I spent so much time on that meme in the beginning. Please appreciate it. I wish this video was as decisive as it should be, but I aint going to lie to yall.

@@checksixivan4921 unsure. Might be
The internals are not the same. -Jackson
Thanks, so do you know if the Kepler 22 does NOT have the “click” center detent “gimbal” issue as the PRO? It looks like it does not have the same shaft into the base.
I have a real A model SSC base, but finding a grip has been nigh unto impossible. At least for me, 100% unobtainium. So, I have a Tian Hang grip ordered and Chris's VFT and base. I also, unfortunately, ordered the Tian Hang base. I didn't realize there was a hard center detent on that one, which sucks. :( Oh well, I know Chris's will rock, and I'm looking forward to it! @@NegdoshaManidothis is Jackson. Yeah, good luck with a real grip. A model grips are easy to find but good luck with finding a C model. Have you wired the ssc for the sim yet? I would ask around the facebook groups for a grip. The only way to get one is to catch someone selling it leaving the hobby.
@@airhog8161 Hi Jackson! No, I have not wired the ssc for sim use yet. I've been waiting for a grip to get serious about that. I'm not on Facebook anymore, but I stick my head into the Viperpits forum on occasion, hoping for one to show up there. I'll have to settle for the Invictus and Tian Hang combo, which still pretty dang ok, until I find a real grip! : )
Thanks for the great info…do either of the bases work with a WinWing grip?
@@checksixivan4921 no.
Thank you for the fair and well done review. I’ve got the stand alone board mostly working. I just have one more issue to solve. I’ll be releasing it soon, and it is backwards compatible with the 2.0.
Damn damn damn, was really hoping that Tianhang hit the nail on its head with his fssb! As I dont want to mess with the shitty thrustmaster software. Guess we’ll have to wait for a v3.0 then. Or maybe till Tianhang comes out with a v2🤞🏻 Anyways, thank you both for the reviews and hard work! You make choosing the right stick and base a lot easier!
@@mrscreaminghell both of those things are in the works.
@@BlackSockRepublic Ah ok, I knew about the Invictus v3.0, but didn't know that Tianhang was working on a new pro base. I was hoping to order the base and stick at the same time from Tianhang. But I think I'll bite the bullet and buy the stick anyways and wait for the updated fssb's. Buy once, cry once am I right?
@@mrscreaminghell I absolutely believe in buy once cry once yes
Now we know... the real grip isn't out of resin, it's steel??? Big THX to Jackson!
It’s not steel but aluminum!
Alright, to finaly answer the big question I wrote a email to Essex industries (the manufacture), they told me it's out of aluminium.😅
Yes. Btw this is Jackson. The real grip is made from precesion casted aluminum. There is no way to mill an object this precise so they have really nice molds. Then they clean it up a little and boom.
Essex also doesn’t make much of them. Mason controls does a lot of the grips. Essex really only makes the F-35 and F-22.
Could you please do a full review on your REAL F16 grip? Would be great!
Thank you so much both of you Jackson & David for this in depth comparison, it was crystal clear. This sold it for me, I’ll go with Chris’ SSC. Will wait for his own board as don’t really feel like hunting & messing with the old TM cougar. You guys are legends 🙏🏻
I used an Arduino
I don't think the Cougar HOTAS software is that bad. Takes a little getting used to you, but allows you to fully customize the Force Transducer effectively. I bought one off ebay earlier this year. Gets the job done.

Vinyl?.. I thought they were made of resin. ;) I’ve been loving the F-16 peripheral comparison showdown you’ve been doing. :)
@@tver thanks bud! Yeah the real sticks are resin, this stick is nylon. Feels great. If you have a carbon fiber capable printer, there’s a kind of filament that’s very expensive but prints smooth as butter and stronger even… that’s the best bet. My buddy Jackson has it.
Isn't the real thing out of aluminium? I mean... the throttle is...
@@memeswithoutcontext4716 I’m told the real sticks are resin. Lemme ask my buddy who has a real one. I could be wrong.
Awesome! Back at it!
Looking forward to the coming updated review. I have one of Tianhang's sticks enroute. I think his base will be the way to go for me (for now) since I can mount it to an aluminum extrusion on my chair. I think I'll ultimately wind up with an Invictus after I can get a townhouse or something and have the room for a full pit. Also because anything with ITAR controlled components is automatically cool.
@@ImperatorTheodosius stay tuned man!
I'm not sure how you can do a "definitive" review with the base bar-clamped to your desk like that. Of course it's not going to feel good.... You claim to care about "realism", meanwhile the base is wriggling around on your desk. These things require a lot of force to move. Mounting it inadequately is not going to yield good results.
@@atIas-hugged oh, really? That’s weird because clamping worked great with the Invictus. I was able to tell just fine… but hey, don’t take My word for it. Go order them both yourself and see!
Learn to code; stop relying on AI. Pathetic.
Cool review, but the F-16 in DCS is hot trash. It's not so much their fault because they need to use the fake public data, but there's more to it than that. The small upsides really don't compensate the endless downsides for me. DCS is an equally old sim as BMS's current architecture (and in many ways older tbh) so the "it's old" thing is weird. I guess for the graphics you can make that point. I didn't know the F-16 slew is force based and not deflection based (?). Have you tried it in sim yet? How does it feel? I really don't fuck with the deflection based joysticks, so the idea is really interesting.
@@ArchOfficial AH, I was wondering how long it would take to offend someone! Took longer than I thought actually. The irony of a mod of a game (falcon 4.0) from 1998 surpassing the viper released in 2019 by dcs was the butt of the joke, yes. I’m well aware BMS is better than DCS. It’s a little of both. It deflects more than the almost completely rigid slews in the hog and eagle, but it’s still technically a force transducer. It works incredibly well, so well in fact that when delta sim releases theirs (which will be a commercial version of the viper slew) I might see if I can engineer it into my a10 throttle.
@@BlackSockRepublic Not offended, I just see this argument a lot and I found it weird someone who clearly fucking knows a little bit is making it. The irony went over my head, apologies. It's hard to tell nowadays what's a joke and what's just retarded. Sounds sick. I wish I could try something like that. Money's not a particular issue, although there's only so much you can spend before you can't justify it; besides, I don't have space for *another* rig. So STECS it is for me... Some day.
@@ArchOfficial man I was lusting after the STECS so hard… ….in 2019. God. They took SO LONG to make that… The delta sim slew will be in the 150 dollar range and well worth it IMO. snag it when it shows up.
Daaaaamn inconclusive! I am just as sad as you are, maybe your more upset, but I will give you a hug to make you feel better, its upsetting that its not cut and dry on which is better

@@dev1360 aw that blows man!
Do you know any planning on making a realistic f-16 throttle grip? I’m not really happy with any of the current options.
@@robertsolomon2271 I’m not sure what you’re asking. The actual assembly of the TQS or the grip itself? You can get a realistic TQS from Ben Dickensen, as for the grip… I think he 3d prints the shell and you could put real switches in it. Jackson can help you there.
Bummer about the center breakout force...now I'm asking myself if I should cancel my TH PRO base order and just wait for the VFT 3.0.
@@callsignbh it might not be so bad once it’s mounted. Then again it might. The vfs3.0 is a long way away
Congrats, Captain!
@@EnigmaticPenguin thank you so much :)
Dang, man. I friggin hate hard center detents. I fly the A320 irl and I actually paid attention to the feel of the stick the other day. There is a center detent, but it's super soft and you move in and out of it almost without noticing. I ordered the Tianhang SSC last night but, well, I'm a bit of a flightsim gear whore so I might end up ordering the Invictus one too. I look forward to your in-pit review. So, which mounting option do you think will work best in your pit? The TH has that bottom plate that extends forward, and the Invictus has the plate that extends downward and attaches to the pit sidewall. The TH looks like it might conflict with the right AUX panel, but tough to say until I get mine. Thanks for the video, man! And congrats on the left seat!
@@NegdoshaManido thanks dude! I’m a 320 guy as well! As for mounting I’m unsure… both sticks will require some pretty major surgery to the pit to make work but “ha ha jigsaw go brrrrr” and I have plenty of scrap wood so I’ll make it work. It’ll be in my adder fanged series, what I decide to do with it. Something. Idk what. Something.

@@The_ViperProject I was too, to be honest. If you’ve got the money, getting your hands on an old cougar is worth it just to harvest the board…. And then you can go the VFS route. Chris has a lot of stuff going on though, and said don’t expect the 3.0 for a couple of months sadly :/

@@memeswithoutcontext4716 thank you so much! Def green. Always been a green guy.
I got a good tip on one of the building groups, leave the back of the panels unpainted and then use LED strips for the backlighting. Makes the wiring massively easier, and for funsies you can easily use RGB LED strips.
@@LtShifty jeah good tip, but there are a few problems with that. If you want to light out a potentiometer or anything round you'll have problems, it could also hotspot text passages. And if you use bothe, single LEDs and strips you will not get the colour or lighting correct. But the colour choice option is pretty cool. :)
@@LtShifty oh I dig it! I plan to get a laser and start making my own so I’ll experiment :)
@@memeswithoutcontext4716 that's a good point actually, I hadn't thought about the rotary lighting. That's a way off in my build yet, I've also cut all my panels with LED holes so I have the option to spray the panels and install them if needed.
You’re in FL. Consider painting what you can’t see. It’s not just for looks. It seals the wood/mdf and that is a good thing in preserving your hard work. Do what you want as it is your build. However, if efficiency is important you’ll agree it is more efficient to build once and build right. Anything worth doing is worth doing right as the saying goes.
@@billcedarheath387 ooohhhhhhhh you right, you right. I’m def going to. Good looking out.
