Thank you for posting the heads up. I am in the auto glass industry and run my own practice and though I don't tint, I use a slip solution on the bottom of the window for my tool to glide through the glue bead. I will make notes to use wire on these so it doesn't require any moisture!
I just did a 2019 Dodge Ram Limited windshield yesterday. I always use a soak shield and cover the dash with a towel. I didn’t have any issues but I will sure cover that module in the future. Thanks for the heads up!
I actually went in and put dielectric grease in the connector in both my ram trucks and also inside the backside of the connector so it helps with it corroding and probably helps with the water issue you are talking about. Idk why they mounted the BCM upside down.. it just needs flipped around and it's not a worry..
Looks like you did an awesome job of the tint. I don't believe we're allowed to tint the front windows up here in Canada. I wish we could, because that truck looks incredible
Lol 3 weeks ago I've tinting the windshield of a small hatchback and yess I was so unlucky that the water slip through the dash and somehow I think it hit the ecu or maybe the fuse box. On the first day of driving the car is just normal but on the second day I be damn because throttle not responding and some indicator on gauge going crazy also with the brake light keep turning on and guess what? Somehow I still got lucky that it didn't fried anything in the car which I'm worried about, so what im doing the next day is just simply put the car under the extreme hot sun all day long, thanks to the sun for helping me save a lot of $$$ for not sending it to workshop just for the sake of careless mistake (I was going to send it to the workshop actually but my instinct say this must be the tint job that causing the problem so I take the risk myself and yess it save me a lot and now that the car is perfectly normal). Atleast now I have learned from that mistake anyway. Too bad that I watch this after the incident.
Been watchin the videos for a while and really enjoy the content. I’ve been tinting for a couple months now and have really improved because of your videos. I was wonderin if you could do a video on the new hatchback civics with the curved back window? I’ve had a couple come in and they are a pain to shrink.
I'll keep in mind but I'm lucky enough to hardly see them right now. had the spoiler pulled for one and spliced the other. it's just not a fun car with that spoiler in the way.
A place here in vegas did my windshield tint on my new 2019 ram 1500 classic 3 times and could not stop leaving surface scratches on tint. Finally I told them to just take it off and next day I noticed my windshield had surface scratches on it. Company tried to blame the tint manufacturer first and then blaming Dodge makes cheap windshields and that's why it has surface scratches..
It's really good to get the ram truck windshield tinted even if it's not dark. Just as long as it helps with uv cause the dodge trucks are notorious for the dashes cracking on them because the sun beats the crap out of it 😀
@@DetroitTintStudio yeah I hear you. The FULL windshield videos have the most views on my Channel. For some reason people love seeing them done. I think even the ones that don't have one want them a little bit ha ha
It’s so funny that you mention that I did a dodge challenger last year and the car when Berzerk didn’t know what to do I disconnected the battery and let the car sit for a few hours
In Texas it is legal too tint your front wind sheild it has too be 70% VLT and the cops will consider it clear tint any thing higher you have too pay fines and tickets for it that is what I read up on my state laws
I love how you rolled the file. Didn't know you could do that after removing liner. I'll have to try that out. Any recommendations on a Jetta sport 2016?
What did you do about the dot matrix on the windshield? I keep trying to do mine and it wont stick to them. Any advice? I learned from all the other videos you have done and rhe advice.
I have a 21 Mazda 6 they have tinted the windshield twice and it’s still jacked up. Scratches. Plus I get a key fob malfunction and can’t unlock or lock my doors and grainy infotainment. It dries out and works fine. How can this be stopped since they have to tint it again? Have you had and trouble on Mazda windshields and electrical issues after?
Just got my windows tinted, they wouldn't do windshield because of this, they learned the hard way on a ram where it fried the computer, so I settled for the strip that comes farther down
I'll make sure I make people sign waiver and non liability forms and Indicate to go through their warranty if they have electronic issues and ill make sure I charge 1200 bucks to tint windshields. Don't even touch teslas. 1 tesla needs a 40 inch roll to do the back windshields. Window film applications are some of the most complicated apps to do. Charge an arm and a leg everyone. Cheers
I really hope you check your states law first. In my state u cant tint the windshield except with clear or a 4 inch band. 25% on sedan doors or front 2 of a SUV the rest can be up to 5% here. If that's not to law and they get in a wreck n say the tint restricted visibility u might have a case against you. Great quality job but hope your laws are different
Yeah, thats what im wondering about my Longhorn... Im getting ready to tint my pickup and my windshield has a weird looking sensor right below the mirror theres like 5 or 6 little yellow/orange lines you can see from the front of the truck!?!? Do you know what that sensor is for and if its okay to tint it?...Im assuming its my surround/overhead camera sensor idk because my truck has the camera that looks down over the truck when in reverse ....idk if im going to be able to tint my windshield because of that sensor, for one i dont know about covering it up and also i think it will look super weird if the rest of the windshield is tinted dark and that little spot has those yellow/orange lines right in middle of the windsheild lol
@@DirtNassty thats the rain sensor and fcw (front collision warning). They usually tint around the mirror and housing so you should be good. Mine still functions great. Planning to tint tint windshield but don’t want to loose visibility. Which type of windshield would you Recommend? There’s like like airblue , ceramic, crystalline, ? I want something that is dark from the outside but without losing visibility

Don't be scared to "modify" techniques to suit you as you gain experience & if you don't have a great memory to remember the easiest way to do each car, keep a journal with notes, particularly of issues like in this video! Good luck, you'll get it happening with practice, patience and thought on how to stop making the same mistakes.

I love how careful you are on tinting there truck and then the tech that installed that security or remote start used the t taps.
Same for chevy silverado. Soakshield is A must. I actually use 2 soakshields and remove the side pillars on trucks like this.
I've learned a lot from this guy!! He is the real deal. I soon hope to have my window tint side hustle up and running!

Does that apply to all the windows as well? Or just the windshield on being careful

Unfortunately not street legal tinting the front windshield in germany.
Is this allowed in the US ?
How much did damage to BCM cost you?
Did they tell you diagnosis of the problem?
i recently had a guy mess mine up while tinting and it was in the dealer for over a month and $1,300 later it was the cluster that went bad
Thanks for the info and we have to ad to the list the grand Cherokee's and challenger's
Nice job...but, it's legal?
Could u shoot a video about how to shrink the tint for 2019 ram? Thank you!
Are you pulling the liner before you spray and use roll method?

Can you get pulled over for 35 % windshield tint

How dark are you allowed to put on the front windshield.
Not allowed anything lol its illegal regardless but 20 or 35 is primo
I'd go with 3m crystalline 90. Or 80

How long after the instal do I remove the towels?
