- BYU Photo's Jaren Wilkey walks you through a typical photoday setup to capture portraits and posed action photos to be used in posters and other marketing materials for the BYU Football team. Jaren then demonstrates his techniques as he photographs sophomore quarterback Zach Wilson (now starting quarterback with the New York Jets).

Damn, young sports photographers are eternally grateful for this. Looking forward to using this at spurs media day.
How does anyone not like this video?
Whoa, did you know where Zach Wilson's path would take him when you made this video? pretty wild.
We knew he would be special and he was great to work with.
this is a fantastic video thank you so much!
Excellent Jaren. Loved this video. Especially loved the comment about distribution of light for getting into the helmet.
whoooooooh!
Would be nice to see camera settings and editing
Love your work!!
I'm just starting into the world of using flash and varying lights. I really want to start doing some sports portraits and planned action shoots like you've shown here. Thanks heaps and great video!!
Shaun, Thanks for watching, let us know if there are other topics you would like us to cover in future videos.

Amazing! Thank you guys so much
This is amazing!!!

Hi - love this video & seeing a BTS look at your set up. I am excited to try shuttersnitch at my next shoot instead of the canon camera connect app. What do you like better about shuttersnitch than the canon app for wireless transmitting / viewing? Thanks!
Shuttersnitch is better in every way. It transfers the files quickly and consistently works. I've given up on canon's app.
@@byuphoto Is Shuttersnitch still the go-to in 2023?
@@MichaelCaterina Yes we are still using Shuttersnich and it works exceptionally well on the new iPad Pro's.
Can we get a behind the scenes of the official visits from recruits and a team photo shoot media day
Good idea, we'll add that to the que!
What settings were you using. The strobes were blazing so I would assume the power output was low. Thank you for the video.

Great video. How do you send the pictures to the ipad ?
We use ShutterSnich. Works great.
Do the strobes keep up with your burst rate on your Canon ?
The Profoto D2's do a pretty good job, I generally get 4-6 shots off before they can't keep up. It also helps if you don't fire them at full power.
How did you get the images to pop up on the iPad while shooting?
We use the wireless transmitters with the Canon 1DX Mark II to send jpgs to the iPad via the Shuttersnitch app. Check out our blog post in the description.
