I think that your human flight members can show up on the TAD datalink, but you each need to go into the option in the TAD (can't remember the exact button, maybe SADL?) and set an ownship name.
It's been a minute since I tried, but if you feel a need to hook your flight members (be sure to give them a friends and family discount) I think this will let you do it.

Another thing I also do is to set GUN CROSS OCCULT to "N" in IFFCC menu.
What this does is if you are in the CCIP master mode, the SPI in the HUD will not disappear if you place your gun cross over it. It's useful during the night gun run and some shitty weather.
Note: You HAVE to be in the CCIP master mode, it's not gonna work if you are in the gun master mode.
