- Brad Deel is a sports photographer, bringing the excitement and energy of high end photography to every level. He has a passion for providing youth and high school athletes the same experience you see in professional sports. He sits down with us to tell his story.
This interview is amazing!
I have been following Brad's stuff for a while, and I realize now that he's actually a genuine and humble person! When you see a professional doing the kind of work that he does, in a highly competitive market, and they're at the top of their game, often times, they come off as VERY arrogant, prideful, and unhelpful, but Brad is definitely a different breed and that's truly refreshing. And, finding out that he's NOT doing this full time and keeps a moderate schedule is astonishing and inspiring!
I too have been doing photography as a side-gig for about 15 years now, all genres, but I really do like shooting high school and college sports the most. What I was starting to realize about myself after seeing Brad's work is that, although I may have all of the proper gear (which I don't yet, lights are next on my list), I still wouldn't have Brad's exponential creativity...BUT, I wonder if that may come with narrowing down to a specific genre and just OWN'ing it like a boss. At the moment, weddings are my most fruitful genre but they're honestly not my favorite to do, so I don't do those often. However, I could easily see myself really enjoying the outcome of this type of work the most, no matter how frustrating and costly it might be initially (LOL).
I'm thankful for Brad sharing this channel and the interview. I'm definitely motivated to explore a paradigm shift for this year!

I completely agree with what you said about Brad! I have been following him for a long time as well. I finally reached out to him recently, asking him about lighting gear and a few other things. He is always so kind and helpful. He is so genuine. He is also encouraging as well.

You've got a great creative imagination and eye...bottom line. Your success comes from your humility and hard work. I appreciate when you've answered the most random questions on Instagram in a helpful way. Most parents won't ever be able to afford a photographer like you, but I appreciate the tips you give to help us get some memorable pics of our kids.

love your work, I have taken sport photos but none to this magnitude with lights and smog. You have to be creative or work on your creativity to shoot pics like such. Keep it up. Small town boy in Large City Art work.
