Thanks man! This is the video that convinced my wife I wouldn’t drown the first time I sat on a kayak. At 6’2” and 300 lbs the Lure 13.5 actually carries me and lots of stuff.
Great review. I have just got one of these the same but blue, will be taking it out on the sea soon for the first time I will let you know what I think. Cheers from west wales UK
Great Review! Thank you! Looking for info/opinions: So, 3 of us are getting our firsr yaks next year. All in our 50s. One has been selected - FF Moken 10.5 for a female friend of mine The other 2 will be for big boys. 6 foot 300 and 6-2 325. 85% of the time will be for rec use on flat calm water w minimal current if any. The other 15% - maybe some stationary fishing - anchored. We want paddle yaks only. Since we need minimum #500 capacity, and reviewed every single yak made, here was our original cut down list: The Lure 13.5 V2 Old Town Sportsman Vanhunks Elite Pro Angler Vibe Sea Ghost 130 Now down to: The Lure and the Sea Ghost After taking hull, seat, and user weight and subtracting it from the max, the Sea Ghost had a lot more usable weight remaing. That being said, take me for example -with the Lure Id have #65 pounds left to reach capacity. Usually id just have a drink cooler, beach towel, and some misc - say a total of #20 And if fishing maybe #30. Will I be stable leisurely paddling, sitting and fishing, just normal yak usage? Or will I be at the water line? We'll be on no rough water, no batteries and alike. Just simple use but need fishing yak for weight. Which would you choose and why? I spec'd everything out that you can but it's gonna be in the 20s next week and trying them anytime soon is not an option....for like 4 or 5 months. Any and all info greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the great review and happy paddling. 😂
Thanks for your opinions. Just picked up a 11.5 V2. Been out once. Love it. Like the seat. Mine isn't broke yet. Built like you, so something to look for. Thanks again!
Great review. I can tell you've spent a lot of time in the boat, and are speaking from experience. I'm in shopping mode right now, and your review is insightful, and will help me make a more informed decision. I plan to demo the 11.5 as one of my final choices.
great video looking to purchase a kayak soon probably have it down between this kayak the feelfree 13.5 or the bonafide ss127. if u have any opinion on which one might be better that would be awesome.
Very good video ; I bought my 13.5 recently and will do a video on it . Great info. Also with you about the peddle drive and I will be buying that once it gets released soon.
+Matthew Rodriguez Thanks man. Glad you liked the video. I think I'm gonna hold off on the peddles for now but who knows, could change my mind at any point.
Thanks Chris! Your missing a part on your track adaptors. Do you have the little rubber washers? That helps them from knocking around like that. If you need some I got them for you. Awesome honest review. God I hope that pedal drive gets here soon. They said they are assembling drives as we speak for our first order. Not holding my breath, but very very hopeful. The ones I demoed at Donner Lake two months ago was bad ass, and will be a real game changer for Lure owners.
Yeah, I've actually had a few of those wear out or get lost. You are right though, those do help them from knocking around for sure. Man I really hope those pedal drives release soon too. Lots of my fellow Lure owners are switching out to another brand do get into a Peddle Drive kayak. Most of them were fine waiting awhile but now they feel like they haven't been upfront about stuff and are deciding to make a switch. Personally I am gonna stick it out with my paddle for a bit, who knows though, I might change my mind at some point. Thanks for watching, need to get back into the shop and chat a bit one of these days!
ian Cuthbertson can you point to where that information came from? Like I mentioned in my initial comment, I sent them a message on fb about a release date...did not receive a reply.
Wendell & Sons I sent them an email as well and got a reply that they had “run into a minor hiccup and plan to release the first ones in early December” that was in late October. I am getting a Lure 13.5 very soon (already ordered it) and plan to get the pedal drive portion of the overdrive as soon as it’s released.
Great video! I have the 11.5 and I still have some discomfort on standing up but I think it's because I'm still new to kayak fishing in the standing up position it Is just a whole new experience for me. But I do like my kayak still can't wait till I can get into a Hoibe.
+YAKKin TV thanks! Standing does take some getting used to and the 13.5 is a little bit more stable than the 11.5 but you should be able to do it. You have to do it for a bit in order to get comfortable with it. Thanks for watching!
I agree 100% with almost everything. Great video. For those viewing I've also had my feelfree for a while (2 years) and I can vouch for the accuracy of this review. I am 6'3" 265 lbs and this kayak will take care of you on the water. I absolutely love the seat, I got mine dialed in right away and have never had issues (knock on wood) I also typically fish for 6-8 hours per trip. I also am disillusioned with the tease concerning their overdrive system (motor /pedal system) although they recently published pictures of the first batch packaged and ready for delivery. Great video Chris, thank you for taking the time to make this review.
Great review. My wife and I fell in love with kayak fishing and we're now in the market for two kayaks. I like what Jackson is putting out, but I can't swallow the price for two yaks. I'm considering the Vibe Sea Ghost 130 or possibly the Feel Free. Reviews like this are helpful. Thanks again.
I've done a review on the SeaGhost 110. I really liked that kayak. It is not as stable at the Feelfree Lure but it is much lighter. Both are good options!
I’m new for kayaks what kind kayaks Comfortable for fishing they have a lot kind of kayaks they are Confuse me I sow Feelfree Moken 12.5 V2 2022 Feelfree Lure 13.5 V2 Fishing Kayak 2022 3 Waters Kayaks Big Fish 120 Fishing Kayak 2021 What do you recommend
If you use the aftermarket track adaptors, I use scotch tape to tape the aftermarket adaptor to the metal track lock from the bottom side only. Then slip the taped pieces into the track before screwing in your attachment. It seems to work well for me. I don't use the little washers or mess with rocking the adaptor back and forth with the screw-on attachment piece hoping to get it into the track because that can be very frustrating.
Hey Chris. Just found your channel. Great stuff. I am in the market for a new kayak. If you had to choose, would you buy the FF or the Bonafide? Still doing some research to see what I think I want.
Man that is tough. Both are really nice kayaks. For me and the varied types of fishing I do I would stick with my Feelfree Lure 13.5 but it would be a tough decision. The Bonafide has some really really nice features. My suggestion would be go try to paddle both for 1/2 hour to an hour before you purchase one.
Hey Chris, great video!!! I'm in the market to purchase my first kayak and I've landed on this as my first choice. I live in Colorado and wind is my primary concern. This will be a fishing vessel for me. With my lack of experience, I'm finding it hard to pull the trigger on just one kayak. What would you recommend? Stability is the biggest factor, Colorado water isn't known for it's prime swimming water, but I would also like the ability to paddle back to shore swiftly if I need to when the storms roll in unexpectedly like they always do in the high Rockies.
This is a solid option man. It isn't the fastest kayak but once you get used to it, it really isn't that bad. I've done some long sustained paddles in this rig. I think the stability and the comfort of the gravity seat outweigh the lack of a high top speed. Also, be sure to get a rudder, I fish in windy conditions a lot and the rudder is key.
Excellent review video! I am curious about the GoPro or similar and the mount system that you use for it on the kayak. Thanks from a newbie to kayaking and kayak fishing in NW Lower MI.
Thanks for watching! I use a few different mounts for my GoPro (Hero 5 Black) but the main one is the Panfish Dogbone combo. amzn.to/2EkDKsR It works pretty well once you get the hang of it. Mounts to gear track so that is nice.
Thanks man, yeah they have been working on their drive for over a year. I think if they didn't have to worry about Salt Water issues it would be done but honestly I have no clue what the hold up is. I hear it is going to be really nice when it comes out but who knows...
First off thanks for watching. I have only been in one peddle drive kayak, that was a Hobie Outback that I borrowed from a friend while fishing in North Carolina. I was in it for over 10 hours and I must say it was a nice set up. With that said, Hobie's have their faults too. I have heard that the Native and Wilderness Systems peddle kayaks are pretty sweet, I think that would be 3 good brands to start your search with.
I think the AirPro Max seats that Wilderness Systems uses are pretty comfortable and they provide good back support. Don't get me wrong though, I really really like the seat in the Lure's, some people that have back issues though don't. I hear it is because the seat back is low. Thanks for watching and asking the question!
Yes I do. I use a little less now but I still use it. It's the boat I use for fast rivers or when I just feel like a paddle. Here's some clips of it handling a fast river. ruclips.net/video/Bjq58HVqSAk/видео.html
Good question... I prefer an adjustable paddle... I believe the one I have is 225-240. The adjustment is nice because if I am in the high seating position I can adjust longer. When I'm paddling distance I'm sitting low, then when I slow down to fish I put the seat up. Thanks for watching!
I've been throwing around the idea of getting the kayak for some time now... I really really like this review you did an awesome job Chris!👍 If you were to get a pedal drive kayak which kayak would you choose? just out of curiosity
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the review! At the moment the only pedal kayak I've ever been in was a Hobie (I think it was an Outback). I've been researching them though and I talk to a lot of guys about this topic and if I was going to get into a Pedal Kayak for myself I would be looking at Hobie and Native. They both seem to have the pedal drive down pretty good. Hope that helps!
Such a tough question. I would have to say that overall it would be the Lure 13.5. It is a bit of a tank to paddle but ive taken it down some fast rivers, have had it in really nasty weather and it still is my go to kayak. Hope that helps.
Hi i just looked at this video review after i got my Feel Free 11,5 and it is a great Review. My Feel Free have an electrical motor in the box that you have the fish-finder and the same roder as you. That is an amazing gear to have. My fish-finder display is still in that middle box and the sensor on a flex arm at the side. Paddle-drive is in my opinion way to expensive its like a bad joke that pricing? My battery is stored in the front compartment and holds charge for at least 8h. excuse for bad English i am from Sweden hmm.
Thank you for watching. Yeah some of these pedal drives are really expensive. I am a paddle guy for now, I actually enjoy the physical nature of it... Most days.
There isn't a ton of internal storage so you'd have to strap stuff down in the tank well. If you were doing hammock camping I doubt it would be an issue.
I can't speak from experience but that sounds like it would be a pain. My buddy loads his 11.5 on his Jeep with no problems though. Also, search Rhino Rack Kayak Loaders, manufacturers are making some really great gear to assist with loading kayaks on cars/suvs.
First, thanks for watching. Yes I will continue to use it, it is a great kayak. The ideal kayak all depends on how you use it. This is a bit long for small waters (ponds, tight spots) but is great for larger bodies of water like the California Delta or lakes. Having a peddle drive would be nice for some areas but a peddle kayak wouldn't work for the rivers that I run occasionally. For me, this kayak kind of is the best, most well rounded for how I fish. Hope that helps.
Stuck between the lure and the Jackson big rig have you ever used the big rig and if so what would you suggest I'm 6 foot 260 lbs so I want something that is stable I like to stand and fish
It hasn't been an issue for me but I have heard people say it is an issue for them. If you know that could be a problematic thing for you you might want to look into a kayak with a lawnchair style seat. If you like the looks of this kayak see if you can rent one for a day to get a feel for that seat. Hope that helps.
I got the 13.5 as my first kayak last summer and have only been out in it a few times and I find the back to be a be a bit low also. I found a video showing how to modify the seat to raise the back which I will be doing before next season. ruclips.net/video/WLIuKnK65Bw/видео.html
It's not horrible but in current or the wind it's much easier to keep the kayak going where you want with a rudder. It's easy enough to add the rudder later.
@@johnpuckett899 no problem man. FYI, I had that kayak for probably 6 months or so before I out the rudder on it. It's useable without one but I would suggest planning on getting one sometime down the road if not right away. Cheers!
Thanks for the reply. I have a Old Town topwater 120. That's not a PDL Drive. Is the paddle only I recently I had the rudder put on it. And it seems like I'm all over the place. I would like to find. A big wide Long Boat 12 to 13 1/2 the that you don't have to have a runner. Because apparently I'm not smart enough to use it. LOL I don't know. What I don't know. I guess I've only been in it two times. Since I've had the red or put it on it. I know we have two different time. Anything you should suggest to help me make it easy on me would be much appreciated. Thanks your friend from NC.
Out West with Chris would love to hear your thoughts on the pedal drive. You think our friends at headwaters would loan you one on demo? I'm very curious as to where the fish finder would go after installing the pedal drive.
+toolman those pedal units are in hot demand so I'm not sure if that could/would happen. If you were to get one you would most likely put the transducer over the side on a swing arm mounted to the unitrack, and your screen would also mount to the track.
I realize it’s 2020 in this video was 2017 I was just curious About Peddle Drive. I search 2020 inexpensive Peddle Drive kayaks. Anyway your video was awesome lotta information so agree with those proprietary crap I don’t know why a company just can’t stand by their product alone hope their customers out by installing customer friendly stuff yes stuff...... Thanks 🙏
I posted a review of the 2019 Hobie Outback (pedal drive) earlier this year. They are nice boats, a little expensive though. With that said, I still own my Lure and use it from time to time.
Thanks for watching bud, yeah I get the switch to a drive kayak and I am interested in what you decide on. Maybe you will let me peddle it around for a bit??? After you break it in of course.
Hey, I did get a pedal drive. I haven't tried fly-fishing from it, it seems like managing the fly line would be a nightmare! I don't want to discourage you from trying it though, maybe having a bucket or basket for striping line into would be helpful.
UPDATE: FEELFREE OVERDRIVE Welcome to the Feelfree Overdrive system - the modern evolution of pedal powered kayak propulsion technology. Designed to be retro-fittable on the Feelfree Lure 11.5 and 13.5, the Overdrive is a one of kind system designed to offer effortless speed, ease of use and accessibility. The Overdrive is expected to available Winter of 2018. Updates and other information will be posted here. Stay tuned, the modern evolution of pedal powered propulsion has just begun! If it gets into March without a peddle drive I’m selling my 13.5. This is getting ridiculous!
Yeah that would be ridiculous. I did speak with a dealer a few days ago and they said they are expecting them soon but even he said who knows. I'm not gonna rush out and get one but I'd like to see them follow though on the commitments.
The Lure is better fit and finish overall imo. The seat on the Lure is a love or hate thing... I love it and can do 12+ hours in it. People with back issues have a hard time with it
OH MY GAWD Chris you forgot one of the biggest saftey items for any water craft. You totally need a fire extinguisher!! Is the Feelfree Kayak BPA free?
in my opinion the Feelfree is made a little better, it is more stable, and has a better seat. The Big Fish 120 is less expensive and faster. I have a review of the big fish 120 somewhere on my channel.
Philip Anderson the lure was just to big for me. The wind would blow you around like crazy.. not sure how the bonafide is yet though its been snowing.. but im glad i switched.. I thought the quality of the lure was great but the bonafide by far outshines the lure
joseph chop what worries me the most is the bonafide is new. It May have some issues plus if I want to switch to a pedal drive I would have to buy a new kayak where the lure has the over drive
Philip Anderson the only problem i see on mine so far are the hinges on the front hatch.. when you open it to far the 2 latches will release and the hatch just comes right off.. other than that the thing feels pretty solid.. I actually had my lure up for sale before the bonafide was announced. I was going to buy a wilderness systems radar and sell the lure to buy the pedal drive
Hi Chris I follow you and Matt on both RUclips and instagram. My name on instagram is kayakfishingpapa I currently own a tamarack angler from Walmart and a hand me down pelican I purchased from a friend. I started kayaking probably 3 years ago and started fishing almost 2 years ago and I’ve been dreaming about a blue camo 13.5 lure with overdrive for about a year now. I got a quote about a week ago for all the things I want on it. 2600 but dan from Headwaters just did a video saying that you can actually upgrade to a dorado seat now. So I’m totally wanting that upgrade. I’m hoping to have it within the next month or two. Anyway I know both you and Matt have moved on to other boats and I’m asking you because Matt had an 11.5. Am I making a good choice. I feel if I got a Hobie it would a pro angler but that’s more than I am prepared to spend. I really like the lure because I’m 49 and not that nimble anymore so stability and comfort are my 2 biggest concerns. I’m like you if I go out I’ll be on the water from sun up till sun down and in a tamarack angler all I can say is when I’m done I can barely move. So again I’m prepared to spend approximately 2500. Is there a better option in your opinion. Curious if you had no boat and had under 3000 to spend and comfort and stability was your biggest concern what would you pick. I know I could go to Headwaters boat house and demo whatever but I’m working two jobs right now and that’s further than I would like to drive. Although I do plan to purchase my yak from them. Thanks for any input. And I hope when I get my new kayak to hang out with you and Matt sometime.
Hmmmm. So I think that the Lure with the Overdrive Retrofit has some problems. The steering control that they came up with a mess. Other than that it isn't a bad boat at all. Have you thought about looking for a used kayak? I'm not trying to turn you off from the Lure series kayaks, they are great for what they are (Very Stable paddling kayaks) but I do see used Titans in that price range from time to time. Also, I still own my Lure 13.5, haven't used it a ton lately but its still a great kayak.
+daddysealtx Jackson you would need to put a liner in it because there is a drainage hole in that front little cooler area. If you are thinking a live well for Bass it would also be too small. Hope that helps.
Thanks for such an in-depth and thoughtful review.
Thanks man! This is the video that convinced my wife I wouldn’t drown the first time I sat on a kayak. At 6’2” and 300 lbs the Lure 13.5 actually carries me and lots of stuff.
I'm about 280-290... How stable is it to stand on for bigger guys like us?
Great review. I have just got one of these the same but blue, will be taking it out on the sea soon for the first time I will let you know what I think. Cheers from west wales UK

Awesome man, glad the review was helpful. I do think demo'ing before your buy is a critical part of making a good purchase. Thanks for watching!
I have the 10 and the 11.5 in that same color. Love them both. Great video explanation.
Great testing, just out if curiousity to compare with myself how heavy are you?
Great information in the video. Just the type of data I was looking for
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent review, cheers.
great video looking to purchase a kayak soon probably have it down between this kayak the feelfree 13.5 or the bonafide ss127. if u have any opinion on which one might be better that would be awesome.
Just picked this baby up on a sweet deal. Can't wait to hit the water! Thanks for this review.
Thanks for watching and have fun in your new kayak man!
If you don’t mind me asking, what state do you fish in. Because were your at looks awesome
Great review. Are you still using this one or have you gone to something else?
Very good video ; I bought my 13.5 recently and will do a video on it .
Great info. Also with you about the peddle drive and I will be buying that once it gets released soon.
+Matthew Rodriguez Thanks man. Glad you liked the video. I think I'm gonna hold off on the peddles for now but who knows, could change my mind at any point.
Great review, thanks!
Watched your video and others which helped me make my decision I'm now waiting for delivery of my feel free lure 13.5
Its a good solid boat, I'm sure you'll like it.
Great video and review, Chris!
Greg Blanchard thanks Greg, its a little long but there was much to talk about.
nice review Chris
pretty extensive rundown my man. good stuff!
+Jim Cyr thanks Jim, tried to be as thorough as possible.
Just got a feel free 11.5. Can you tell me what spots to go to at the delta? I’m new to kayak. Thank you.

Found 1 online just now. Was thinking of getting a Hobie but this seems like a good vessel for the price.
Great video help so much in looking into my first yak
Glad it helped!
Nice lure man!! I just purchased mine the other day. I went with the blue Camo. Man I can’t wait!!!!!
You are gonna like it!
Out West with Chris Question. Can u install a power pole micro anchor to the back of the lure??
+RipLine Fishing yes! And I'm 99.9% sure you can even install it with the rudder kit installed.
Excellent review man.
Thank you!

+Kayak Chris thanks for watching and adding to the conversation Chris. I saw the same photos and am glad that they are finally getting them out.
I am of similar size to you, how stable is this kayak for you when standing?
Not sure if you were asking me but it's solid.

Thanks for watching! I use a few different mounts for my GoPro (Hero 5 Black) but the main one is the Panfish Dogbone combo. amzn.to/2EkDKsR It works pretty well once you get the hang of it. Mounts to gear track so that is nice.
Unitrack slides seem to install easier on the ends of the tracks. Maybe slot is wider on ends
Hmmm, yeah maybe so. Still not a huge fan of the unitrack though, wish they would have went with a more universal track system.
Man super nice break down. I can't believe they are so behind the curve on the peddle drive though.
Thanks man, yeah they have been working on their drive for over a year. I think if they didn't have to worry about Salt Water issues it would be done but honestly I have no clue what the hold up is. I hear it is going to be really nice when it comes out but who knows...
Hope you Keep making Vids , I’m ordering an 11.5 tomorrow, but I’m really wondering if I should go to the 13.5.
Thanks!
23:34 "FeelFree to ask away"... I see what you did there. :-)
Thank you for another great vid.
polecatizzy thanks for watching!
What pedal drive kayak would you recommend Simone look in to? Great videos
What seat did you consider to be more comfortable than that one? My back is junk so the seat is a big deal for me. Thanks in advance.
I think the AirPro Max seats that Wilderness Systems uses are pretty comfortable and they provide good back support. Don't get me wrong though, I really really like the seat in the Lure's, some people that have back issues though don't. I hear it is because the seat back is low. Thanks for watching and asking the question!
Love the width of the beast, any good for the beach or open sea water?
I know some folks who use these in the Salt but if it's a beach launch I can't imagine it being easy if it's rough at all.
great review!! so after 2+ years since this video do you still own this boat?
Yes I do. I use a little less now but I still use it. It's the boat I use for fast rivers or when I just feel like a paddle. Here's some clips of it handling a fast river. ruclips.net/video/Bjq58HVqSAk/видео.html
What length paddle do you prefer with this kayak? When paddling a longer distance do you prefer to have the seat raised up or down lower?
Would you recommend the lure 2 it's less than a foot longer with two seats. Also want one overdrive system
Man I don't know, that just seems like a lot of boat to haul around. Sometimes I feel like my Lure 13.5 is too big.
Out West with Chris yea. But I would use the tandom occasionally. My wife like to go out with me
Well if getting a tandem sells your wife on getting a new kayak I say Heck Ya to that!
Of all the kayaks you have owned and used which one is your favorite fishing kayak ?
Most days.
What motor do you have in yours
I thought it was going to tip on 21:10
Do you have enough storage for a overnight camping trip?
There isn't a ton of internal storage so you'd have to strap stuff down in the tank well. If you were doing hammock camping I doubt it would be an issue.
Has anyone gotten the 13.5 and loaded it on a 2016 Subaru Outback? I curious as to how easy it is to load and unload a 100 pound kayak.
I can't speak from experience but that sounds like it would be a pain. My buddy loads his 11.5 on his Jeep with no problems though. Also, search Rhino Rack Kayak Loaders, manufacturers are making some really great gear to assist with loading kayaks on cars/suvs.
Awesome, thanks for the feedback! Checking that company out now...
I would get a trailer haul it ,,,, protect ur shoulders , so u can cast when ur 70
Ok so will you continue to use it? And what is your ideal kayak of choice.
It does.i plan on getting the 13.5 by this summer 2018.in lime green.
charles robbins I
Stuck between the lure and the Jackson big rig have you ever used the big rig and if so what would you suggest I'm 6 foot 260 lbs so I want something that is stable I like to stand and fish
Michael, unfortunately I have not paddled a big rig yet so I can't give an honest comparison. Sorry man!
Bro big rig is the way to go for big guys. U wont be disappointed
Awesome video bro... Thanks
Thanks for watching!
The low back support on the seat scares me. Has that been an issue when your on the water for hours?
It hasn't been an issue for me but I have heard people say it is an issue for them. If you know that could be a problematic thing for you you might want to look into a kayak with a lawnchair style seat. If you like the looks of this kayak see if you can rent one for a day to get a feel for that seat. Hope that helps.
I got the 13.5 as my first kayak last summer and have only been out in it a few times and I find the back to be a be a bit low also. I found a video showing how to modify the seat to raise the back which I will be doing before next season. ruclips.net/video/WLIuKnK65Bw/видео.html
I want to get a Lure. But trying to decide if the 13.5 is worth it over the 11.5. Is the cooler and the extra 2 feet worth going for the 13.5?
Eh... The extra storage really doesn't do a ton for me. The extra 2 feet does actually add stability and the 13.5 is faster in the water.
@@Outwestwithchris1 thanks for the input. I want the most stability I can get.
Hey If you see this, please reply. How bad is it without the rotor?
It's not horrible but in current or the wind it's much easier to keep the kayak going where you want with a rudder. It's easy enough to add the rudder later.
Thank s Chris this being a older video did not know if you would see it to reply. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.
Thanks for the video
Can you add a pedal drive system were the pod is?
Pedal drive is out now ☺️
It sure is but I'm gonna hold off for awhile on picking one up. Thanks for watching!
Great review. I love mine. in the 11.5 - But like you I will be leaving FF for a drive kayak..
Thanks for watching bud, yeah I get the switch to a drive kayak and I am interested in what you decide on. Maybe you will let me peddle it around for a bit??? After you break it in of course.
Out West with Chris hell no!! No one touches my yak 😂😂😂😂
Yankee Tanker Outdoors I disliked your comment. Haha.
you cant dislike awesomeness!
Hey Chris, did you ever end up getting the pedal drive? I see you have a fly rod and am wondering if the pedals will get in the way of my fly line
Hey, I did get a pedal drive. I haven't tried fly-fishing from it, it seems like managing the fly line would be a nightmare! I don't want to discourage you from trying it though, maybe having a bucket or basket for striping line into would be helpful.
UPDATE: FEELFREE OVERDRIVE
Welcome to the Feelfree Overdrive system - the modern evolution of pedal powered kayak propulsion technology.
Chris great video, I don't know if I want this kayak or the big fish 120, what would you recommend?
The Lure is better fit and finish overall imo. The seat on the Lure is a love or hate thing... I love it and can do 12+ hours in it. People with back issues have a hard time with it
OH MY GAWD Chris you forgot one of the biggest saftey items for any water craft. You totally need a fire extinguisher!! Is the Feelfree Kayak BPA free?
Dammit, forgot to mention the fire extinguisher, lol. The kayak is made of HDPE and I believe that does mean it is BPA free. haha.
How would you compare this kayak to the Big fish 120?
in my opinion the Feelfree is made a little better, it is more stable, and has a better seat. The Big Fish 120 is less expensive and faster. I have a review of the big fish 120 somewhere on my channel.
Bought a bonafide to replace my lure 13.5
joseph chop right on. Those look like some nice kayaks. Thanks for watching.
What made you decide to switch
Great review. We have a few vids of the pedal drive in use. Check them out.
Thanks!
CAN YOU ADD A PEDAL? THANKS
Not worth paying $1,300 for it
Less junk more fishing... who needs a bet on a kayak??? And 300 lures?? Just saying
Chris, can the "ice chest well" be made into a live well for bait if I add an aerator to it?
+daddysealtx Jackson you would need to put a liner in it because there is a drainage hole in that front little cooler area. If you are thinking a live well for Bass it would also be too small. Hope that helps.
Aloha,
Have you taken it on the ocean? Also has the peddle system come out yet?
