This is STILL hands down the best channel on RUclips for sports videographers. Peter has been instrumental in my videography skills and to be honest, I would have been lost early on without this channel. Please keep up the great content; it’s awesome!

Thank you so much, I’m glad that I’ve been able to help! I’ll definitely be keeping the content coming so no worries there!

Love the video and the tips. One question: what music do you put on your playlist for during the shoot? Maybe you can share a playlist?

It’s usually hip hop but if I’m being honest I usually let one of my coworkers or another crew member pick a playlist because I listen to too much R&B 😂

When in doubt though Rap Caviar or something similar on Spotify is new and generic enough that it generally goes over well

    Man as always, thank you!
Curious though, so you used 4 colored tube lights and then just 2 key lights? one behind the subject and the other in front?
    You the man. Peter!

Yes that’s correct. Technically one key light and a rim light but you get the gist. Appreciate you commenting and watching the videos!

Love this video! I feel like this will help me get my foot in the door for some Highschools or even small community colleges. Do you do any like this with pictures ? I want to do media day with pictures. I have an amarán 200d but i feel like that will only
be good for video bc it isn’t a flash.

I only do video but I’ve been on media day sets where we’re shooting both and a set with constant light is doubling for photo as well. Most use flash though, especially for photo only sets

Awesome video bortha! I was wondering if you could do a video on your editing workflow when using proxies?? If you've covered this before my bad! Just would love to see your process as its been years since I've worked with proxies haha!

It can be hard to find everything since there are so many videos, plus my process is always evolving, so I don’t blame you haha

I'm a beginner of sport photography and I'm was using the sony 70-200 f4 ii for basketball , however for some reason the dark line appear in the photos . How can I fix that ? should I enable the anti flicker or the var shutter ? (thx

More than likely because of how dark the gym was; I had the same issue on my canon camera when I was shooting plays even with a lens that had a low f stop which was a 2.8 lens. You have to mess with your iso and shutter speed; make sure you have enough light coming into your camera but your shutter speed fast enough to capture the basketball players. I would do a test shot just to see if it still shows it before each game so you aren’t stuck with photos with lines in them after shooting the game. Even if you have a lens that’s an f4, you can still get amazing shots just don’t be afraid to bump that iso, you can always fix the grainy effect on the images in Lightroom using the Denoise feature
