I like how he explains thoroughly every step he’s doing and what should be done or shouldn’t be done. Such as not applying too much water, or why outside should be sprayed with water. It might be obvious for some, but it’s an instructional video therefore one should explain their steps. Unlike other similar videos, where they don’t bother to explain as much. Thanks for this great explanation. The best window/windshield tint video there is on RUclips 👍🏼
I agree but you have to also agree he was a little extra on the explanations.. but thats just constructive criticism i also thought it was a great video and insightful.
I’m woman got on window tinting business about 3 years ago on and off but now working my way to become professional window tinter. I work with a lot of men they’re focusing more quantity not quality in other we don’t really care for the cars most of the time I feel bad the way we do peoples cars..anyway i just wanted to say thank you I learned very helpful technique just watching your video and applying to my work. So Keep them coming those helpful tips. 🙏🏾
Quick tip. Split the film 10/10 from a 20in roll so your not dealing with all that extra at the top. And once you finish getting the film and level on outside. Mark the bottom edge of windshield with a sharpie in a few places. So you can line up film Perfect when installing.
I have yet to find a tint shop that can install a sunstrip that follows the curve of my windshield. a slanted piece of tint above my line of sight would drive me insane.
It's actually easy. Use the top edge of your windshield and follow it all the way across with a razor knife. Then once it's cut all the way across, you move the tint down to how far down the glass you want the strip. Then you cut along the ceramic border. Once that is done, you install it and it will be straight and follow the curve of the window. Hope that helps
I don't like how the sides curve down a bit. Is that because your window tint paper is straight and not curved? Resulting in it dipping down due to the window curvature?
Great video . I'm going to my windshield on my 2018 Silverado. My question is I want to make my tint strip about 1 or 2 inches lower then the mirror . So I would guess I need to make the tint one solid piece so you don't see the split... Do I approach this the same way ? I 'm thinking to lay out a tape strip across the bottom to get a strait line (concave line )? And thanks again for detailing my Black 2018 Silverado last year GREAT JOB.
Hey listen man thank you for all the advice I'm going to give it a try hopefully iget it right the first time but Im hoping to get it the first time but since there's nothing better to do it I'm going to give it a try thanks
What does the windshield strip supposed to do for the driver in the sunlight? I’m confused by it and I’m actually considering it instead of getting the whole windshield tinted
Nicely done I just got a 2018 Silverado Ltz plan on doing the same strip in front What do you use for scrubbing the windshield Keep up the great work 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It automatically sticks to the dot matrix. When you‘re done be sure to press it down with a hard object with a towel wrapped around it so the water gets absorbed. Otherwise you might get air between the foil.
Hey, i have a question as i want to do this myself, is it good if i cut the bottom of the sun strip tint to follow the curve of my windshield so it can look as a perfect rectangle, i think will look more appealing than curved to the sides, or is it just better to make it as you did, thx in advance
It's going to be VERY difficult to cut the bottom evenly curved by hand. It's best to use the factory straight edge out of the box for the bottom of the strip.
@@cooram you can use the curve from where the roof ends and windshield starts, its like a dig you just insert knife there end cut, then you go down with the tint and cut again for the upper part
When I do a 2-piece strip I let the one piece sit and then go put the other side on and then go back to the first piece and start the squeegee process by then it won't slide on you plus you want to make sure everything lines up before you squeegee
I wouldn’t use Windex, it has ammonia in it and will change the color of the tint. As how far down the windshield you can go, look at the sides of your windshield and there are marks on both sides, that’s where you’re legally allowed to go down to.
I paid $40 for my strip. For the rest of the windows it was $250 but my shop quoted me wrong and honored it so I got mine done for $200. Windows are dependent on the car though as size and number of windows changes dramatically.
Hi, thanks for all the free info.. I have 2 general questions.. The first one is what's the purpose of the blue towel when using the heat gun and the grey lidco to seal the edges? Can't we just use the grey lidco without wrapping it with a towel for this job? And the second one is how to choose between the yellow contour and the gold ez reach for going over the sides? Thanks in advance!
How do you tint your roll up windows???? EASy TAaKE THE WINDOWS OUT!!! Easiest thing in the world to do. Not that cutting them out with soapy water holding them up to the window in the door! Of course not one video on RUclips giving up secrets like that
Rectangle not triangle 🤣🤐
Rectangle ?? Where are you buying 3M pinstripe tape
Window Tint Warriors do you usually heat up the front window tint
@@fas615 does the strip need to be heated after??
3:17 2/16????? What school did you go to? You do great tint jobs dont get me wrong but come on now 😆.

I can put you onto a good tinter if you want? He is online aswell.
Easily the best ‘How to’ on this subject, on RUclips.👍🏼👍🏼
Dude is a pro. Excellent work, thanks for sharing.
I like how you didn't remove the rear view mirror, while most people do this. As a Certified tinter since Sunday, 2 days ago, that's working smart imo
I've been detailing professionally for years and use stainless steel razor blades on glass daily and have never had a problem with damaging the glass.
you don't work on Jaguar's, Range Rover , LandRover, Suzuki's, and now new Toyota's are scratch magnets too
Love this video, if I was in your area, I wouldn't hesitate to go to you guys. Smart, to the point, and precise!
Dopeeeee!!! That came out so nice and I learned so much.
Hi you are my favourit windows tinter. Have a nice week-end ( Strasbourg France)
That was excellent! I'm going out to do my windshield now!

I appreciate the video my man. Definitely made it seem less daunting.
Was so cool to watch him explaining how this is done.
Yep.. No need for any other how to tint.. This was perfect
Hi l learning with your videos are the best l have 2 year tintig on the side thank you 👍 one cuestión which store buy the vinyl white tape?
4:26 NOICE
Use a bright led light from inside the vehicle, makes it easier to see where to cut.
Well explained, clear n precise !!!
Do I need to heat the strip after the strip is installed?
Thank you for taking the time to put these videos together for us to learn from.
I don't like how the sides curve down a bit. Is that because your window tint paper is straight and not curved? Resulting in it dipping down due to the window curvature?
heres a better guide so the side would not curve ruclips.net/video/fZrB3L1mO28/видео.html&ab_channel=dial2fast
What solution do you use when you apply it and what is the water-solution ratio
Bright light inside can help you to see where to cut easier
My windshield already has a 70 or 80% on it. Can I still have a windshield sun strip added?
Make Your Mark with a Sharpie on both sides that you don't have to walk back and forth with a tape measure before you get the glass wet
Can the tint go over the dot matrix onto the matte black edges of the windshield, or will it not adhere to this part of the glass?
Hey what brand/kinda soap do you use to mix in you’re pump sprayer?
He uses the Johnsons baby shampoo

how did it go?
12"x100' roll makes everything easier... have you tried doing a curl?
I wish I had been able to do this years ago. I once had a Honda Civic that had no visor, and it was very annoying.😁
On a rear window I have tint 36in from top to bottom.. my window is 37 in do I leave the bottom half showing or the top
What do you do to get around the mirror i didnt see how in the vid
How much does the two peice window tint cost
That’s clean! Good work and good video!
Really enjoy these videos
What does the windshield strip supposed to do for the driver in the sunlight? I’m confused by it and I’m actually considering it instead of getting the whole windshield tinted
If the driver lifts its head up a bit, their vision gets better just as a sun shade would. Maybe personal preference
My car always out so what tint I get easy install
whats the name of white tape?
Why no heating gun process ?
Excellent instructional video.
Was I the only one that said I'm 2/16s is a 8th lol good video thank you
Personally I liked the 2/16 part. It's different and I suppose it isn't technically wrong
Nicely done!
Very useful and detailed 👌
Why not cut it with the top edge of the glass first so it’s uniform height?
But if its outside and scraping snow wouldnt that damage the tint.
Why would install tint outside of the window?
I don’t have a heat gun. Can I do this without using heat gun.?
Nicely done
I just got a 2018 Silverado Ltz plan on doing the same strip in front
What do you use for scrubbing the windshield
Keep up the great work 🔥🔥🔥🔥
What do you recommend for getting the tint to stick to the dots around the top of my wind shield
I think you need to scrape it off
It automatically sticks to the dot matrix. When you‘re done be sure to press it down with a hard object with a towel wrapped around it so the water gets absorbed. Otherwise you might get air between the foil.
anyone know where I can get this tape?
Windowtintsupplies.com
So are you cutting in the tape ?

Where do you buy the 3M vinyl tape does it cut through it easy the blade?
mytintstuff.com has glass aid tape that works pretty good too not as good as the 3m tho!
@@moizqaderi8030 ok what does 3m do stick better ????
do u have to use a heat gun?
can u use windex?
how far down can u go on the front window?

Windex now has an ammonia free based spray just buy that and make sure it’s not the regular one
Hi, great video,
How can put or add 70% on whole windshield...
On this same job you working on 5% Sun Strip...
Thanks good video just got mines done! 💪🏼
What kind of tape is it?
Eleven and two sixteenths is 11 & 1/8”!
🎉 🎊
10 and eighteen sixteenths!!!!!
shuff1111 😂😂👌🏽
Whatever works!
I wasn't the only one haha love it
Dudes great! Looks fire.. only thing that made me laugh a little was the 11 2/16… 🤔 11 “1/8”🙂
It worked to make you engage 😉. Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed !!!!
Good job man
Very good .thanks
Turn a work light on inside the car to see the line better!
Do the Chevy Colorados take the pry tool and bone tool to pop the clips??
yes
@@WindowTintWarriors thanks they were hard to pull by hand..hahah
JBIRD575 I’ll post the video for that in a couple days
@@WindowTintWarriors ok
Can we still roll down the window or do we got to wait a couple days to let it cure ?
4 days before rolling windshield down on this car
What a stupid question IT'S A WINDSHIELD you can roll your windows down
He did a great job. How much for something like this??
I paid $40 for my strip. For the rest of the windows it was $250 but my shop quoted me wrong and honored it so I got mine done for $200. Windows are dependent on the car though as size and number of windows changes dramatically.
Thanks bud! This saved me 60 dollars.
60?!? i pay 20 for top professional drop tints
11 and 2/16s that’s a new one
Nice video! Awesome tips!
Thank you!
Very Nice for window tins i want to study
Great video
Mark your sides where you want it with a sharpie and you don't have to go back and forth with tape measure
Did I miss him shrinking it? I know he said pushing fingers to the top vs the bottom so line stays straight, but don’t remember him shrinking.
Can you see at night though?
maybe shine a light inside out to see tape
Nice job.
Good job

it stops scratches and absorbs moisture
I'm getting ceramic 20% tint. I'm thinking about getting 5% sun strip. 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Appreciate it
Explain everything step by step and the videos are short enough to keep my attention. Not 4 hour long videos
Nice!
5%?
nice vid but you cut on the window.. you dont need that 3M tape if you know what your doing
Why not use the top of the windshield to cut a curve into the strip and keep its height the same across? Did the customer want a frown strip?
You think a channel dedicated to window tint installation would know that technique? 😂
This isn’t the “legal “ line. This is easier than working with the normal 6inch line
Wow
2/16th 🤔
IS THERE A TINT ON THE WINDSHIELD???
Why you cut on the tape and not on the glass?
👍😉
Triangle?
2/16
Got me over here attempting to try this but already having issues just applying this stupid tape . Lookin h*lla stupid rn lmao🤣🤣🤣
