You're very kind...not sure about the "masterpiece", but better than the disembodied voice over an unchanging spreadsheet screen :o) Thank you so much for taking the time to comment.
I have just finished whole 8 video playlist and I have to say it was really useful introduction. I have not used SPSS before and after 3 days of reading up on stats and afterwards spending a day with your videos. I can say that I can start using SPSS and even enter and analyse a bit of data. Cheers again.
Thank you so much for saying so! I am glad that I can reach students far beyond my own classroom. If you get the chance, check out the update to this video. Just launched it yesterday: ruclips.net/video/_zFBUfZEBWQ/видео.html
I asked my professor to help me figure out spss and she told me to find a video online. My education dollars at work. I wish this guy was my professor.
Wow, even being shot 6 years ago these camera angles and difference in the way each of the angles is shot just follows all the attention-retention principles of nowadays TikTok videomakers for this low attention-span generation. Good job being ahead of time and thank you for this tutorial, super useful
Thank you so much for your SPSS videos, Dr. Todd. I am currently in a Quantitative Research Methods course in my doctoral program, and I do not understand Quantitative Research Methods. After watching your videos, I am starting to know how to use the SPSS program. Thank you so much, Dr. Todd; I am no longer frustrated with my course in Quantitative Research Methods. I will continue to follow you and your videos throughout my doctoral journey 😊
thank you, dr. todd daniel! i watched these videos in my second year of university and i am returning to them again as i wrap up my fourth. they've always done me well, thank you so much to you and your team for doing such a stellar job!
Thanks so much. I started stats for my criminology degree this week ( 2nd year) i feel lost and terrified. I will keep watching your vids, i appreciate it so much.
Sending you lots of encouragement for your stats course this semester. Hope that you find some answers and assistance from the videos (and please tell your colleagues). You will do well!
This professor has the incredible gift to be authoritative and pleasant from the first second.God only knows how much appreciated his lessons have been. I wish I could had someone like him in my stats course at uni. Thanks so much, prof. from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you for these videos! People learn differently, and this class has shown me that I am not a person who learns from textbook instructions on how to use an interface. I needed to learn SPSS 'mindlessly' before applying it to meaningful research.
I may not attend Missouri State but I attend Morehead state and this is helping me with my statistics for psychology. I'm very thankful for this video. 😁
Once as Turkish Sufi Mevlana said: "It does not matter how much or well you know; Your knowledge is as much as understanding of the others" You are a good teacher Mr. Daniel. Thanks for the tutorials.
Hey Todd Daniels! Imagine my surprise when I google help for SPSS and I see your face. I has been awhile. Thanks for the help. You are a great teacher!
I much appreciate the endearing attempt to spice up the statistics-content with a mélange of wackiness in camera angles, movement, colors, fonts, and implausible music. It comes across as kindness. If the video was as slick as an Apple ad, that wouldn't make sense; instead the vibe is of a scientist-statistician I can trust. And: the content's great! Thanks.
Thanks for the comment. And thanks for being generous about the production quality. I just posted the first video is a brand new series about SPSS that will replace this series. Hope you can check it out: ruclips.net/video/gyzTW08IceU/видео.html
Thank you for making my life easier. I almost made a beeline for the door and abandon my masters in psychology when I saw the Research Methods module content. But with this, I will be fine.
This is helpful, but everyone here should try to learn Pandas or R instead. This wonderful tutorial is giving you the impression that learning SPSS is the right thing to do
Glad to hear that the videos are helping. I created them originally because of the "high variability in teaching quality" that I had experienced. We have to help each other
You are doing God's work here on earth. You are advancing mankind from the stone ages. You have contributed to the Galactic Federation knowledge hub. This is why Americans are the greatest people on earth.
Greetings everyone! I watched video 04 first before watching 01 and will follow for its reward so that I may do well in class and the language to better understand stats and their purpose. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for the lessons...your explanations are simple and understandable for those totally unfamiliar with SPSS. Thank you again..you are a life saver!!!
This video reinforced what I taught myself with regards to more information regarding types of variable measurements. Also, the instructor explained using histograms instead of frequencies for continuous variables. Thanks much!
Thank you for the great videos! They have been really helpfull for the data analysis I have to do in my internship, my supervisor made me learn SPSS and I already know more then her thanks to your video's!
Where were you guys when i had first taken my research design course? I barely understood what was happening and the extra lessons from a different teaching point would've really helped.
Glad it was helpful! I wish I had something like this back when I was a new student...years of hard work and now I have something to share...paying it forward

Thank you for this walkthrough! Do you have any tutorial explaining how to calculate prevalence and its 95% confidence intervals by using SPSS? For comparison between groups (eg, male vs. female) which statistical test can I use to identify the statistical difference between prevalences?
Assuming that what you describe as "prevalence" is a scale-level variable that is being measured, then you would compare the scores of males vs. females using an independent samples t test. And, yes, we do have videos about t tests. Should be available with a quick search. Wish you the best with your project.
I find this series of video very useful and concise!! Thank you very much! I would like to suggest may the slides presented in the video be uploaded to google drive in PDF format also? I would like to jot notes on those slides while listening. Thank you very much for your generosity.
Sir we have a query, we asked 25 questions to 400, and there is 4 category in age groups 20-25, 25-30, 30-35, we want to calculate mean and standard deviations of opinion of each age group.
Please I have more than 50,000 questionnaires that i will like to analyze using spss with chi square as methodology but spss can't take up to that data point using chi square. please is there any way i can go around this?
Two camera angles + a shaky black and white hand cam?! This guy takes stats seriously. Respect.
need more context
The shaky one made me a little sea sick!
The fact that he is still replying to the comments is so sweet. Thanks for the video.
Any time! Yeah, these go way back but people are still watching. Thanks so much for commenting
I've learnt more in this 10 minute video than in a semester course in Statistics. Simply explained, easy to follow and understand. Thank you!
same here
Exactly.
came here to learn SPSS and instead got a cinematic masterpiece
