    Thanks for sharing! I just replaced this along with my EGR valve, alternator, and all 4 O2 sensors.

    Just did the sensor in my 08 Pursuit Magnum and wasn’t too bad. Unbolting the alternator and moving did help a bunch. Since I had the car in the air for the oil change, removing the old sensor was easier from me from underneath. Hopefully no more check engine light. Mine had 2 codes for the pressure sensor.

      Most O'Reilly's or other parts stores carry them. I will preface, try to buy an OEM one and not a generic O'Reilly's/Autozone one🤙🏼

    Thank you! You just solved my problem. When you THERE, what part is that? Do you know?

    • @JesseBusse
      @JesseBusse  2 года назад +1

      There's only three parts you're paying attention to, the tensioner pulley to undo the belt, the alternator which you take off to get out of the way, and the sensor itself

  • @davidd8435
    @davidd8435 2 года назад +1

    In your opinion does the alternator have to be removed to access the sensor. I have a car lift and was wondering if the car was lifted if you could get to the sensor?

    • @JesseBusse
      @JesseBusse  2 года назад +1

      There's probably a way but it would be a pain. It only takes a few minutes to take off the alternator

    Does the oil pressure sensor being bad cause oil leaks?

    • @JesseBusse
      @JesseBusse  7 месяцев назад

      It might cause a slight leak around the sensor itself where it seeps past the threads

  • @devonpledgure296
    @devonpledgure296 4 года назад +1

    Does it cause it to smoke from the Exhaust when you need a new oil pressure switch?

    Hello bro, my 5.7 charger turns off by itself and the only code that appears is p0523 (Engine Oil Pressure Sensor / Switch Circuit High Voltage), is that the problem of the failure?

    • @JesseBusse
      @JesseBusse  3 года назад

      That's the one. Basically what it's doing is it tells the engine that there isn't any oil pressure so the computer will shut the engine off in order to protect itself.

    • @christopherhuezo3485
      @christopherhuezo3485 3 года назад

      i didn’t know it could cause that, mine only show a check engine light

      My 5.7 Magnum is having the same issue. I turn it on to go to work and after about a minute it shuts itself off. Sometimes while driving it will shut off for a fraction of a second and then come back on. The check engine light came on once then went away the next time i started the vehicle. I do not have a obd code reader. Does this sound like the symptoms of a oil pressure sensor as well? Thanks for the video.

    What size socket did you use

    How tight did you tighten the new sensor?

    • @JesseBusse
      @JesseBusse  4 года назад +1

      I didn't don any torque specs. I just did snug against the block because the brass will strip very easily if overtightened

    • @tjghostchain6212
      @tjghostchain6212 4 года назад

      So I disconnected the belt and alternator but I got a replacement part form my local autozone. When I tried to put the sensor in to the engine block the threads on the part are all gone and so are the threads on the inside of the block! 😭

    • @JesseBusse
      @JesseBusse  4 года назад +1

      I'm sorry 😣, it's gonna be tough to retap the hole because if it's bigger than the sensor it's game over. I would say tap the hole to the same thread size as the sensor and buy a new one from a dodge dealer.

    • @tjghostchain6212
      @tjghostchain6212 4 года назад

      Jesse Busse man you couldn’t be more accurate! I went out to the dealer and got the part and it went in like a glove! Although I had to tap the block with a 5/16 fine tap. Finally got it snug against the block and now it’s time to put it all back together! Thanks again
