 90s. Ran MB Quart, JL Audio, Precision Power, Audio Control and a Sony Mobile ES head unit. Then i heard most of those companys got bought out by one company. I'm looking to put a stealth system in my CX-90 and i want good quality sound and equipment. Any recommendations?
another amp that would probably sell well and get no disrespect at all if......they JUST RATED IT 2,000 watts. It's a great deal for that much power. But I won't touch a brand that lies to my face and thinks we won't find out. LOL.
its crazy the juice that can be pumped out of these tiny amps these days. back when i was into car audio and bass you needed amps the size of a back seat to make 1000 watts.
thanks big d. got the amp and replaced my rockville 600w rms 1ohm amp. my sub is a 12in audio legion 600w 1ohm but maan this new $82 amp pushes it so hard that i could feel it in my chest. Only problem is now I gotta upgrade my electrical system cuz every light is dimming since the efficiency at 1ohm is terrible while having only the big 3 with stock alt/battery.
@ it puts out clean bass and slaps pretty hard. Only problem to keep in mind is the gain on the amp is pretty low compared to most amps. I have a dsp so I was able to easily boost the signal to the amp. It isn’t terrible but you’d find yourself cranking the gain on the amp almost at max volume
i had the PA-400M , best amp i ever owned, it was my smallest/weakest and had the best sound quality and power output lol, sadly that whole system got stolen 20? yrs ago... when i heard you say nikamanchi i almost fell off my chair, literally never seen or heard of anybody else having a nikamanchi lol. east coast canada, not much car audio here, even less nowadays...
Impressive, and I know it doesn't matter for performance, but this actually looks nice IMHO. My 1st car amp back in the mid 90's was a Performance Teknique(sp?) which looked like a damn toy. It was one of the cheapest looking amp I've ever seen. It didn't cost much, but from the fake chrome looking plastic housing it looked like it should have cost even less lol. And while I had no means of actually testing the claimed output. There's no way in hell it got anywhere close to the big ass 1500 watts font that was plastered on the fake chrome.
I would call this a win regardless because there's amps out there now for 150-250 that don't meet spec or intentionally claim huge power that they will never hope to meet. The only issue is whether the quality of sound is any good because more power doesn't always mean more better.
Still have the soundstream has a bad connection on on riser will pop when tapped I also have a kenwood kac- x4r that just won’t turn on but it doesn’t smell like anyone let the smoke out . I was told back when I bought the jl that it was a class d amp so could only go with what I was told by store owner
Way back in the late 1980's they mfg the PA5 & PA7 stereo home amplifiers. Class A/B with high bias, the circuits designed by Nelson Pass of Threshold, First Watt, etc. Oh how they have fallen!
I'm still hearing lots of HF bleed in the bump test. I'm thinking this might be coming off the same assembly line as the Cerwin-Vega CVPRO3K/5K, another brand whose name was sold and means little today.
8:33 Yo Big D! You should do an episode where you explain the positives and negatives of these components that you talk about. Not all of us know what a 3300uf 63v 105° C capacitor is capable of. Or what the different types of transistors and MOSFETs do. Just an idea from a nerd who is only partially informed.
The rabbit hole gets deep quick when going into specifics but I understand the desire to understand more. RUclipsr’s like Barevids go into deep detail about the amps components and designs and he may be a good source to check out if you want to dive deeper 👍
Big D i bought this amp and got the gain set with a multimeter but it does not bump lol, it does with the bass remote do, im wondering if it needs it, which in my past expirence ive never needed one
Damn when I saw this sale I was gonna get the top of the line HU something like 4 volts out which is crazy good just to see what it can do but demos online saved me some money. Sad where this company went they used to run the game for a long time providing people high quality gear.

Thanks for the review D!
Ur amp dyno results was within like 100-150 watts of what i was able to get but i dont have enough battery to really test amps drawing over 250 amps .
Most equipment I've bought in the past year gives you a spec sheet with the actual bench test outputs. I wish that was a legal requirement.
Every time I see the dyno, all I can think of is “Surface Mount Device.” 😂
I'd say 2,200 watts is pretty good for $82. In fact, it's kinda crazy when you can get 1,000 watts at 4 ohms. And the amp has a fan for cooling. Very surprised.
Ricordi di una vitae di un lavoro svolto con grande soddisfazione 💪🏻💯
Yeah im running it now with a down 4 sound 10” sub. It pushes it better than the infinity kappa amp i had before, its less efficient though so ull need a good charging system in ur car. Worth the price for sure
Awesome 👏
Wow, very impressed by this one. Worth every dollar I'd say
Best tapedeck i ever had in my car by far. It was a thing of beauty 😢
Good job covering the serial number in text and not in barcode, proud owner of NAA16*****-10 lmao
funny how things change, nakamichi used to be the high end price equip....
I actually got one. Paused the vid on the 2 ohm test and got one, it let me check out sooo well see if it shows up
Have you tried it out yet?
Nakamichi was true to the game anything came from Japan was worth every penny
A Chinese company owns the name. Time will tell how long these amps last.
R@@arcademania7544Remember what I stated back in the game when I was 16 years old they were made in Japan?I'm 58 years old now?
For $82 bux, It bumps!!!! Great budget find👍🏼👍🏼
5 hours later Amazon has some for $100 & ebay for $250(: That was impressive for the price- great video
another amp that would probably sell well and get no disrespect at all if......they JUST RATED IT 2,000 watts. It's a great deal for that much power. But I won't touch a brand that lies to my face and thinks we won't find out. LOL.
Would u explain about the high pass filter being used as a subsonic filter does that mean it can still be used for the subwoofers
Thanks to your channel mr big D❤❤❤❤
I bought 3 of em! Reliable enough cause I have backups
Have you tried them out yet?
Have you tried it out yet?
its crazy the juice that can be pumped out of these tiny amps these days. back when i was into car audio and bass you needed amps the size of a back seat to make 1000 watts.
Have you ever explained (with pictures) the difference between full bridge and, well, less than full bridge? Could you? Add in A/B?
I'd watch it.
Barevids has done this. He has some great vids, check him out
thanks big d. got the amp and replaced my rockville 600w rms 1ohm amp. my sub is a 12in audio legion 600w 1ohm but maan this new $82 amp pushes it so hard that i could feel it in my chest. Only problem is now I gotta upgrade my electrical system cuz every light is dimming since the efficiency at 1ohm is terrible while having only the big 3 with stock alt/battery.
How does it sound? I ordered one too and I'm thinking of running a 15 on it.
@@cheech59 cool thank you I'm going to add a DSP before I put this in.
i had the PA-400M , best amp i ever owned, it was my smallest/weakest and had the best sound quality and power output lol, sadly that whole system got stolen 20? yrs ago... when i heard you say nikamanchi i almost fell off my chair, literally never seen or heard of anybody else having a nikamanchi lol. east coast canada, not much car audio here, even less nowadays...
I picked this up along with the eq and another amp. They have subs on sale too, NSW10D. Do have any experience with these? Thanks Danny
I think I seen a current limiter inside the amp ill have to take the bottom off again to check and see .
Snoop approved. I love it.
Still have the soundstream has a bad connection on on riser will pop when tapped I also have a kenwood kac- x4r that just won’t turn on but it doesn’t smell like anyone let the smoke out . I was told back when I bought the jl that it was a class d amp so could only go with what I was told by store owner
I like your channel. I am thinking about getting back into car audio. For my own vehicle. Thanks for the reviews.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I’m gonna buy one, it’s too good. I could probably sell it for what I paid if I don’t like it. Did you experience any overheating?
Just ordered one and is currently in stock and at the discounted price. 11-10-2024
Awesome Thank you for putting up
you gotta let it go up to the advertised "10%" THD to get that rated 3k ..... lol
🥴
I have the nakamichia factory system in my 1998 Lexus es 300 I drive daily but sounds 20× better and great bass than my 2019 Mercedes 250 4matic

Yo Big D!
Excellent video & info thanks
As of 1048am on Sunday Nov 10th in Pensacola Florida there still available
Get the pyle they’re 🤝
Big D i bought this amp and got the gain set with a multimeter but it does not bump lol, it does with the bass remote do, im wondering if it needs it, which in my past expirence ive never needed one
I remember nakamichi head units used to be really good
Definitely a budget gem!
This woot deal is pretty crazy. Setting my son's car up with 4 6x9, 2 6.5, 2 4 channel amps and a mini mono amp for about $250. 😂
I just ordered the 900.1
Looks like your run of the mill Chinese 1500 amp
The line looked great at SEMA
Damn when I saw this sale I was gonna get the top of the line HU something like 4 volts out which is crazy good just to see what it can do but demos online saved me some money. Sad where this company went they used to run the game for a long time providing people high quality gear.
2 of these on a pair of subs would be a steal
