I agree. But she probably did it that way for beginners, to make it a little easier for them to see the process. Honestly, I thought the same thing! For me, it made the beginning a bit too slow. I did really like how she made sure you could see what she was doing, while she was doing it, it helped to make sure you had your counts & what it was supposed to look like.
It is pretty and yes the yarn could be used with less waste but it is a tutorial. You can put the yarn on the hook right away and keep the ends shorter as now we know what the result looks like. Guys calm down. People like to keep watchers a bit in the dark till the end to have a bit of a surprise on the finished item.
Al the threads I cut off, from my projects, I don’t throw it away. I have a nice jar of glass, with a lid on. There I put all the cut of threads, and use it, when I made a little thing as a crocheted snowman, and fill it, with that.
Why in the word would you use so much yarn and then cut half of it off? Why would you use so much yarn in the first place if you are going to do nothing else with it/
