Thank you for getting straight to the point. So many people make these videos and although they can be helpful they're too long! So thank you, the tips were so helpful and clear. This will definitely help me when planning my next vacay!!
With 300 miles normally your looking at 50 cents a mile for car depreciation so I would hope the owner is getting 150 dollars if that is the miles driven. For a three day rental I would place the value at 50 dollars a day
I'm not sure what the minimum age is for Turo, but I'm 19 and I was able to rent a car. I rented a 2011 Nissan Xterra, so it didn't have AUX or bluetooth. My host included a vent mount and an AUX/bluetooth to FM adapter, so that was very nice.
When to ny to visit my mom I rented a bentley continental from turo from a guy in New Jersey he charge me $250 per day and a $700 deposit and I had no issue in total I spend $2700 for 10 days after I return the car I got my $700 back
@Ray Field yes every car you rent you gotta put a deposit if the owner ask for it some do some don’t but if it’s expensive cars then yes 10/10 they ask for deposit and for the days you gonna use it so deposit plus the days you gonna use it right now I’m in ny and I rented a Porsche Panamera 2018 the guy wanted $650 of deposit and I rented it for 10 days I’m on my 5 day and I pay $140 a day but yes every luxury fast cars or super car will require a deposit but if you get a a Toyota or Honda no deposit needed
I looked up for this video to get a better understandig about Turo, if he wouldn't have said Turo I would have thought he was talking about Zipcar lol With Zipcar you have 8 dollars membership fee, tools can be added to you trip even two months after you had rented the car, 180 miles limit (really?). What I've seen good about Turo is that you can rent budget cars, not like Zipcar where you have between a Honda Civic and a Mercedes-Benz GLE! I'm going to try it now that I'm moving out of NYC, if works that would be ideal! Thanks!
I'm from dallas and you 100% don't have to take tolls to get ANYWHERE in the dfw metroplex lol next time use your maps and change the settings to No Tolls and that'll save you money next time lol
One thing that happened to me was I was charged in full BEFORE a trip that I booked 5 months in advance. It was for the full amount for a 3 week rental. So I cancelled. Booking through Auto Slash /Priceline the total bill was only $50.00 more and I did not have to pay thousands in advance. Beware
idk if you mention it, but if you reschedule your rental they will do a separate full charge rather than the difference. say for example you schedule march 25 to April 25th and its 300 dollars, then you find out your car has to be in the shop for much less time, so you reschedule for the duration being through April 10th. you would not get the difference back, they would do a full separate charge for say 150 and they would take (3 to five days) refund your original 300. Lousy system, especially paired with an android app interface that makes the scheduling portion unecessarily difficult in favor of a "modern" interface. My first time using them a 189 dollar rental ended up pending on my account as 700 dollars because I had to reschedule because their interface twice. terrible service dont recommend
When you come back to dfw in your map app in your phone you can turn on avoid tolls on your settings... Dfw is pretty much a circle of circles, every thing connects to another freeway. I'm from dfw and I never take the tolls
Turo is way cheaper than regular car rental , so the amount weighs out the cons because for the same you would be paying 300+ more at a regular car rental place.
Turo is no cheaper than the average rental car company. They have comparable rates per day depending on the type of car you want. The only advantage Turo gives you is a wider selection of vehicles and the possibility of getting a daily rate as low as $27. Typical rental car companies don’t go any lower than $36 per day.
Pick up car at car rental center in DFW. Avoid the airport toll. Dallas car rates are very high. Rental center sucks usually has long lines. Turo is way to go.
I think it would be nice if the people who post their cars for rent would include all those things missing from the car OR list what’s included in the car and not included
PUT ON WAZE AND BLOCK GOING THROUGH TOLLS IN THE SETTINGS. GREAT ADVICE SOMEONE GAVE ME IN NEW JERSEY AFTER SPENDING $150 IN TOLLS BETWEEN NEW YORK & JERSEY WHILE ON VACATION. YES, THE DRIVE WILL BE SLIGHTLY LONGER BUT A SAVE IN $$$
No one has mentioned that AAA and I’m sure many other insurance agencies will not cover their insured , when renting with Turo. Just found out for a trip I’m taking next week. And Turo’s insurance prices are stupid extortion expensive. Like $1500 a month is what it can come up to if averaged out.

I did my hard research just recently and for most areas it is not really profitable. What is happening is that there is so much competition - the smaller fleets and owners of one or two cars are lowering their price/day just to GET BY and pay their loan and other expenses. They do not care about profit at this time. So there is a price war to the downside. This in turn is causing the larger fleets to do the same... in fact, a lot of mid-large fleet owners are SELLING their fleet to bring in income and to get out of the business!! According to the numbers of my local area - owners of 6 - 9 vehicles are only doing about $80 per month/vehicle @ average of 4 days rented ... to $118 / month / vehicle @ average of 6 days rented on the lower end. On the higher end; $509/month per vehicle @ avg of 4 days rented ... to $763/month per vehicle @ avg of 6 days rented. Remember, those are GROSS figures not NET - you still need to include cost of maintenance, gas, cleaning, repairs, insurance, parking, etc., which is about 67.5% of GROSS. Now, do the math...
