  • I live in Rochester, NY, where winters tend to be pretty dark and gloomy. Seasonal depression is not uncommon in the Northeast, and I have had bouts of it in the past. But I am NOT experiencing depression this winter, which has been wonderful! In this week’s vlog, I share a couple of stories plus the two things I’m doing differently this winter, in hopes that it will help others navigate winter depression or depression in general. And of course, it all relates back to your Bright Line journey.

Great video! We have had 1 day of sun and No snow in the Adirondacks. I have been super sad b/c I was expecting snow and some sun. My bad...
Have NO expectations and no disappointments, disagreements, depression or resentments. Or just lower the bar...

For anyone interested in OTC supplements, at least in the US, they are not standardized or regulated like prescriptions are, so don't assume what you're buying is actually what it says it is, or at the dose it claims. When on Lithium prescribed it's important to do regular blood tests or toxicity can occur

Thanks, Susan. That was so helpful as I'm subject to depression in the dark months here in New England. Will you taper off the lithium when the season ends? I would worry about a backlash.

The FDA has taken any products containing lithium off the shelves due to toxicity. If you think you need lithium, talk to your doctor. This shouldn’t be done without supervision. ( I talked to a pharmacist about it)

Lower expectations, lower results, lower rewards. If simply existing is your goal, then you have no complaints.

I know you're not sponsored, but would you mind sharing the actual light you use? I'm just wondering if the cheaper lights work, versus the pricey lights

You could also get yourself an Aerogarden. I heard people have much improved moods after buying large hydroponic systems like the Gardyn.

Please, SPT, and anyone else, I hope you have been evaluated and are being treated for bipolar disorder, if you have that diagnosis, by an MD psychiatrist.
This is a serious condition. Mania can be life threatening and lead to psychosis, requiring hospitalization and stabilization.
Many people mask bipolar disorder by abusing drugs, self-medicating.

Lithium can't hurt? It is a type of salt. It is extremely toxic in higher doses. Please do not use lithium without educating yourself thoroughly. Susan I wish you wouldn't promote it.
There are many other better and natural ways to regulate one's moods.

Right, thank you, I can't believe she's promoting this, especially when you never know what you're getting in supplements in the US

Lithium is a chemical lobotomy, and thats exactly what it did to me when I was treated with it. Couldn't stand how badly it affected my motor skills and cognition.
