There is NOTHING like this on the market. I am a long time car audio fan with deep knowledge of brands all the way from skar audio up to fancy stuff like mosconi, focal, etc.. There is literally nothing like this that i've ever seen. There are several 6 or 8 channel amps.. but none of them have any decent power on the sub channel. I'd like to see Sam go over this amp from stem to stern. Maybe test the amp for THD at rated output as well. IMO the real turning point for these D4S amps will be if/when someone uses one for a competition SQ system....and is at least competitive. We hear all the time that the amp is the least important element in a true SQ system. Well, this is the perfect amp to confirm or disprove that claim. Excellent overview and dyno video Dereck!

Never been a fan of JP but this amp is legit, whole car power for what alot of guys spend on just a monoblock. Will be checking one of these out next time I need a full car setup for a customer for sure
Not trying to downplay the amp, because it's still impressive, but what would make you choose this over say, 2x Taramps DS 4000x4's which would give you 8kw rms vs this one that does almost 4k? Looking at the components on the outputs this is also a class D so sound quality should be pretty much the same.
@@00000005547 bc taramps are garbage for both SQ and build quality. ive run half the power of the taramps in exact setup , played deeper and louder. ive put many taramps in bike installs with PA stuff and SQ was junk, it was loud asf but that what the customer waz looking for so it served its purpose, for me, the wont ever be a brazilian amp in my vehicles ever again. the md8k was flaky, didnt last long, got excuses from customoer service, and was told it may be almost 4 months for repair...threw in garbage and replaced with a cheap rp4500 and it WAY outshined the 8k in both loudness and authority down low.
That is a special Amplifier. Big D, I bought some subwoofers from your brother in Virginia a few years ago. They are some 10 inch subs in a ported box. Yall look alike and I told him I be watching your cool videos. "This is not a mickey mouse program"
Here I am considering this for my truck... Upgrading from the stock 95A alternator to a 370A alternator. Not planning on pushing this to it's limits (power output wise), but utilizing the number of channels (set for the tweeters, set for the front woofers, set for the rear woofers, and another for the sub, DSP/EQ controlled, ~1100W RMS combined going by rated RMS of each driver). Still a bit concerned about it pulling too much power.

UPDATE: Before I got rid of my Kia, I ran this exact amp^^ for a couple months on a Sinfoni Tempo 3 way set, and a Savard Hi-Q 15, (signal processed by a Helix Ultra). I have zero complaints about this amplifier. It did everything I wanted it to. I just plugged it into the system and ran everything at zero gain, (because I didn't feel like measuring, or messing with anything). This thing is stout, and treated all of my speakers pretty well. I was considering selling it to help fund my current build, but after seeing it in this video again, maybe I'll just hang onto it. It's a solid piece of work, so far.
I ordered this amp as soon as I watched your video. I will be replacing 3 amps in my truck with it. RF t600.4 , RF 225.2 and a RF t2500.1bdcp. Running RF t5 3way front and a SMD mini 12 inch sub all processed through a audiocontrol DM810. ..my 20+ year old 225.2 is causing a whining noise feedback into my other amps at zero volume. I still have my old school ppi art series as from 1996 2 1200 2 Channel and 2 200 watts 2 channel and 1 100 watt 2 channel clean still has art screen print on them
Love the channel. Worked @ custom sound shop back 90s and I miss my 90's Sony Mobile XES (X-1, P-1, Z50) Bi-Amp doors SoundStream Ref 200 on Boston Acoustic Pro silk tweets, Ref 300 on 6.5 MB Quart 6.5 Qseries, Ref 500 on x2 JBL 1200 GTi ported. I know you didn't ask but once I got the digital alignment set to this day I've found nothing similar. I could close my eyes and would swear Maria Carey (don't hate :) ) was standing right in front me singing.
Rockford has had amps with massive dynamic headroom for years. This is indicative of a well designed amplifier. When there are big or loud peaks or transients it means the amp can supply the power, instead of falling on its face. I would say it likely sounds very good, i am very impressed with the feature set on this. Most amps with this many channels have very low power output. The SQ folks will love this one.. running active with a DSP, this is a one hit wonder for running a 3 way front stage and one or two 12-15" subwoofer(s). Pair this with a 8 channel DSP (cant find a 7 channel) and you will have a killer system.
It’s difficult to calculate accurate efficiency with an amp with so many channels. This other guy commenting like 20x saying I’m hiding something doesn’t even calculate the other 6 channels that were active during the tests. If it’s really important I can try again and get an estimate. It should be between 75-85%
Baught one of these amps during black Friday sale and man this Amp gets down nice to know exactly what kind of power Its putting down definitely satisfied with the purchase! And it's a a great price!
Interesting Amp... totally impressive. Great for bigger vehicle build, Time will tell with SQ. JP seems to be working 💪 the good angles 🤔 in an Audiophilac manner. 🤷
the only thing I can really say I dislike is the bass knob. It looks great and has nice features but it feels cheaply made.. the blue light is not nearly as bright as the previous knob that came with JP 23 but still very bright. also the knob it self When turning bass suddenly jumps from one levet up abouf 4 levels. it's not a smoth transition. I have it on a !skar EVL-15 @ 2 ohms and it bumps hard.
Great looking amps coming out from Down4Sound. I wish they had been around when I built my most recent system. The pricing for them is great but I wonder how long they can keep it up. Many times new brands are priced for low/no profit to get market share and many don’t make it past that stage. Skar walks the pricing fine line with their sk series korean amps while DC has gone upmarket with their korean amps. It will be interesting to see where Down4Sound is with their amps in a year.
I don't get why this guy has to crap on Skar audio to promote D4S. Both companies make good products for people on a budget. D4S has the lowest tuned pre-fab boxes I've seen on the internet at 32Hz. Others say 35-38Hz but are clearly in the mid 40's. The Skar prefabs are a true 38Hz which is good for all kinds of music not just songs with processed basslines.
@@jimjones3287 It sounds mean but its the truth and as he said in another comment, it helps the video’s performance with RUclips algorythms. All Skar amps are actually on clearance on D4S’s website. I checked.
Glad it tested well, I got mine a couple weeks ago, and it won’t be going in till the spring. But I figured if JP put his name on it, it’s gotta be awesome. Great Video Big D !!
One amp to do virtually everything. I'll go to their website to see if the 6 channels are class AB or class D. I have no issues on pigtails until they go bad...get extras. Thanks Big D.
Good work you always put the videos together so well and you get all of the info on the amp out there for people to know before buying one so thank full for that i have used your videos multiple times to pick my amps
Wow! What an amazing piece of car audio gold! I bet it would cost about the same as the amp to properly wire it up with all channels utilized. That includes additional bolstering of the vehicle’s electrical system to be able to power it properly. I hope D4S keeps making this one as part of their regular product line.
I remember those old school amps, look into Mark Anthony amps, I also had a titanium Phoenix gold amp! Man it was the shit. Most of my stuff was Memphis even back then. Really miss those days when car audio was the shit!!!
When you get a chance, could you test the Skar 150.4 amp? I’ve seen the amp in person and it’s sounds very good on quality speakers. Would like to see how it performs on the dyno
This amp is like too good to be true. Just amazing power for what i saw looking into the amp there! Really? Imagine powering a home theater setup with this amount of power! Heck, this puppy could power like 30 speakers in a real 500 seat theater! LOL. A typical off the shelf surround sound receiver producing over 100 watts/ch is above normal, and if your're lucky. What is it with having thousands of available watts in a listening area the size of a closet in a home! Crazy.

Glad I bought it… what about current draw and efficiency? You normal show that. Thanks for great videos
It’s difficult to calculate accurate efficiency with an amp with so many channels. This other guy commenting like 20x saying I’m hiding something doesn’t even calculate the other 6 channels that were active during the tests. If it’s really important I can try again and get an estimate. It should be between 75-85%
@@wal thanks for the response I’m not a SQ person just want it to sound good and how much I’d need to run this in a vehicle…
Baught one of these amps during black Friday sale and man this Amp gets down nice to know exactly what kind of power Its putting down definitely satisfied with the purchase! And it's a a great price!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hows the SQ? I just got mine but haven't installed it yet. I'm a bit concerned driving my tweeters with a Class D amp...
Interesting Amp... totally impressive. Great for bigger vehicle build, Time will tell with SQ. JP seems to be working 💪 the good angles 🤔 in an Audiophilac manner. 🤷
You know what this is such a cool Amp, I'll be ok running a passive setup and am sure it will be great...
Love to hear Sam's input on this Amp. Also that big amp at the end reminded me of the big a$$ Dr Crankenstine amps from mid to late 90's. 😅
You don’t know how scary it is you literally have seen into the crystal ball and know the next video! Wow 😳
Cool Amp really backs it up with extra 👍🏽
I recently installed this jp77 sounds great. I am running 3 way front stage plus sub .
Awesome 👏
the only thing I can really say I dislike is the bass knob. It looks great and has nice features but it feels cheaply made.. the blue light is not nearly as bright as the previous knob that came
with JP 23 but still very bright. also the knob it self When turning bass suddenly jumps from one levet up abouf 4 levels. it's not a smoth transition.
I checked.
This amp is a must have the real deal front stage SQ setup
Considering the extremely weird oscope readings. And horrendous service from d4s thats a big ole nope (and i own one. It sounds horrid)
Class D and SQ ????
@@kdeep1690 its both a all in one amp
@@jamesstephenson2346 hmm where is your vid with a oscope to vitrify your findings
@@jamesstephenson2346 ro you got this amp already and it sounds bad?
So glad you are doing this amp. When I saw it I am very interested in it.
That MM1000 is a beast. Really impressed with the efficiency at 4ohms.
Any chance you could review one of their 4 channel mini amps? Mm1004
I think I found the perfect head unit to go with this beast!
That one is interesting for sure!
ive been wanting to swap out my sae100.4 and sae 2000.1D for this amp, but ive been waiting for this exact video.
Glad it tested well, I got mine a couple weeks ago, and it won’t be going in till the spring. But I figured if JP put his name on it, it’s gotta be awesome. Great Video Big D !!
Ask Sam what he thinks about capxon capacitors.
👍
Shout out to all the test done on this amp!
Such an amazing all in one amp!! Wow, just wow!!!
😬👍
One amp for a full system, awesome sauce!!
Yeah boi
The irony that the ad that popped up for me, before this video was for skar is hilarious to me.
They prob did that on purpose 😝
Another bad ass amp. I don't personally care for JP too much but these new amps he has are awesome. Ill be buying a few of them.
I’ve bought plenty of SKAR products and I’m not a fan of them so I get your reservations but also the fact this is a killer deal 👌
The only Skar I care for are the Sk series. The rest are junk.
Love it! We're going to be getting one of these for our daily ;)
Down for sound "IS" down for sound !!! Nice 👍
👌😬👍
One amp to do virtually everything. I'll go to their website to see if the 6 channels are class AB or class D. I have no issues on pigtails until they go bad...get extras. Thanks Big D.
All channels are Class D
@@wal noooooo....
Yes, have been waiting patiently for this review... thank you
Thanks for watching and commenting!
looks like a good setup for a suv nice review
Damn, an amp that actually gives you what you pay for. Plus a little bit more.👍🏻
Good work you always put the videos together so well and you get all of the info on the amp out there for people to know before buying one so thank full for that i have used your videos multiple times to pick my amps
Thanks for the feedback!
Can't wait to see what you come up with on the listening part.
Sounds awesome. But I keep hearing it’s not clean. Whats your take on it ?
Thumbs up for a whole lotta work. Thank you, Sir.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yes please connect with Sam or ask him to do a review of the entire line? Sound Quality is my concern. I know they do the power!!!
Wow! What an amazing piece of car audio gold!
I bet it would cost about the same as the amp to properly wire it up with all channels utilized. That includes additional bolstering of the vehicle’s electrical system to be able to power it properly.
I hope D4S keeps making this one as part of their regular product line.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
More Barevids Colabs PLEASE!!!
Thanks for the feedback!
Big D don't forget about JL Audio XD800/8V2, XDM800, VX800/MV800 also JBL DSP4086AM LASTLY Sony XM-8ES MOBILE ES SERIES.
great video big D! making me rethink my set up now haha
I’ve always wanted to run a 7 channel, just never enough sub pushing until now
Yeah this one is unique
Damn… that’s the perfect amp for almost anyone
A tad of electrical needed but that’s a given 👊🏼
👌😬👍
I remember those old school amps, look into Mark Anthony amps, I also had a titanium Phoenix gold amp! Man it was the shit. Most of my stuff was Memphis even back then. Really miss those days when car audio was the shit!!!
Jp is killing me I might need this sexy blue beast
This amp is gonna make my tummy rumble….
I run two morel 4 channel amps for front and rear sound stage to keep up with my 7500 ran into the dirt at .33
That zen9 looked nice!
😎👍👍
Agreed!!
Big D, your doing a great job brother people on here are acting silly
Thank you 🙏
Nice work on history and testing. Quality content
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I was waiting on this review….thanks! Any chance you’ll be doing a review of the Crossfire 5 channel as well?
Thanks for the suggestion!
That amp has an outstanding price based on the dyno results.
I concur
These NEED to come to germany man, 366$ for shipping is insane :(
When you get a chance, could you test the Skar 150.4 amp? I’ve seen the amp in person and it’s sounds very good on quality speakers. Would like to see how it performs on the dyno
Thanks for the suggestion
I've seen it dyno'd on RUclips recently. If it wasn't Williston, maybe HifiVector
I wish I knew about this amp before a bought 3 kicker kx amplifiers
This amp has an amazing price.
12:30 how'd you get higher wattage at lower voltage? That's pretty cool. S/n I appreciate the lower voltage tests.
You should do a test on the new smd-2800.5 l want to see the rms output at .7,1,2,4 ohm on the sub channel and 4 and 2 ohm on the ab 4 channel
Crazy.
I thought that as well!! Home theater car amp!
@@wal LOL, ya.
