      It happens; we accept it, and we should not rise to the bait. Understanding is needed: Sometimes people are faced with very stark choices, and they have to find a way to survive. The 50cents Army is one valid way, and it is far better than using some of the bad options which Winston has seen.

Use me as a example, my son's family name will be Song. no matter who I marry. And Chinese people think the succession of the family name represents the continuation of the entire family. So many Chinese people think son is better than daughter(because daughter can't continue their family title). I decided long ago that foreign nationals should only have the same property rights Americans have in their home countries. Mexico’s laws influenced me on that over 40 years ago. I am bowing to the wisdom of their countries on that one issue. They do not foreigners owning much of their country. I don’t either. Become a citizen and be subject to the responsibilities of being one. Know the language, be subject to jury duty, be draftable in time of war, etc. I am a second gen on my dad’s side. Both of his parents were from different non-English speaking countries. If they had not learned English they could not have talked to each other when they met. A country needs a common language so everybody can socialize easily. Language differences segregate faster than anything.

Do you get paid to lie, or are you just this stupid for free?
      HERE are the fact you propagandist. Read it and weep
      China has ratified the UN Convention on Drug Precursors. Precursor chemicals are subject to strict license requirements on production, sales, purchase and transportation in China. In addition to that, China implements a pre-import and pre-export notification system for dual-use precursor chemicals.

      @David Richards LOL You are so desperate. Instead of refuting anything that I said was wrong about their drugs business, you had dig around to find something LOL PATHETIC little troll. Is asbestos banned in China little desperate David? NO, THEY ARE STILL MINING IT 20% of world production and it is still in legal use in China. So how is this relevant? You want to go after every item exported that is dangerous from both countries? LOL You will loose badly, china's list will be a lot longer than Canada's
      This is about illegal drugs and the denial by the 50 cent army on here, trying to say what they sold was legal (precursor) WHEN IT WAS NOT.
      Now lets look at your feeble whataboutism, diversion will get you nowhere.
      Where is the link to this "aggressively markets it abroad" and it has to be current not something dug up from years ago? After all fentanyl problem is current. There really isn't much market for asbestos these days except in concrete pipe production, banned in most markets, banned in more than 55 countries around the world. You didn't bother considering that, you just have to defend their Precursor exporting with something. Do you have dreams of owning a drug lab? Member of the big Circle boys? LOL
      On October 18th, 2018 the liberal government announced that asbestos mining and use will be banned as of January 30th, 2019. Exclusions are the million tons of asbestos tailings located in Quebec which will be mined for magnesium to support the transportation industry. Also some specialized asbestos products such as those used in nuclear power plants will stay available.
      Great website on this, not government and they are the reason for the ban. Can't say you would see a website like that in China LOL
      www.canadianasbestosexports.ca/Home
      SO full ban hasn't happened yet, in force January 30, 2019 So they are allowing the tailings to have magnesium extracted.
      So now what is going on in China? is it banned and horrible Canada is smuggling it in with connected gangs? LOL!!!!!!
      China is the world’s number one consumer of asbestos. Rapid industrialization has created a seemingly insatiable demand for the dangerous substance.
      Here is a little gem for you

      @A Artisan You tried to divert China's connection to the drug trade like it's all legal it's everyone else's' problem, even officials in China know its' illegal, like a good propagandist instead just lie "china only sells the base components for it which is about as illegal as selling sand and sugar since the raw chemical ingredients are ubiquitous" There is a reason many countries source these chemicals from china, it's not because we don't have them, we have them but they are very strictly controlled. So drug gangs go where you can openly buy them for cash, CHINA LOL Now meth is becoming a major problem in China, so maybe they will try and do something. Your police are more about saving face, then being constructive. Much like you, you point the finger everywhere else to save face. Instead of being constructive and solving issues.
      This makes me laugh "your own shitty border security and your own drug friendly culture" China(which includes Hong Kong has a big meth problem) so whose country doesn't have drug problems LOL As for "shitty" border security, that includes China.
      This is the agreement signed on to by China, so I guess you can't point the finger everywhere else China has "shitty" border controls also
      ======================================= www.chemsafetypro.com/Topics/China/Drug_Precursor_Chemicals.html
      China has ratified the UN Convention on Drug Precursors. Precursor chemicals are subject to strict license requirements on production, sales, purchase and transportation in China. In addition to that, China implements a pre-import and pre-export notification system for dual-use precursor chemicals.
      In China, precursor chemicals are mainly controlled by the following administrative regulations and department rules:
      Narcotics Control Law of the People's Republic of China (2007);
      Regulation on the Administration of Precursor Chemicals (2005) - State Council Decree 445;
      Provisions on the Administration of the Import and Export of Precursor Chemicals (2006) ? Order 7 of the Ministry of Commerce ;

      Measures for the Licensing for Production and Operation of Non-pharmaceutical Precursor Chemicals (2006) ? Order 5 of the State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS);
      ======================================
      This is another news story showing, how police in other countries try to work with the Chinese police to help control this, but like you they want to point their finger everywhere else to save face(bury their head in the sand)
      Quote from a news story
      "But in my investigation, I discovered that foreign police forces are also routinely shut out. Law enforcement officials from several countries described their interactions with Chinese counterparts as maddeningly frustrating and sometimes outright insulting. Despite sharing with Chinese authorities their investigative methods, technology and extensive intelligence on drug traffickers, they often receive little in return but pressure to remain silent about China’s intransigence.
      “The Chinese hide behind their bureaucracy,” said a Western law enforcement official, who was not authorized to speak publicly. “All they want to do is save face.”
      www.nytimes.com/times-insider/2015/06/23/synthetic-drug-manufacturing-is-an-open-secret-in-china/

      Joe Blow Honestly, I hate to admit it but what you said is very true. I grew up in California(in the SF Bay Area) and used to love it. But nowadays, it is really becoming a very very expensive place to live with rent and mortgages becoming so high that many cannot afford to pay it so end up on the street. San Francisco is now a hell hole with so many homeless that it is ridiculous with every little thing being very expensive. I used to love SF but now dread going there as it has become a dump. My family only have our own house because my brother bought it in 1996 when houses were not expensive but now houses are so expensive that everyone is leaving due to the ridiculously high cost of living. I truly miss the good old days that seem to be long gone... ok I am getting nostalgic again.
      My home state is Washington state and my uncle and cousins from my mom and dad’s sides still live there. It is a bit boring and rains a lot but life there is a lot easier than California and much cheaper. My cousin lives in Oregon which is a pretty good state too but can get boring as well. My other cousin wants to retire in Oregon one day when he gets old.

    I remember a lot of your & C-Milk's discussion regarding whether Chinese are racists, and I can also see you understand that the position they take regarding "outsiders" is something ingrained and not likely to change because they are largely a homogeneous society despite the fact that there are minorities outside the Han Chinese. My wife is a teacher from Thailand and she went on a short trip to China with her school group. You might think that Thai tourists are treated differently from white/European-looking ones but that is emphatically NOT the case. In fact the Chinese took advantage BIG TIME of the fact that Asians can sometimes be trusting and gullible when someone in a "white lab coat" is scamming them. At the airport they were conned by a group of scammers who herded them into a room for a "free medical exam" and then pushed outrageously expensive "supplements" on them based on the medical exam "results."
    Outside of the tour group, she found herself in a mall where strong-arn guards prohibited her from leaving until she BOUGHT something. The kinds of scams you find in China are endless and I can say although Thailand may have it's share of scammers, they are in no way as prevalent and brazen as they are in China. There is so much good about China to hopefully take some of the edge off the dishonesty.

But the difference is that the Chinese government likes to control their citizens' access to any information that doesn't line up with their narrative.
      The video seemed almost more like a threat, imo. Like "attn: Chinese government, I have a lot of footage, so leave my wife alone" kinda thing. While everyone knows China isn't some magical land that's free of all the negative issues that plague the rest of the world, the Chinese government still wants us to believe it anyway. Since they're very concerned about their image, possibly for propaganda reasons, they would be very unhappy to see that sort of content being made.
      Though as far as government spying/meddling in its citizens' lives, America has the same issue as well, as I'm sure the other superpower countries do too. I guess the American government is a bit more discreet about their information manipulation, while China uses it as a way to flaunt their power. I'm not condemning China for some of their governing style - I may not like or agree with it, but I understand why they're doing it, and I respect their right as a country to do what they want in their own boarders. I'm just pointing out why China in particular is in a unique position to be harmed more by this type of information than other countries might be.
