The likes of Jake Broe with his biased reports
The whole "human wave attack" is a real tactic used by Russia, however the way we think of human wave attacks is sending man after man until the enemy runs out of ammo, the media uses this to twist the reality. The real tactic is sending infantry, usually 'basic' infantry like motorstrelki across the frontline towards the enemy to slowly gain ground day by day, the inexperienced soldiers who do this then dig trenches and make fortifications therefore slowly gaining land. And no they do not send the infantry without cover, (otherwise that would be an actual human wave attack) they would cover their infantry with artillery until they create their fortifications. And if a Ukrainian counterattack did come, not only do they have to go through the new fortifications, they also have to go through the insane amount of artillery Russia has. This is why Russia has so much artillery, so they can rely on less equipped and trained 'basic' infantry to gain ground in similar effectiveness, in Ukraine this method is clearly more effective. Artillery is the king of battle after all.
The infantry in the clip would probably not be the 'basic' infantry but rather shock or experienced and hardened 'basic' infantry.
Because it down plays Russians military strategy, must make them feel better.

Coordination is key here. If you don't pay attention look how they go down when the people behind them fire. Typically trenches are deeper so the people in the front shoot low and behind shot high. Each soldiers is teamed up and has their own areas of attack in this trench to make sure the defenders are overwhelmed and have no means to counter proper at this moment. I once saw a video of the Russians training for these types of assaults. In the comments i saw alot of laughs yet funny enough everything i saw in that training is applied here.

Расскажу как я общался с одним из друзей который сегодня на СВО, он ушел с работы и с самого начала находится на СВО, получил уже три или четыре ранения, и все время твердит это лучшая работа в мире. Что бы вы понимали люди привыкают к боевым действия и некой атмосфере, свободе в ковычках, и даже страх смерти не остановит их.

It's insane to me how much this conflict resembles WW1, in so many ways. Barbed wire, trench warfare, grenades, dugouts, trench raids, the list goes on...
I'm guessing the reason war evolved from WW1 trench fighting was because of the emergence of tanks and other artillery vehicles. There were tanks in WW1, but they were generally inefficient compared to the ones during WW2 and broke down a lot. Armoured vehicles really mobalised the battlefield.
However, drone warfare, anti-aircraft weapons, and anti-tank projectiles have seemed to have changed all that it seems. It seems to have reverted warfare to what was best strategised before, to dig in and defend in trenches whilst the enemy bombards.
For mobility to increase, a lot of emulation will need to be spent. It's a war of attrition now.

@@skycloud4802 The cause of trench warfare in World War I was slow tanks, their speed was approximately 5-8 km. Because of this, 90% of tank losses were due to artillery shells. If the tanks were faster, like in World War II, they would have reached the enemy trench and destroyed the artillery and soldiers.
It was called trench warfare,but they aren't using chemical weapons like the Germans did in WW2.

He helped his friends until the bullets ran out. He killed about 30 Ukrainian fascists!! Then he was admitted to the hospital. But he escaped and returned to the front. There were still 3 small fragments left in His body. These are the Russian guys. They know what they are fighting for. And it is impossible to defeat them...

Standard. When people behind will fire you must go down cause a trench limits mobility it's not like a field or a forest where you can get space to move away from your comrades. Lucky the trench wasn't too deep so the others could move around a bit deeper ones required coordination for both sides in offense and defence. That's my observation.
