    Cadence Fishing TV changes course this week. With the launch of our new range of Cadence Fly Fishing rods, reels and lines coming in the Summer of 2021, we head up to Scotland and to the Easter Elchies beat on the River Spey. James is joined by Cadence Brand Ambassador Ian Gordon in pursuit of a spring time salmon. Throughout the video, Ian gives us some top tips for salmon fishing, running us through the gear they're using, the flies, tactics as well as some casting tips. An enjoyable 45 minute video set in stunning scenery.

    I really enjoyed this film, never been Salmon fishing but the approach to tactics, tackle and the water holding features were explained brilliantly
    by Ian. No driving involved so nice application of a wee dram or two. Another Cadence winner.

    Excellent video with a lot info on salmon ( between drams) , and a good demo of spey casting ( after a dram or two) . I spent a week with a world champion caster , learning all the casts (single handed rods ) to overcome conditions , fishing the rivers with fly tackle and learning the casts is brilliant stuff . Real bar of silver James caught there ( after a dram or three) , was always told to release fish facing upstream -but maybe James couldn't turn upstream due to being "drammed up" lol .
    Hopefully more flyfishing videos from Cadence TV now ??

    I'm new to Spey casting. I've been single handed casting for years, (yes, I know while do so I've actually been doing Spey casting too-lol). I'm trying to nail down the technique. When I saw this title, recently being so enchanted with Scotland, I had to watch it. I actually watched it twice, trying to sneak in a 3rd while at work.
    This is on my bucket list. I figured with AC/DC and Spey casting originating in Scotland, I'd pay homage. Plus, everything I've seen about the Scots makes me want to thanks them for just being. lol

    Curious, I’m an American spey fisherman and we 99% of the time use single hook trailers, barbless even most often. Hooked and landed quite a few 20+ kings and never had a problem even with the single hook. Can you explain what the drive is in Europe to use treble and double hooked hooks.

    • @CadenceFishingUK
      @CadenceFishingUK  3 года назад +1

      Hi Rex, I've asked Ian to cast some light on this. He thinks it's merely a cultural difference in approach and attitude, nothing more really. If you're happy using barbless singles then noone should question it.

    • @oak8728
