Great stuff, this board should be available to buy for this purpose ! Did you get comments about hanging a rack of hammers on peg-board by any chance ? I think if I were going to be using 6mm MDF as a backing board, I would probably just drill and screw into it though, rather than drill all those holes the majority of which I'd never use, might be handy to have a grid marked out for alignment though !
A lot of folks do just drill for mounting screws, etc - but after a while the holes left from ones that have been moved look a bit untidy. Some can live with that, others not- many of us makers are on the OCD spectrum... There is something nice in a regular matrix, and it greatly reduces the effort of moving something. Someone with a CNC could turn out 6mm matrix board easily- anyone out there want a business? No, no-one commented about hammers-on-pegboard, but it struck me that there was a perception of poor suitability for heavy tools. Thought I would clarify what this stuff actually is.

I'm an digital artist, dabbling in carpentry as a useful hobby, so Thank you for this, I'm still trying to keep everything in proper order :).
