I think this one was a really great example for cutting a hatchback with a spoiler on the top, Matt! Thanks for sharing the techniques with us! Always thankful for having found your RUclips channel earlier this year when I learned to tint from your livestreams, primarily, and tinted my Chevy Silverado 1500 regular cab WT. I owe you big time, Matt!
here revisiting this video a year later as it came up in suggested videos, and glad i had it suggested again to refresh my memory. You really do make some great instructional videos! Hope your classes are still getting a lot of attention! People will be the better for going through your class! I know I went from not being able to tint, even though I had tried and tried and failed, to being able after watching your live streams for a couple of months. Sadly someone ran into my Truck July 26, 2023 and totaled my 2010 Chevy Silverado after I had tinted my windows and redone my headlights with an epoxy clear coat and was getting it to looking good. Thanks for doing these videos!
Matt, As always you make tinting look so easy, another great video on the best method to tint, keep the video's coming as I always pick up new ways to get the job done right, with little waste of tint and time!
Dude. I watch all of your videos that are very similar to my car! I'm very grateful that I found this video very helpful. It's so wonderful. The brand car is Proton X50 from Malaysia. I kinda wanna save some money lol. I wish I had learned this sooner.
Hey man. I have a better option that works great, at least for me. (For almost all vehicles with spoiler) I use one of the defroster lines to cut across then slide up and line up with dot matrix. The defroster lines are usually in the same shape of the top frame. Then just cut your sides etc...I hope it helps
Just wanted to let you know that your comment was fantastic. I was having a hard time doing a vehicle with a spoiler and cutting the top was one of the issues, but following the defrost line was a killer pro-tip! Thanks!
he cuts in the middle of the tape, he explains somewhere in another video that this means you cut the tint and tape only and the blade shouldn't touch the glass directly. even though stainless steel blades are unlikely to scratch the glass its just an extra precaution he takes.
Your an absolute legend, I've got a range rover Evoque coming in soon and I was thinking I'm going to have to take the spoiler off...until now! Thanks Matt
i do have a plotter and just started learning to tint and love your vids my question is how do you get the image and size for the plotter to cut your tint

When its sometime hard to get size from outside because of tail light any chances that can be done taking size from inside and shrinking outside then place it?
can't find anywhere glass aid tape, i am in UK and all i found is in US and shipping is a fortune, if i am carefull with a stainless steel blade can i get away with it with no scratches? i want to do my car on my own is a ford mondeo(fusion) 2016 hatchback should be easy the install
Any stainless steel blade will work on a window everytime you are going to cut snip off the older blade for a newer one, Like cutting anything dull is dangerous vs sharp Less work less friction etc
@@DetroitTintStudio That's how you become quick and productive when you take the same approach to every vehicle. Muscle memory and the same order means protection. In the end its still a door glass, quarter glass or rear glass no matter the make....now some makes are easier/harder but they require the same procedures just a little extra or a little less here and there.
I swear you are the best RUclips tint teacher. I won’t watch anyone else.

I just used this technique on a 2022 Forester and it worked perfectly! Thank you!

@sharlson2017 happy to help!
Where can I find that light you’re using? Great videos!! I recently started tinting again and you’re videos have been great to learn new techniques.
When using the tape are you cutting in the inside or on the tape

Great tip on using the cord of the heat gun to hold up the wiper blade while you shrink. ❤👍🏼👍🏼
This is the sort of trick for someone who has mastered their craft.

I like that little cord trick for the wiper
You are doing a great job.
You make it look really easy. Is it really that easy? Can I DIY my model 3 Tesla?
Hi what product do you used at the beginning on the window ? It’s a softener wipe ?
Thanks you 😊
Thank you that’s really a great technique.
Thanks for everything, can u tell me what is the best tint for shrink? If you have a link I would be happy if you share to me.

Hi. What material is the squeegee you use to spread the film after heating with the hot air gun made of? Thank you.
When its sometime hard to get size from outside because of tail light any chances that can be done taking size from inside and shrinking outside then place it?
What is the thing you put on the glass like gel?
Thank you for such useful video
Question, why didn't you place the tint and cut on the inside so you didn't have to deal with the wiper
Thanks for the video. it's really helpful.
what you used window film this work?
Ever consider doing a video over your storage/organization? Mainly interested in your shelves for tint storage!
Why the dryer sheet Im curious? Also would a flood light with the stand work better to see in those dark areas like under the spoilers work?
It lets the tint float over the window , Front and rear windows you only use dryer sheet side windows and ports just baby shampoo and distilled water
Thank you🙏🏽
Gostei da ideia de segurar o limpador com o fio do soprador.
incredible.

Will removing tint damage defrost lines?
No
No
I love this job
So nice
Do you have to use a heat gun?
Where can I buy glass aid?
Sir please tell me
White tape used in video to cover back glass
Give me it's name
Glass aid

Sir it is 6 mm
Buena práctica 👋
Easy for you 😮😮😮😮😮😮
What brand of Tint do you use?
Where do you order your tint from?
I use geoshield 313Tint.com
I’m so confused do people call wiper blades spoilers in different areas?
So what happens if you get a finger on the non factory edge side?
You can warm the finger up with the heat gun just don’t get it hot hot like ur trying to shrink it
Stainless steel blades only??? For scraping....
Ich möchte gerne Glass Band bestellen aber es geht nicht ich kann nicht von Deutschland bestellen wo kann ich das bestellen
🤔🤔🤔
I'm glad my back window was busted out with a brick during a protest.
I don't have to worry about tinting cardboard and duct tape.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Damn a car with a spoiler and a spoiler (wiper)
блин,да проще шаблон из лайнера сделать,чем потом подрезать на месте
Try to tint an Audi
I’ve done a lot of them. Same process with the hatch just less room along the inside boarder

Is that pretty much it Tint Studio? Is that how you do with each ride...tint this door glass the same steps as any door glass?
Talk too much 😊😊
It helps to understand those back windows 🫡👍🏼
