      This. Is. Awesome., Shiftgears! The cool thing about an acoustic amp - actually two things that are cool about acoustic amps... First - they make it more fun to play acoustic, partly because of the creativity with FX and tone shaping... but they also make it EASIER to play (when the tone and volume is lined up), which is sayiong a lot, especially for electric players going to heavier and stiffer guages common on acoustic. Hope you dig it and let us know what you think when you try it. And hope the Roadking is serving well! :D

    Boogies are simply the best amps in the entire World. I bought a Stereo 2:50 for my rack rig, then I bought a Lone Star; and recently I bought a Mark V:35 which I'm still waiting for to receive it. Boogie's tone it's like a drug.

    I've had a Marshall AS50R for quite some time and will likely stick with it because I don't play acoustic that much. But I'm sure the Rosette sounds fantastic. I've had a Mesa Boogie since 1982, and it sounds great no matter what guitar I plug in.

    I'm going to agree with Luis. The possibilities of this with a violin, cello, bass, or viola are exciting. VERY much looking forward to those demos combined with the preamp, and anything you might choose as pickups for those instruments if they're not mic'd (or what pickups you might recommend for recording through a preamp into a computer while also playing through the amp, or just directly). Thank you for thinking of the acoustic world.

      Thanks for the very kind words, Beach Dweller and we are excited to see how people will find uses for the Rosette in the world of acoustic amplification. While there are many acoustic amps out there, we are confident that the Rosette delivers a level of clarity and authentic amplification... rather than a 'voiced' representation of your acoustic signal. It's a big part of what we do in electric amplification already and was a natural progression into the acoustic world for us. Remaining true to what the instrument sounds like with a truthful representation of their instruments sound as a starting point and allow people to make frequency changes to their sound from there was the goal. There are lots of great pickup options out there these days and the major pickup companies who have had and developed acoustic instrument pickups for a long time have made leaps and bounds in the last few years. We'll likelly discuss some of this in an upcoming blog post soon as well as more videos with different instruments. Exciting times for acoustic music on so many levels. Thanks again for your interest and the kind words. :)

    As fate would have it over the last few months I have been scouring the net looking for an acoustic guitar amp. My problem as always is, if I'm going to open my wallet for anything when I find the right tool (amp or guitar) as I use them to make money, I want to know I'm not going to have to do some cat and mouse game getting it worked on or even if I just have questions. I like face to face, show me what I am doing wrong or when I can bring it in to have things looked at and or repaired. Kind of funny, Mesa to the rescue. I'll be making an appearance at Mesa Hollywood very shortly, guitars in hand. Mesa Hollywood (John T.) is the best. Honest, straight forward and has helped me out of a jam more than once with quick repairs and lots of direction on how to achieve what I'm looking for. I also do everything within my power to keep all my equipment American made.

    that's a sweet sounding amp. Great to see the controls set up like you would on a desk in an amp. I've been looking for this type of versatility, so you can leave the desk, power amps, speakers, cables etc etc at home and rock up with a compact all in one amp for duets. Nice one boogie.

    The guitar sound is usually the feature sound, and most good-quality name-brand acoustic amps do reasonably well at providing decent guitar amplification. I use this type of ‘acoustic amp’ often and have been frustrated by the poor quality of the mic pre-amps in many of these units. I love using Great River mic pre-amps in my studio for vocals, and would really-really like to be able to get that sound quality in an ‘acoustic amp’ vocal channel for the sake of convenience when going out to play small gigs. This Mesa Rosette 300 review appears encouraging and I look forward to trying out one.

    • @mesaboogie
      @mesaboogie  7 лет назад

      Thanks for your interest and thanks for the kind words. We love Great River stuff too! :) While the Rosette input section may not be *quite* as lush as a Great River Mic Pre :), it's nicely close and what it certainly does is remain authentic to the input signal source as your starting point. Lots of acoustic amps we compared to in our R & D seemed pretty 'voiced' and that goes against much of what we lean toward in general (even in our electric amp designs), but certainly in the acoustic realm. The console channel strip concept is the backbone of the amp, with inputs optimized for their appropriate connections and signal (not shared by a combo jack circuit which compromises both or emphasizes one), and then supported by premium quality speakers, tweeter, adjustable crossover and quality cabinetry. It's an exciting format and one where our direction was a natural one based on our history and desire for clarity and detail in our designs and outputs. For finishing touches for lush vocals in the Rosette that sound and feel inspiring to sing through might include some outboard compression and your favorite reverbs, or the on-board reverb - or maybe not for the quick throw & go... But fundamentally, the Rosette is clean and true to it's input and a familiar starting point for people with studio experience like yourself. Look forward to your thoughts when you have a chance to check one out! :)

    Well, since my teen years I´ve always dreamt of having a Mesa amp and for twenty years followed their product line. Bough a Mark V two weeks ago and I´m still amazed: how could I have the best amp that I´ve ever heard in my own bedroom? And now Mesa releases this loving accoustic amp. The concern they have for an accoustic player´s needs seems top notch (mike imput for live performance). Hope it sells by the tons!
    One question: I´m also an amateur violin player, and i´ve seen a violin in the background. Are you planning to realease a video with other instruments, like violins, violas, cellos and/or upright bass?

    • @mesaboogie

      Hi Luis - Thanks for the incredibly kind words and congrats on your Mark V and we hope it provides you with a lifetime of new and great tones! Regarding other instruments, we absolutely plan to release other videos demonstrating the Rosette's potential. As it's circuit is similar to console design, it works incredibly well for ANY acoustic instruments and we're looking forward to showcasing it with many different styles and instruments. Thanks for your interest. :D

    Nice tone. I've owned over a dozen acoustic amps including Trace Elliot, Sedona's etc. Wondering why Mesa elected to go solid state when the company is so tube oriented. Was there any research on using tubes? Why was this they're chosen way to go? Also, will there be color options like with my Express plus5:50? It would be cool beyond anything to have one in Ruby red to match my Express.Thanks, I'll be calling Sweetwater,,, Don

    • @mesaboogie
      @mesaboogie  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Don - Great question abouty why solid state when we have such a rich history of success with tubes. The first answer is that acoustic instruments tend to have a built in compression and resonance that is unique to each instrument and that inherent resonance/compression doesn't always benefit from the extra expansion and breath that tubes generally offer in the electric realm. In fact, in our experience, acoustic instruments actually benefit from having the amplification be a bit more linear and accurate - what solid state power is very well known for. Because acoustic instruments are so unique - just between acoustic guitars, but then so many other instruments like violins, dobro, upright bass, cello, etc... The variation between all those types of instruments really dictates that it can be ideal to come from a place of neutrality and allow the controls on the amp to make changes/enhancements from that place of neutrality rather than the voice and response of tubes being added to enhance something when it's not clear if that's what would help. After lots of R & D and comparisons and technologies including tubes, we decided that the class D power sections offer reliable power and heardoom in a lightweight and compact package, and the channel strip style circuits and format really suits the huge variety of instruments bes as a starting point for tone and perfromance! Regarding custom options, YES! The Rosette can be customized the same as any other Mesa and that's one of the things we are incredibly excited about fopr the Rosette Combo. A combo in Red Vinyl would look amazing with the cream front panel! :D Hope this helps and let us know if you have any other questions!

      @donhogan7129 7 лет назад +2

      Thanks, well said. I always could get a good acoustic sound from my Sedona but I found myself going back to the Trace Elliot or just straight to the PA. It seemed easier to get what I wanted without the tube coloring the sound..

    what is the sound of acoustic amp when I used it for classical guitar? And why acoustic string guitar is always used in demo for almost all acoustic amp?

    • @mesaboogie
      @mesaboogie  6 лет назад

      Hi Jonathan - thanks for your interest and good questions! There is a semi-hollowbody nylon string guitar played in the middle of the video in a classical style: ruclips.net/video/-Vi71YH7DNI/видео.htmlm19s Many steel string players seem to be more likely to use acoustic amps where nylon string guitarists often use a mic. However, that seems to be changing and plenty of nylon string players are using amps too. The Rosette sounds great with nylon string as it's very natural and true to the sound of your intrument. Also, the Rosette DI Pre is the exact same preamp as the Rosette Combo and sounds great. Here's is a nylon string demo with the Rosette DI Pre: ruclips.net/video/fKAnyRGKaI0/видео.html Thanks for your interest. Let us know if you have any more questions!

You can get a hardwood cabinet (as shown in the video) or any of the different vinyl coverings listed in our Custom Design Gallery, as well as embossed leather and suedes, etc. Basically, any of the custom options you've seen MESA amps covered in before (and still available) can be applied to the Rosette combo products! Hi Mesa boogie! Can I use my Paul reed smith ce 2016 with this and throw a distortion pedal in the loop? Will it work with an electric guitar?

    • @mesaboogie
      @mesaboogie  7 лет назад +3

      Hi PunkRocker - You could use your PRS into the Rosette for clean sounds and it sounds pretty dang good (even though it's not the ideal, intended use). However, while a distortion pedal into the front of the amp might sound OK, were not going to say it would sound awesome because the amp wasn't designed to be used this way. Also, distortion pedals don't sound good and don't work well in FX loops, so if you were going to use a distortion pedal, we recommend they be placed in line between guitar and the input of the amp, not the Loop. Hope this helps and thanks for your interest! :)

    Is one channel intended for a microphone for vocals? Can that be demonstrated please? What if you have a Taylor expression system guitar that has a xlr lead and you wish to use a mic with an xlr lead?

    • @mesaboogie
      @mesaboogie  7 лет назад

      Hi +Lewis Phillips - Great question! Ch. 1 is available to be used with an XLR OR 1/4" input and the XLR source can either be a mic or an XLR output from a guitar and can be used for vocals or XLR instruments. Using Ch. 1 for Vocals and Ch. 2 for the guitar is demonstrated at 6:50 in the video. If you need TWO XLR inputs, you can purchase a mic transformer adaptor or cable/pigtail that converts XLR to 1/4" properly with no loss for around $20-25. Thanks for your interest, hope this helps and let us know if you have any further questions. :)
