I'm asking because I signed a contract with royalty percentage based on MSRP instead of net sales, and because of that, it was half of what a royalty percentage usually is. This publisher conducts many of their sales through Amazon though. So if what you said is true, I feel I might have not made a good negotiation.
Ah yeah possibly! It depends on how their Amazon store is structured (and a bunch of other factors as well). Generally speaking the industry standard is to get a % of gross: that is, what the published directly makes for the sale (regardless of source).
