It's mainly the mids that sound plastic or nasally sounding ... It's amazing how much mids you have to cut for a good acoustic tone , that using any kind of acoustic pickup .
Hi, I have a Jazz Chorus Amp (JC 50) which I use with pleasure with a Gretsch. However, I just got made for me a nylon string electric guitar with RMC pickup. I was looking for a amp. When I discovered the Rosette Amp I was interested but for the prize. This Rosette DI looks like a great alternative in particular if i could put the line out on the low impedence input of my JC 50. Do you think it would give a good result?
hey I don’t know if you answer comments but I need some help. I just watched you”why you should avoid mastering the guitar” and you mention needing to set an intention and that’s the problem. I am interested in fingerstyle guitar but I don’t really know what to practice. I have been learning a couple of sungha jungs arrangements and I’ve gotten into tommy emmanuel, but in the end I don’t know how to play very well, I don’t feel like I’m progressing. any advice would be great, thanks
NinjaPanda Have a look at the complete fingerstyle series from Alfred publishing, beginner, intermediate and expert books, all are brilliant, I was in the same position as you and I learned so much from these books.
This would be good if you plug into the in house PA and you don't tour with a Amp and there's no sound engineer lol Would you really need this if you already have great EQ on your acoustic amp, I don't think so. I'm not a gear freak and it really annoys me to see artists pissing around with gear. Would I use one at a gig, NO I'd prefer a good amp.
A sound is worth a thousand words....

Can you please review or make a comparison video on a few acoustic guitar pickups of DI ?
Nice review Tony! My main question would be: Which other DI Preamp "pedal" would you pick over this Mesa Rosette?
Phil, I also use the Fishman Aura Di and I like that quite a bit. It doesn't have the boost but it sounds very much on point.
Thanks, good to know :)
I had buy this. very good. thanks.
How does this compare to the Grace Systems Alix?
Nice shirt dude.

Would you recommend this for someone who's essentially stuck doing direct recording?
Paul, It would be a great piece of gear to have for direct recording :-)
I should say that you are the jesus christ of acoustic review. Everything you say are so legit and makes people buy stuff

Sound engineers like you a lot more with a DI setup then a mic'd amp on stage 😉🤣
