The vibrancy and pulsating culture and tradition amongst such a diverse society. I’ve also made quite a few local friends in Hong Kong during my tour of duty whenever I get a chance to stop over. The hospitality and charm of Hongkongers amazes me a great deal and has made an impeccable imprint in my life. Unfortunately ever since the umbrella movement and the kill the Bill protest in 2019, many of the friends I know and the people I’ve been acquainted to at one point in time have left the colony. Many changes have taken place in Hong Kong as new laws are being enforced from time to time to clamp down on anti-ccp movements, anti-ccp sentiments or anything at all pertaining to shedding bad light on the ccp. Though my last stop over in Hong Kong was the early part of 2000 where i transit there for two nights from Hainan island before homeward bound and needless to say a wave of nostalgia swept over me when I saw Hong Kong again. That was and will perhaps be my last memory of the awesome Hong Kong I’ve come to experience personally in my lifetime. 🙏

I hope Taiwan is looking at the CCP absolutely being brutal with the young HK people protesting. That is going to happen to Taiwan if they vote pro-Beijing leadership in January.
I believe most politicians are not pro Beijing. As a KMT support a lot of people will point fingers saying we're pro CCP but that's not the case. At our border Mainland has everything they got to take over Taiwan. Either by cooperation or war we have to decide. Taiwan has been going downhill since martial law has been lifted. We need to enforce our military, economy and technology to keep up with mainland China and we're not hitting our targets Becuase the current government is too focused on political correction. If people of Taiwan can't have a happy life, people will support the CCP if things look bad there. My advice is thst everyone should vote with their brains, keep CCP at an arms length and strengthen our economy through them. And build train our own defences in case of war. I don't believe there can be one country two systems, there's no way ccp would allow that. The more people cries about indepence from ROC, PRC would gladly take over by force if necessary. Was there to witness the protest today. It's quite phenomenal. In general the younger generation of Hong Kong are every bit as civil as you say. @boshi liu Hong Kong is one of the great cities of Asia. Along with Singapore it showcases, simultaneously, the greatness of the Common Law and the Chinese people. When bestowed with the blessings of the Common Law, the Chinese people can build cities, economic hubs, and communities unparalleled anywhere on earth. I’m sure there are some decent people who are also CCP party members, but that doesn’t mean the CCP is any less evil. You say you know a lot of HK people who are pro-China. I’m sure you do; I’m pro-China and pro-Chinese as well. However I’m very much anti-CCP, and recent events indicate over one million HK people are too. I’m confused about your statement about Winston... you say he’s against the Chinese government - and I think you’re right. But accusing him of bigotry against Chinese people is completely different. His response seems logical - if he were bigoted against Chinese people, why would he marry a Chinese wife, and live amongst Chinese people all these years? I’m pretty sure his problem is with the CCP, not ordinary Chinese people. Same with me, and I’m sure with many others. Your disdain of bigotry is laudable. But then I find it confusing that you would use the expression “doesn’t speak Chinese” to describe someone who doesn’t know what’s going on. Implication of course being that people who don’t speak Chinese are stupid. Gee, that’s not bigoted at all! So... back to the real subject of the video... whether you think Winston is misguided or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is that the CCP is about to implement this grossly unconscionable law in Hong Kong; civilized people everywhere should stand up, cry foul, and push back. I feel sorry for all the HK people and their families who will have their lives impacted by this unjust law. And I feel sorry for all the 五毛党who are brainwashed and have the truth kept from them.
Hong Kong is the most adaptable city in the world. Just look at the language and how fast it evolves. Smart sophisticated - high underrated people. Wonderful Vlog here
Thank you so much for this video! I'm only 21 years old... I can relate to what you're saying 100%!! I'm actually German but grew up (10-21 years) in HK and lived through all these struggles (umbrella revolution, etc.) ... I'm just glad you're here to give this issue some exposure :) 加油 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
naa, it wont happen, HK is a special territory from China but still their territory, other countries might do similar if one of their cities try to go independent from the country.
Very worrying times! I didn't reaslise how massive the consequences will be once the bill is passed. So sad. I was in Hong Kong just over a year ago. Such an amazing country
as an american i support the extradition laws. the west has to stop being hypocritical about this situation. people attack china for not having free speech yet we dont have free speech in the west either, if we did julian assange and edward snowden would not be locked up. i trust a human like xi jinping who came from poverty more than racist rothchilds vampires. no more DOUBLE STANDARDS. materialism has little value to me i dont care how big hong kong's buildings are, i care more about the integrity of its family values and tradition. from what i hear from china is that chinese have very good family values and tradition. asian culture is simply superior than sjw culture here in the west. let asian culture grow and western culture die out. wish i could leave america to find a good chinese wife and start new. materialism is hell. the usa is eventually going to become desolate so its good for china to take hong kong. with the usa destroyed by revelation 17 and 18 the eu, south america, middle east and africa would have no choice but to do more trade with china and russia through the belt and road initiative. china will prosper and no longer will the world suffer under rothchilds sanctions and wars.
@@jakemoreno9092 That's such a deluded response. I agree that in the West Democracy is breaking down and there really is an increasing trend of shutting down freedom of speech. If this bill is passed, which seems very likely, then it's going to be a disaster. I think you seriously need to follow your ambition to get out of the US and hook up with some Chinese woman and live there together. I doubt it will take long for your eyes to be opened to the reality of this situation
Mainland and Hong Kong remind me of the parable of the Cobra and the Elephant: Elephant, "You promised not to bite me if I saved you from drowning. Now I'll die. Why did you bite me?" Cobra, "Because I'm a cobra."

I have only just seen this piece. As someone who worked and loved Hong Kong in 1992 and 1993, while it was still under UK rule, my heart breaks and bleeds for all the lovely people that are still there. I feel so embarrassed that UK Prime Minister (Margaret Thatcher) failed to work harder to come to a better decision and result for the Hong Kong people who unfortunately were not allowed to take part in the negotiations. If only the UK could have found a way to renew the lease.

Taiwan will be hard to conquer. Taiwanese are aware and developed weapons to stop China long enough so the U.S. could kick in.
@@LucasPereiradaSilva Plus Taiwan has more influence worldwide compared to HK.
I don't wish we would come to that.
@@msndotnet01 It will not be easy for China because the US would certainly get involved, as Taiwan is clearly an ally, and the US-Taiwan relationship got better under Trump's administration. The authority in Beijing probably don't want to look weak or to lose face and so want to subdue Hong Kong. Unfortunately most of them are subjected to the rule of self-interested and self-serving men, who have their personal, rather than people's, interests at heart. As such, great cities like Hong Kong and Singapore are, sadly, the exception and not the norm in the world.
Hong Kong is light years ahead of places like Shanghai because of the British. As is Singapore. This an embarrassment to the CCP. If the British had stayed longer in Shanghai then it would also be better. But no matter how it tries to catch up, it will never be as good. Because of the cultural influence of the British that the CCP can never match. Keep strong Hong Kong. The British won't forsake you. If this law is passed, your movement could cause Western intervention more than any other issue. This has high agenda in western news.

Seems you’re trying to subtly divert the conversation from the subject of the *unconscionable* HK extradition bill (clearly driven by the CCP) to the credibility of Mr Sturzil.
