Can you fly the Mavic Mini in strong wind? No! This tremendous little bit of kit actually copes surprisingly well with the strong winds. I do my usual wind test with the new Mavic Mini to see if you can fly in windy conditions but things don't go quite to plan. Mavic Mini Blowaway!
That said, This video also shows you what to do if your drone is being blown away.... :)
The manual and specs do state max wind 8m/s (18 mph / 29 mph) and not to fly the Mavic Mini in windy conditions so you've been warned!

Happy flying guys.... Ian Наука
I love this tremendous little drone! But today I found out its wind limitations good and proper. In fairness it actually flew beyond its spec'd abilities so this is far from a fail! What's your thoughts?
Oh dear.... thanks to you for showing us the limitations of the mini in strong winds!! :-). Glad you were able to recover!! :-)
Cheers Howard. Yeah, I knew it wasn't going to do too well.... But know the limitations and fly accordingly 😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 chat soon fella
Ian in London my thoughts
Common sense tells me 249 grammes in wind is a no go !
I don’t have to have hundreds of yt videos telling me the mavic don’t fly in wind get a grip people read the manual it states 8mph
Make a video of how well it fly and don’t hover over the points that we all know !
s j c ... Ian clearly knew it wouldn’t perform well in these conditions and kindly reminded us not to bother risking our money on windy days. I’m happy to see these devices tested to their limits. Ian did it so we didn’t have to. Ian... Thank You and Merry Christmas 🎄
Did the same test about a week ago and came to the same conclusion. I wasn’t sure I was going to recover my Mini. It was going backwards and somewhat sideways. Probably was lucky that the wind eased down a bit and I could get it back home safely.
Thanks Ian in London for sharing your experience.
It clearly states in the manual that this drone shouldn’t be flown in winds over 8 m/s or 18mph so I’m not sure how it “failed” when it’s being flown outside of the manufacturers guidelines
Fair point!! So I've just removed the word 'Fail' from the title as it still did good considering its specs! Cheers, Ian
Ian in London it was still a good test to see how it would perform in much higher winds and hopefully people will learn from watching this instead of losing there drone . 👍🏻 ATB
@@bikerforever68 That was the main reason for this video. I'd heard some people were struggling and as long as you know the specs and limitations you fly accordingly. Cheers 👍🏻👍🏻
@@IaninLondon respect for that, it's a sweet lil baby drone, not for adult winds..
Sweet
And clearly everybody reads the manual for every single product 🙄
I don’t understand it when you get a video that gives a negative about this little drone & when it’s compared to higher end drones that cost in some cases 4x as much. I’ve watched videos of people complaining it hasn’t got certain features as some of the more expensive drones such as the follow me mode & more anti crash sensors. It’s a £400 drone coming in at 249g which would surely go up in both cases in weight & cost if you were to add all these things into it. I say we count our blessings & give this thing the accolades it deserves. Love the view by the way.
I think you can see from my collection of videos on the Mini I'm definitely a fan of its capabilities for its size and price. Cheers for the good words 👍🏻👍🏻Ian
Mark & Sue Parker agree
Why do people try find faults with this drone
It's a good drone... but it is nice to see someone test it's limits, thanks for the video.
@@steveo726 reason being some people glass half full or half empty no matter what it is in life they allways find something wrong with anything & everything
I disagree partly. You said in both cases, it would go up in weight AND cost, but the active track is a software implementation, which does not add any weight and cost.
9:20 Your dogs had me dying. 😂🤣😭
I need to turn round a bit more when filming 😂😂
Was going to comment about that. Dogs gonna do what a dog's gonna do LMAO!
@@werecow68 Actually they were just doing their dominance thing.... All for show 😂😂
Ian in London They sure showed us haha.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed 😂
I have a solution . Don’t fly in high winds ! I can’t stand wind . A nice calm day flying a drone is lovely .
Great little demo vid thanks 😁
Yep; spot on 👍🏻👍🏻
👍
looks like the dogs enjoyed it ian. good video
Thanks for your time & effort Ian.. The info is appreciated
Tuned in for Mavic Mini video, ended up watching dog porn 🤣 Merry Christmas Ian 🎄
I tried covering Molly's shame with a video thumbnail....😂😂😂
A very good demo of how things can go from bad to worst in a flash even when all was well planned out. Great video. Fly safe!!!
thanks for that wind test and nice work getting the drone back.
Great demonstrative test with Mini. Thanks for showing👍🏻😀
Great video as always Ian and good recovery I did think you were off on a long walk over the field but you managed to get her down to a safe height and bring her back, regards TJK UK.
Yeah, it was filthy muddy clay so I was determined to try and get it back....😀
Hi Ian, thanks for the test flight of the MM. Great to see someone using a little thought when carrying out these test flights. Quite literally a fly away but with wind assistance! However, you recovered it extremely well and did all the right things to assist it getting back. Impressed ... Liked & Subbed.
Cheers Nick and welcome aboard 👍🏻👍🏻. I try and do strong wind tests on all my drones so I know their limits.
Well Ian, I’m impressed with such a small aircraft handling such strong wind, I flew my new mini today, I’m impressed, how things are progressing is an eye opener. 😎
Father Christmas is bringing me a Mini next week Ian (hopefully - as long as I'm a good boy ! ) and your videos are so helpful and instructional. You are doing a great job for this community. Thank you. Happy Christmas to you and all your family. David.
Thanks David! Well as long as it's not windy you'll have great fun with this kit.... Have a good Christmas too 👍🏻👍🏻
18mph is the max speed DJI specify for the Mavic Mini⚠️😎👍
I've seen numerous Mavic Mini youtube videos where pilots are flying in 20-30mph winds and wondering why it's flying away!
I personally don't like flying any drone in over +10mph winds, it's just not a pleasant experience! I've flown my Mavic Mini in 10mph winds and it flies fine, it even copes well in +15mph winds, my 'Triple Mavic Mini' video clearly shows 3 Mavic Minis flying well in very gusty +15mph winds in a wide open exposed area. I certainly wouldn't risk it in anything stronger as they were pretty much at their limit.
The clue to it's ability to fly in wind are those tiny, very low profile motors, which are clearly designed for very efficient use of power and long flight time, rather than output power! Also those props are very thin and extremely bendy, cutting them into any kind of strong wind will probably badly deform them, leaving them permanently bent or damaged. 😎👍
I will be doing a video on this also as it seems s lot of new pilots, especially over christmas will be keen to fly their new drones and the weather conditions won't be ideal. 😊😁⚠️
Yep; this is the point I'm making; it's incredible how they've packed so much into so little, so don't over-estimate its abilities. Liked the 3 minis... :)
Happy holidays and a real happy new year Ian. I will continue following you my friend. Thanks for posting bro.😀😃😉😊🤗👏👍👌✌
All the best for 2020 to you too! Cheers for the comments, input and support! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great vid. Thank you! 👍
You have him back undamaged. That is a good landing!
thanks for sharing , i love that little thing and would hate to loose control over it
Ah, that brought back memories! Useful video!
Lol! Yeah I bet! Hope the car's on the mend Dewie. Have a great Christmas fella 👍🏻
Ian in London You too!!
Little bugger done well mate, good vid. (As for the buggery's at the end... don't give them Red Bull).
Nice one mate. Great video. Cheers :-)
"Not the classiest of landings" but beats trudging across a muddy field! Well done sir!
Ian quick question please
How did you blur of your reg plate and map of the video please mate???
I don't even fly my mavic 2 pro in the wind let alone my mini.
Yeah you can...... Watch the 2 Pro in Wind video... 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers!
Thanks for putting yours threw that so I know not too! Can't imagine the brain rush when it blasted past you.
I just started posting with the Mini today myself. Crazy little thing is a blast to fly!
Knowing it was blowing out over just a field and not the ocean or some big lake helped.......😂👍🏻
Ian, are you going to do a similar test on the Mini Air? I’m considering one as it’s been reported to be a little better in the wind. It’d be interesting to see your thoughts.
Great video, Ian. I learning watching you. I will only fly my mini 15 mph or less preferably 10 mph or less. Thanks fly safe.
Hi there Ian thanks for all your time & Effort .... that was somewhat scary but lessons learned not to fly in any stronger winds ....👍🏼
But I am sure with that said it’s still looking like a cracking we drone.... Hope you have a Merry Christmas 🎄....👍🏼😉😎
It's a great little drone. My only fear here was walking out over a muddy field! Have a great Christmas too 👍🏻🎄
Hi Ian! Wow! Risky!!! Thanks for the video! Cheers from Argentina!
Hey Gaston! Yeah, that was a fun cideo to film! Have a great christmas fella! Warmer than us :) Ian
Hi Ian! Yes! Certainly warmer here in the southern hemisphere! Merry Xmas for you too! Cheers!
GREAT video for ALL Mavic Mini owners to watch! Thanks for your efforts in making this vid! I learned more watching this video than about twenty other MM videos!
Thanks fella 👍🏻👍🏻 Maybe check my very latest upload on flyaways too.
Good HONEST review......my ol spark handles the wind well
well the dogs enjoyed it 9:30 ;)
Yeah, I don't see this stuff until editing 😂😂😂
Is that a Westie?
Westie, dachshund and a border terrier 🐾👍🏻
Good Test !
Idk why but I would be interested for you to try the ultimate wind test in Veracruz, Mexico. Cuz during the "Norte" wind event, there is continuous winds of 60 km/h (17 m/s) with gusts in excess of 120 km/h sometimes (around 35 m/s)
Thanks for making a warning video Ian, it might save a few people losing their MM. The light weight of it had to come with some compromises like this. Happy Christmas to you and your family mate.
Cheers Brian! Yep, hopefully I've saved the odd Christmas present flyaway with this video! Have a great Christmas too 🎄👍🏻
You did give the poor little bird a tough test, but both of you did well I thought, well done!
excellent video thanks ......brave man ...love the dogs btw
The dogs were loving the dogs too ....... 🤣
Had my Mini 2 up in 41mph gusts and it survived without any serious issues! 👍
Hi Ian - I’m about to buy the Mavic Mini and have watched most / all your vids on it - very informative thanks 👍
One question - is it worth me buying a signal range extender ( seen them used on other vids ) ?
I wouldn't bother with a signal booster. The Mini is great up to 1km and you won't be disappointed 👍🏻
@@IaninLondon thank you for your feedback 👍
Interesting and, I would say, a quite important test. No fun feeling when the drone starts to drift. Good to now its limitations. I still think it's a capable little thing. 😊👍
🤣😂🤣😂Great review. The dogs on the background was doing the hokey pokey. 😂🤣😂😂
Yeah. It was dominance playing, not actual contact thankfully! No puppies on way 😂
@@IaninLondon O ok. 😂🤣😂🤣😂. 👍👍👍👍
Dude! I'm so glad I've seen ur videos before start using mine mini... I'm sure it will help me avoid to blow my drone away... heheh.. thanks!
Thanks! Make sure you watch the 'How to Stop Flyaways' video and you're good! :)
It looks like the wind gusts were stronger than 30mph - especially over the exposed field. Great little drone ... Like your vids. Thanks :)
Yes, up high it was probably way higher wind...
interesting video thanks for sharing i can see a lot of fly away's with it but it is what it is lite
thank you !
Great Post.
Hi Ian, thanks for doing these tests so we don't have to, yeah definitely not a high wind bird, even my spark handles wind a bit better then that, not much though lol, happy Christmas buddy hope you and family have a good one 👍
Cheers Mark! Yep, it's for fair-weather flying.... Have a great Christmas too! Cheers, Ian
Ian in London thanks Ian 👍
Great video you could thank your dogs for making it greater at the end 😂😂😂
I had to edit out the more frisky bits....... :)
@@IaninLondon 😂😂😂
Great series of videos. Thanks. Just bought one to go with my Mavic Pro. Dont think I will use it in strong winds !! Its an old saying Never work with children and animals. Brilliant. So funny !!
I've had my Mavic mini fly more for 3 days and it's still in its wrapper in its box . I'm in two minds weather to keep and use it or send it back .
I think I'm scared of it loosing signal and flying away because of the UK CE model having a weak signal compared to the USA version .
Up until now I have one of those indoor ones that cost £20 and lasts 7 minutes in battery run time . I am really tempted to open up my Mavic mini box tho . Decisions decisions.
The Mini is fine and you don't need to worry. This video shows what to do about wind, and this link takes you to my Long Range CE model test; you'll get fine range out of it... ruclips.net/video/d_Oe4AnTWlk/видео.html
hmm.. mavic pro with obstacle avoidance ON does not fight the wind very well ?
Correct. Original mavic pro very poor in wind unless you flip into sports mode which switches off the sensors.
thanks so much for the video! what scares me are the winds up above....may not be windy on the ground but up above, could be bad....then it's too late. may get this one though as my first drone.
Watch my " How to prevent Flyaways" vid 👍🏻
Just seen you did! You'll be fine with the Mini 👍🏻👍🏻😀
Hello and happy 2020 mister I...!!!
I missed this one....ups..!! what a close miss it was.... Note to myself: Not to fly the mini in high winds....
Love to see Ted in the background enjoying all the adventure too LOL...
Hi Ed! HNY2U2! Actually I'm editing the flyaway adventure from midnight last night.... it got blown away again and we were hunting it in a field at 00:30 am. Found it eventually, muddy and scratched but not broken.... Really, anything above a light breeze means no flying...
@@IaninLondon Oh my..... you really like the wind...but not the mini... Glad you found it and of course only with minimun damages. That´s the funny thing with this little muffin; if something similar happens to the other Mavics.... it would be a VERY EXPENSIVE problem so... good enough to have it in the pocket instead of the Pro...😉 . Thanks for the wishes and keep hugging Ted in the meanwhile you´re editing..!! 🤗
Do you know what the wind speed at the beach was ? I flew this drone in 17 km/hr winds today managed ok but struggled at the same time!
In Iceland it would have been around 30 mph or 50 kmh easy. It was insanely windy but as it was an onshore wind and I knew the 2 Pro is great in wind, off I went and flew.... There's no way a 2 pro should struggle with 17 kmh winds; a Mini might if ti's gusty...
can you do this test with mini 3 pro drone
Done! ruclips.net/video/svkaTOjf3oU/видео.html
What happens if you fly the mavic mini at the park near houses ? Will the wifi connection be at risk ?
Shouldn't be too bad; the Mini doesn't seem to suffer much interference.
You are a braver man then me sir. 👍
simple, if you don't won't to loose your drone don't fly it in strong winds. Just common sense. good video very informative.
I've never put any DJI up in conditions like that, no video's worth losing or wrecking an expensive toy; but unlike you Im just a fun flier, no commercial pressures to fly from clients who don't necessarily understand the reasons for fly/no fly.
Enjoying your work Ian - keep 'em coming please. Especially those re smoothing out MavAir gimbal settings which were 24ct solid gold. I use both an android phone and an iPad mini4 - are the settings stored in the drone or DJI Go4?
Thanks Ian; will be doing more Mav Air vids in Spring. I've only used the phone so I won't guess on the settings. Although I would guess they're stored on tehe drone as you can't view them unless you're connected.... :)
Interesting that it could not hold position on its own with no stick input, but did better when you pushed forward. There must be a limit on how much power it uses to keep stationary.
Very true... There was no attempt to return to the last GPS spot when you let go of the sticks.... It drfts, then continues to drift.....
Wow poor little thing, still it's only a light one, won't stop me from getting one but thanks to you I won't risk flying in the wind. 😀😀
That's the idea Karen! It's still a great little drone; just fly on calm days! Ian
Every thing is scaled down , including it’s abilities, but, doesn’t take away it’s a great portable drone. We just have to all bear that in mind. That’s why if your into drones you may have a larger one to 👍
And that was close ! Lol nearly had to land in the field .
Some nice flying skills there, which saved your drone. Hopefully new pilots watching this, can see how easy it is to lose their drone, without flying experience in high wind conditions.
Hopefully not too many lost on Christmas Day 😀
Good video but one of the primary rules for drone flying is decent weather conditions; I simply won't fly in wind above 15mph. One reason is that the wind velocity around structures is way different and more dynamic than over an open field. Glad you got it back safely.
Thnaks Neil; yes, it's generally not a great idea to fly in strong wind, especaily so with this little drone. Always good to know its limits. Cheers, Ian
Glad I ended getting the Mavic Air.
What max wind speeds do you recommend for flying the mini?
If it's more than around 10 mph on the ground, or tops of treese swaying slightly, then maybe do'nt fly, or fly low and be ready to land in a hurry....
@@IaninLondon good advice cheers Ian
Half the reason why so many flyaways as there calling them 😄
Then blaming the manufacturer great video 👍
Hi Ian good honest review and I'm glad I've watched this one as I have been considering buying this particular drone.
I already have a yuneec typhoon h which is a great drone however not very travel friendly and definitely not something that is airborne quickly however no wind issue with that beast I actually live on the island of Phuket Thailand and anyone who knows this island also know it can be very windy here most days..... I have not seen DJI or a lot of other reviews on RUclips mention this issue about wind however it is very important to know..... I have also seen a lot of DJI Mavic mini being sold on Facebook second hand and wondered why as this drone has only been available here a short time..... Now I know why.... Thanks Ian you have save me wasting my money this is not the right travel drone for me 👍
Given your location, I think the Mavic Air would be perfect for you. It's what I use when hiking in Wales....
@@IaninLondon yeah I have been looking at the Mavic air but of course the price on the mini does draw you in however given the fact it has a wind issue not such a good buy for me personally... What your thoughts on the parrot anafi again another one that I am considering, I like that you can charge the batteries via USB plus it quieter than the air when flying ?
@@thailandtony from what I've seen, the parrot anafi is actually an amazingly good drone. But I don't own it so I can't completely recommend it... A used Mavic Pro would be another good option.
Similar issue today, wind just blew it away, I am returning it as it took 10 minutes to get it stable and fly back to me and it was not that windy
Maybe watch my How to Prevent Flyways video... This explains things....
thanks for the wind test. as with all things there are many different varying factors that can change upon the circumstances. the wind can be still1 minute and the gusting 25 to 35 miles an hour. I've seen times where my phantom 3 held its own in 45 mile-an-hour winds no problem at all and then I've seen other times where it struggled very hard yet I wasn't afraid of losing because I'm very surprised at how well it counteracts the wind. the designers did it very well job within dji. and concerning the mini I've seen many other videos I don't yet have thatdrone but I will still buy it because it looks promising. I've just been waiting for them to work out some of the bugs in the firmware issues. and I'd like to purchase the mini in the sky duo 2 and a couple others before remote ID goes into effect
It's a superb bit of kit for its price and size. As you can see in my last video on New Year's Eve, the wind can catch out experienced pilots too, but it's a great bit of kit.
dont expected it to be flying in a strong wind-, its a baby drone but i love mine
Noticed you went into the menu to switch from P to Sports mode. Shortcut is to just tap the Mode text top left of the screen to cycle through.
Thanks for that 👍🏻👍🏻.
Yesterday I bought it.. I did the same test and I was almost 1 second before I lost it... I decide to crash it for save it... Well the drone it's ok so about the crash test for sure its very good.. From 130 meters straight to wall and everything OK.... Just one question.
As I notice the drone is more stable at mode P than the S mode...
*I had P mode and when the wind was strong I change to S.. Then the crush came 😂.. What is your thoughts for highest places what mode you suggest?
Lucky to not have damaged the gimbal. The GPS positioning is the same for P and S mode but the sticks are far more sensitive and the drone will move faster....
@@IaninLondon Thank you for your answer.. Unfortunately in Greece gps work but not that well... My gimbal got outpositioning but no damage at all I just had to calibrate it and positioning it manual and everything OK... Have a good flights mate ✌️
Despite all that, the little guy is pretty impressive!
I don't get all the hate you get here in comments. Thanks for pushing the Mini beyond it's limits, now I don't have to test it out on my own.
I don't think I get much actual hate on here... But yes, some people don't realise I'm purposefully pushing things beyond their limits so we know what they can handle...👍🏻👍🏻
Hey brother it’s been a long time. I spoke to you when you lost the drone over cliffs. I was suppose to do a Harley Davidson video with my Mavic Pro. Never did it.
Hey big guy! Nice to hear from you again! And good to see you're still trucking strong :) Always time to do that follow-me vid on the Harley....!
I noticed you had to dive into the top right menu to switch modes. You can actually switch modes faster by clicking on the mode on the top left instead.
Yes, this was an early video. Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Super video ! Merci bien. My Mini was lost over a lake by a windy day... ;((
Sorry..... Maybe try again 👍🏻
Sorry to hear. Any chance to know what mph wind you were flying in when you lost the drone?
The app says “max wind speeds of 18mph” but the manual says “do not exceed 22mph”
In higher winds it fares better facing away from the wind. Have it go backwards into the wind. I think the area with the camera catches the wind more.
Watch my last video I uploaded 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wouldn’t really think of flying it in those windy conditions but it’s good to know it can handle up the 15kph winds for me it’s amazing for such a little drone not to mention the distance it can travel.
Me neither; this was purely a test....:)
If you are having a fly away(blow away) try flying backward. Thanks to the camera... it's much more wind resistant backing up.
well, it's basic math, the drone makes in perfect conditions 13m/s (ish) .. if you fly against a 13m/s wind that's 13-13=0m/s total landspeed
so with that in mind, the mini performed pretty well in this video.
Cant move if mm and wind is same speed. Mm max speed 40 vs wind 40kmh for example. Win2 situation no move myb. Unless mm speed can reach 60kmh.
now after update it flys much better
Thank you for the test. I believe the mavic mini could do better in the wind if the propellers were less flexible than they are now. Those thin propellers flutter too much in the wind.
AC only know airspeed
Almost a 'Dover' moment Ian ..
Except this time I could ditch and retrieve it if it had genuinely gone too wrong 😂
Lol Ian you made me laugh with the dogs and comments. mini is not good imo above 10mph wind. Merry Christmas :)
Thanks for this, always good to know. Oddly enough my manual that came with the Mini states "do not operate over 10 m/s - 22mph.
Having suffered my first blow away on only my second flight, I'm now paranoid about the wind!! Luckily enough I'd watched your video on how to handle blow aways beforehand.
Entirely my fault. Long story short, I'd checked UAV forecast, then walked 200m away from where I checked but up hill 200m - Battery warning kicked in, so I hit RTH, had RTH set to 120m, so it went up an caught the wind and away it went, so I hit sport mode and dived down as fast as I could and got it back....
Won't do that again!
The RTH can be your worst enemy, especially with such a high altitude. Maybe stick to around 30 metres.... Cheers, Ian
On a windy and turbulent day, during daylight, you will feel the 2,000ft wind in the gusts. Your anemometer will measure only the wind at your height above the ground, not the steadily increasing wind with height (it veers and increases with height). The only dependable way to understand what the wind is at 100m is to get a met forecast.
Yes. Indeed as my NYE midnight flywaway showed, th wind speed at just 100 mteres or 320 feet is often 3-4 times that at ground level....
@@IaninLondon Yes. That was a good lesson for us all :-/. I've just looked at the forecast winds for a military base in the west (not many military places are open atm) and the morning surface wind is only 5-12kts (1.15 x mph), whereas the 2,000ft wind is 25kts becoming 35kts later. The surface wind becomes about 25kts when turbulence picks up later in the day, bringing the 2,000ft wind down in the gusts.
Need a touch of throttle itll ease through it
I almost lost m y mini due to worsening conditions and wind gusts. the video is on my channel if anyone wants to see it. titled "maiden flight turns into panic". This is a wonderful little drone, but keep it away from high winds.
No surprises there. The winds up at around 100m we’re probably more like 30 mph which is well beyond the top speed of the drone.
Spot on. Check out the NYE blowaway I had and I uploaded the data to Airdata..com and show the huge increase in wind at 100m 👍🏻
I bought from DJI and waited a month to save 100+ so I wont be a verified purchase on Amazon. I have a Mavic 2 Pro, amazing by any standard for under 1500.00, and a Tello for 100.00. My little mini had it’s first real maiden voyage today, 15mph wind, on a 50 degree day. I used 1 battery playing with it for an hour or less, not in the air that long, just testing. I got the flymore combo so with the prop guards on it went 7mph into the wind and 17mph back with the wind. In sport mode. With the guards off it went 17mph into the wind and 25mph back, I left them off. In Cinematic mode the video quality is amazing at 2k, I was able to adjust the exposure to perfection almost (will fix in post) with no ND Filters. I made it hover in the 15mph wind straight on for a while getting crazy detail (for any price), the video is rock solid, not a blip, shimmy, or waver, it does not need to be better than this for any hobbyist, just killer. Flies great in the house, super fun, every bit a DJI drone in terms of stability inside or outside. You WILL NOT be disappointed unless you are a filmmaker in need of 4K or better video in wind better than 15mph. This is NOT a toy drone, but it IS the perfect beginner drone if you can afford the 500.00 entry price for it (direct from DJI). Crazy what they did with this little thing as tiny as it is.
Hi Treg. That's great reading from you and really good to see you enjoying everything this tremedous bit of kit offers. Hopefully you've see the 'camera test' video I've done on the Mini too. You're spot on; it's a truly perfect beginner drone that will carry on being a great drone after you're no longer a beginner.... Cheers, Ian
Have you ever considered training your dogs to retrieve your drones?
Ted is all too quick to chase the drone..... :)
Well, is it a fail when it was really beyond expectations...and or the specs? Good practical test!
No, and so I've amended the title to remove the word 'fail' as you're right, it's unfair. It actually performed beyond the specs so I guess it's a pass! :)
@@IaninLondon well, a pass may be overstating it...lol!
Hmm, at the beginning of the video you state the winds are 20 to 25 mph with gusts over 30, considering the top speed is stated at 29mph if say it faired quite well, especially as it kept saying the wind was too strong and to land as soon as possible.
At the end of the video you state the wind is 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25mph. It looks quite windy so I expect your statement at the begining of the video was correct.
Yes; I do'nt think I made the point clear enough, it actually flew beyind the specs and did as well as it could have been expected.....
