Bought my Lure 11.5 (Winter Camo color) back in July 2017, through Hook1 in Hendersonville, TN, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I ord'd the rudder kit and installed it, and it makes a world of difference in keeping it on track. The 11.5 isn't hard to maneuver without a rudder, the rudder just makes it a whole lot easier keeping it on track while paddling, especially on windy days. I also use the foot-controlled rudder to drift and steer along the shoreline while casting/retrieving, when a slight breeze is at my back pushing me. The wheel in the keel is handy on grassy, smooth surfaces, but I transit a gravel parking lot from the truck to the launch dock, so I invested in a C-tug, which makes transporting it a lot easier. Very stable rig, and anxiously wtg for Spring to return to western Kentucky so I can get back on the water. Where did you get a solid color Lure? Thought the Lure's only came in the camo versions.
I have the Lure 10 and absolutely love it.. Very stable and easy to load and unload at any of your destinations.. I ordered a Island hoppers trolling motor holder that they offer built specifically for the Lure line. I will be using one this year to allow me to get out on some of the bigger lakes in my area... The pedal drive looks nice but it costs nearly as much as the kayak itself..
Brad Ewing I weigh 240 and find the lure 10 very stable and easy to stand and fish from.. But to be honest...your best value is to go with the lure 11 it's just a couple of hundred bucks more and you have a ability to upgrade compared to the 10..
Truly unfortunate that I'm on the east coast. I'm subscribed here on youtube and follow Headwaters on instagram and this guy, and presumably his entire company, appears top notch. This place would be my local b&m without blinking an eye. Yall out in CA are lucky. Wishing Headwaters loads of success and thanks for all of the great info.
thank you for helping me on some of your videos. especially since I'm a new kayaker. though i bought m lure 13.5 used and not new, im impressed with it. the reviews you do make it an easy one for when i will choose to upgrade it as well.
I like the Feelfree. However, there is one thing missing which a lot of other anglers kayaks have and that is - a live well, for storing the fish you catch. Was this an oversight on the part of the designers?
Id still have a use for that truck. I guess a stringer full of fish or a basket would cause a lot of drag. I should hush. I know nothing on the subject. Watching this stuff because I'm thinkin about buying a fishing kayak for mostly lake use and have no clue whats good or bad. Might spend $1000 or a little more.
I own 11.5 and best of its kind. Stability is one of top ranking Kayak. I can stand and pitch my lure precicely. Hook set chances are much higher while standing. Also comes with sonar pod which 10 doesnt have.
Wish the seat could slide in the lowest position. I'd mount oars on the accessory rails and really zip. That would be a lot lighter and more intuitive than the pedals and you wouldn't have to give up your fish finder
Hey Dan: Feelfree, it seems to me, leaves the peddler "blind" (fishfinder has to be removed). Thanks for providing good information. Also like your help/work with Greg B.
I had my 11.5 stored in my garage on it's side all winter. Till last week I was installing my rudder...i decide to put the seat in as well. An realized my seat would not fit any more.its bumping against the sides. Were the tackle cut outs are, with the chair tubing the part that curbs...very strange I won't be storing it on it's side no more
Kayaklure85 sounds like you have a older model. Put a piece of 2x4 in there for a day and leave it in the sun. It will pop right out. They addressed this In 2016 and newer models.
I am really torn between the lure 2 tandem and the yellowfin 130t. I like stability but don't want to get bogged down either. I heard the lure 2 is very slow but stable. If you could do a video in the future on the lure 2 tandem solo and with a buddy would be very helpful thanks keep up the good work.
Thanks for clearing the usage up, take it to the ocean. I'll have one thanks.

Do you have to be a big guy for 13'5? What if you're a small guy with a big heart that wants lots and lots of storage? I'm spearfishing purely, so I need to tie the yak on kelps, or use an anchor while I'm freediving, and I like to empty my catch of fish and invertebrates back every 10-20 mins or so, the extra space is awesome for that matter. also I launch from the weirdest places, rocky and/or sandy beaches, I enter where the waves break and stay with my yak for a little bit, then jump in when it is calm. so I was under the impression 11'5 is what I need because of its size, but after watching your video, I now think the tracking is a lot better in 13'5 in northern cali waters.
Does the wheel in the keel make that much of a difference when launching your kayak? Is it there for ease of launch and drag from the vehicle, or to just protect the boat from scratches? Thanks for the video. Leaning toward the 11.5, much is due cause of the wheel. Opinions appreciated. Thanks
I got a lure 11.5 two years ago. Mine does not have the same setup to accommodate the sonar or the overdrive.. for the custom bag, the paddle, the dash and the boat was about $1,300. I guess I missed the boat on that one.. Bummer
Bought a 11.5 a few months ago and recently noticed water in the hull, (About 2 cups) . I was told that such a "small" amount was probably due to condensation. My question is, how much water is no longer considered small. New to the sport but any amount of water in the hull doesn't sound good.
Great video! I know everything is on back order now, but I really want to order the 13.5 and wait until they're in stock. Question though...is it 36" wide or 34" wide? The feelfree site lists it as 34" wide, but you mentioned the 10.5 was 36". Can you advise which is correct? Thanks!

The lure 13.5 seems really low in the water towards the back. I’m 6’3 and 320. Don’t want 2” of water coming in through scupper wholes. Should I consider this or stick to Old Town PDL or Titan 13.5? Going to buy soon
