This video has opened up a lot for me and my projects! I made my own patterns for a TARDIS hat, Harry Potter hat, Marilyn Monroe themed tablet case and a million other things. The directions are perfectly clear without spending forever giving unnecessary details. Perfect post... Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video! I have so much trouble reading patterns. I mean, I know what the basic stitches are and I know what all the abbreviations mean, but put them into a written pattern and my brain turns to mush. Thank you so much for sharing your talent in a video!
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for sharing. I learned a lot from your video and can now embark on my next project with a little more confidence ^.^
A variation of color switching you might want to try out: with the carried color out front (as in your flat tapestry demo), bring the working color over the carried and to the right of it (I usually hold it with my right thumb), pick up the carried color and pull through both loops. This way the carried color is hidden in the back by the working color. Hope that makes sense. Great tutorial, btw.
This is extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing. Just one question: How would I be able to do this with multiple colors in a row? The pattern I'm looking at has a white background and several dark colors for the picture and some rows have 2 or 3 colors in it at a time.
Did you know, if you use waistcoat stitch or mochila stitch instead of sc it doesnt slant? The stitches sit directly above each other. HUGE difference. Im going to use what you just kindly showed me but in waistcoat stitch. Look at 'mochila tapestry crochet' It is so neat
I've been crocheting for couple of years now, yet I've never written my own pattern. I used multiple colors in a pattern but never like this. I've never thought about making my own pattern ever, but now my plan as of 5 minutes ago LOL is to make a messenger bag with the flap being done with the tapestry technique. Where I can create my own design. I guess it would be important for me to make out chart if I want the pattern to turn out in the specific way rather than going free hand. If anyone has any advice or tips I would love to hear them.
Are you starting your picture or from the bottom of your project and moving up or from the top? I have heard you start from the bottom and go up. I am wanting to put a logo on a blanket but can't figure out where to start. Thanks so much
Yes and no - in tapestry crochet you crochet over the "resting" color, but for Tunisian you'll want to drop it. If you search on this channel I have a video for Changing Colors with Tunisian. It's demonstrated using the Tunisian Simple Stitch, but it applies to the Tunisian Knit Stitch as well.
Would this work on a blanket I'm making? It's a picture of Bugs Bunny, and it'll be around 150 x 200 stitches with the tunisian knit stitch (which is actually a crochet stitch).
What yarn did you use? I'd love to try American yarn. I've tried getting somebody to post me some if they found any in bargain isle in walmart etc or swapping but nobodies interested.
YOU ARE BRILLIANT. :) Just looking at a tapestry stitch pattern today and now after seeing your video, I am not as intimidated! I LOVE YOU TK. This is EO, BTW. ;P
What's the difference between tapestry crochet, intarsia crochet and graphghans? Where wld I find free patterns? Does this not waste a lot of yarn if you were to say make a blanket?
Tapestry and intarsia are often used interchangeably. But tapestry crochet where you carry the yarn throughout is usually done on smaller items. Intarsia or Graphghans would likely use bobbins, so that the yarn is dropped and then picked up again when you get back to that section.

Same concept, just carry all the other colours under the row 😊

Que perfeição lindooo parabéns 💯🤗🥰
Can someone answer a question, my two yarns are getting twisted? Is there a way to avoid this?
The best way is using bobbins! ruclips.net/video/akQm79J2Who/видео.htmlsi=SaH7e7bH9BY2Kpx3

What size hook would you recommend for tapestry crochet?
The hook size depends on the yarn! :)

great tutorial !! thank you
how did you use a rope
I believe it was an H, but you'll want to use the hook that matches the yarn you're using.
Yours Works are Beautiful! I love
Thank you!!!!
This was perfect, thank you!
Did I miss something? I didn't see this for the rows. ?
You would normally start from the bottom up, though I am sure there are people who like to make them top down!
thank you !
Thank you!!!
Thank you!!! :)
thank you
what brand of yarn is that?
It's been a few years, but if I'm not mistaken, it's Knit Picks. :)
