I have watched several crochet tutorials, and this is the first one I’ve been able to follow and fully understand in just one view! Your instructions are perfectly paced, performed precisely, and described clearly. Thank you for this great tutorial!
Excellent video - I searched, and searched for a video explaining using 2+ colors without a million ends to weave end later. It's called TAPESTRY crochet! thanks!!!!
This is so wonderful thank you! Yes, tapestry is a great choice to avoid some extra finishing steps. Very happy my video worked for what you were looking for 🤗💐💐
Because I don't have the holed box, I'm gonna use large mugs/goblets to put the yarns and slip them to the handles. I think it would work nicely...well, I hope...LOL. Thanks very much for the helpful and easy tutorial videos! 😊
Yes, using the mug handle is a great idea too!! As long as you turn your skein into a ball first I don't think you will have any trouble, let me know how it goes :) Thanks so much again for this lovely comment, warmest regards!!
Your tutorials are great. The instructions are very clear and the audio and video are both good quality. Your English is also very good. No problem with your accent. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your detailed and kind comment Emily, I really appreciate you let me know the tutorial is clear for English speakers, I hope to keep improving, warm regards!! :)
Yes, I agree, it's a matter of practice. The idea of starting with two colors first is best. Then, you'll feel more confident to use more colors. Thanks so much! 😌🌹🌹
I am attempting still to make a hat using your technique of tapestry crochet ... but had such a mess with my yarn, I have "frogged" it and now have my 4 balls of yarn just sitting and waiting for me to start again. I am 78 years old and still trying to find containers to put my yarn in ... know it will be so much easier. I have never seen your technique before and really do like it but handling the 4 balls of yarn is so frustrating to me. Again, can you share with us where your "containers" came from. All I can find is canvas, etc. which is not sturdy enough and too tall to work. Seems your containers are perfect. I think your technique is going to work great in the hat pattern I have in mind. Thank you kindly for your time and expertise in making this video for all of us to "learn" more.
Hope you can finally go on with my last response Dot, if you can't find something as similar as my containers, try imitating the same system with a sturdy box and make some holes in it. Please let me know if you are able to continue with your pattern in a new try. I really appreciate you're following this tuto, thanks so much for your comments and have an excellent day! :D
I'm so happy now.! Maria🌹 Because I finally found, Where I can learn > "INTARSIA"~CROCHET." (& yes. it's at your Coaster~tutorial.) thank'you so much.!👭
Thank you so much for your beautiful crochet technique and for making this lesson easy to understand and implement! I’m now subscribed and looking forward to seeing more projects!
Thank you for your awesome video. I want to use this technique to make a tartan blanket. I have 5 colours and they are all needed in every row. In most of the project, I will have to change colours every two stitches. Although I think it would look amazing, it would be so tedious to handle 5 colours with so many colour changes. Do you know of another stitch/technique that would be more simple? The only other one I can think of is C2C, but it makes my blanket enormous to get even one tartan pattern across. I wish I could attach a file with my graph. :)
Thank you very much for watching! Maybe fair isle crochet could be a choice too? I'm not 100% sure because I don't know that technique that well, but might work. But I think you could use tapestry indeed, if you work one way rows and cut the threads by the end of every row. And those tails would work as fringes at the same time. So, you wouldn't work in the round, you would work back and forth but really one way only or one side of the work only so you won't have to pick all 5 threads from one row to the other. Don't know if Im explaining myself correctly, hope my reply helps 😊😊
@@MariaIsabelchabepatterns Thank you for the reply. Yes, I understand what you're saying. Fair isle would work for an article where you wouldn't see the carryover of yarn on the back (like a hat),, but not for a blanket, unless someone knows how to do that double sided. I thought of tunisian as well, but I would have dozens of balls going at once or a million tails to weave in. I'll try a swatch using tapestry not in the round and one way only. :~)
Oh ok, thanks for explaining about fair isle, I will go and learn more about that technique soon. Have never tried tunisian but I also know it has options for color work. Let me know how it goes with your sample, hope it works 😌😉
I think you could use it as well, by changing color by the end of the row to start next with the new color. It can be practical to carry the second color yarn if changes are every other row. If each color uses more rows it could be best to cut and add the new color every time you need. It depends on the look you're going for, yarn weight, etc 😊 thanks for watching!
Hi Linda, sorry but no, I just have the tutorial in the round, maybe in the future I can add the tutorial to do it back and forth, have a lovely day :)
Hi Dot, thanks for commenting, I'm not really sure I understand your question but you may find some more info about my work here chabepatterns.com/ Thanks so much for visiting :)
Hello. I am sorry my question is not clear. I was asking about the containers you place your balls of yarn in. I thought you said "book purses" that you removed the handles from but maybe I misunderstood. I like your containers better than anything else I have seen because they look as if they are firm which is what I like and the holes there after the handles are removed are a bonus. Thanks so much for this helpful video tutorial.
Sorry I was confused first Dot, yes, the containers I used where a kind of hard bags I had, my mom gave them to me but I don't know where she got them. They are good indeed because they are steady, which works great for changing colors. You can also use yarn bowls, or yarn holders to keep each yarn separate, and I have also seen crocheters that use rectangular boxes (like a shoe box or a plastic container) and make holes in it to pull the yarn strands out. Thanks again :)
Happy you found it helpful 🌷🤗. I always hide the beginning tail, in between last stitches of previous round, usually use a smaller hook or tapestry needle to pull it through 😉
I really appreciate you took the time to comment and letting me know that you liked the tutorial. And tapestry can be worked flat or back and forth, I have this other tutorial for that variant ruclips.net/video/_OWK4926gK8/видео.html hoping it is useful for you 😌🌹

Hi Rose, as you're wrapping more than one color, it's normal that they will show through a little. But if you think it's too much, then yes, you can try a smaller hook to tighten up the stitches, hope it works and sorry for the late reply. Wish you a nice day and thanks for following the tuto :)
Hi Katelynn, thanks for watching and writing. There are different ways of working tapestry crochet, the variation I'm showing in this clip, is in the round, in a spiral way, and taking both loops of each stitch. To get straighter lines, you can work in the round, in closed rounds (this is making a slip stitch to close each round) and just taking the back loop of each stitch. Have a great day!! :)
thanks for your tutorial ;) i have a question: what is the Number of hook that is work better for this tecnique with 4 color of thread? and what about the thickness of the thread? i Hope i use a good English and you answer ;)
Hi, thanks so much for watching. The best for this technique is to use the same yarn weight or type. You could use yarn as thick or thin as you wish, as long as the 4 threads are the same, and the best is to use the crochet hook that is suitable for that yarn weight, maybe .5 mm lower to make the stitches a bit smaller and hide the underlying colors a bit more. But that will also depend on the tension when you crochet, it's always good to make a small test with a few stitches (as in the video) to see your gauge and decide which crochet hook suits best. I also suggest using yarn that is not very furry so colors look defined. Hope my answer is useful, have a lovely day!! :)
Amazing! I work with two colors and I can't hide one inside the other. Little dots of color keep showing. What should I do to completely hide the colors inside the other?
Hello, I am trying tapestry crocheting for the first time & am curious how you end with the 4 strands that have been carried through out. Do you cut them just before you complete the last row? Thank you.
I cut them leaving 4"/10 cm tails by the end, and then weave in. I think it is better to have those longer tails, of you cut them right at the point where you finish they could be easily pulled back with use 🤗💐
Thank you, am doing better but no energy. kind of hard to bounce back from but i will be alright. Thanks, still not quite ready to crochet but probably will be back to it in a few days.
