    Here at Sun Distributing, we believe that the supplier of the window film should know every aspect of the business. It makes it hard when a tinter or tint shop needs support but their supplier does not know the business from one end to the other. I started as a tinter helper in 1989 and worked my way up to the point of distribution. Along the way I have put together a successful retail tint shop and know every hurdle that a tinter and/or shop owner could face. I believe that there is an extreme value to having a company with our experience in the industry having your back.

    letting the air between the film and the windshield as you are shrinking was one of the things that I didn't snap to until about the third attempt; then I realized that it went great when I lifted the film to let air in between as I was shrinking. call it instinct or whatever, but something just hit me that third time, and it all just came together after that.
    This was such a great verbal and visual demonstration! Sometimes you can see something over and over, and it just doesn't always sink in just how important each little step is.

    This works for me, Ive been very inconsistent throughout try to figure out why it's coming out wrong the last 3 times, you definitely make it look easy and so does most professionals here on RUclips, what my mistake was over thinking the shrink/heat temp ratio, so I was toasting the film more then I needed too, so this method has worked best for me to understand where it needs to be, thanks for this Video it has taught me more then I have learned over the years doing it my self, it's always the back glass that is the hardest, I have zero issues with side windows, I just tried this method to finally get 3/4 of the back glass almost perfect, then I got rained on, go figure

    i took a class been practicing for a year and still not able to shrink it nice and smooth for some reason i always get fingers running from the sides into the film
    or the film bunch up so much once i get to the bottom that i end up creasing it. i havent been able to figure out why i used to be doing fine with lexen film than switch to hitek for better quality and is giving me so many issues seems like it was my first day tinting

    I think one of the biggest things that stuck out to me is the fingers when they turn sideways when you are shrinking is a good indication you have shrunk it to the point that it needs to be to lay down. My problem was, when I was attempting to do my windshield for the first time and didn't let the air in between the film and the windshield that I wasn't able to see that, and I would over shrink the film, and it would drape sideways real hard.

    I noticed one or two fingers popped up on the left towards the end of the video, however they were not addressed. Does it mean I should not pay attention to the side fingers? I’m just learning how to tint now.

      Trucks don’t need hardly any shrinking. I set them up like a door window and just wet shrink the bottom or just do some touch up after it’s installed if it’s a new truck

    My boyfriend just did my 2000 Buick regal & the sides aren't bad but the back window is going to have to be redone. Do you wet the window or the tint before shrinking on the outside of the car? & What do you use to get in where there brake light is? He struggled even cleaning the window down there so the tint is peeling up at the bottom & it's not even all the way to the bottom of the window cause it's hard to get in there.

    • @misslilpersian4758
      @misslilpersian4758 Год назад

      He didn't heat shrink the side windows & he tried to heat shrink the back windows tint but it didn't do anything because wet it first so he gave up with heating it so my back window is completely messed up. I used walmart tint also & it's not even wide enough to cover the back window so 2 strips have to be used. Any tips you can give would be appreciated.

    • @NotPokelo
      @NotPokelo Год назад

      @@misslilpersian4758 For the back window most people use a wet dryer sheet and rub it on the back window then let it dry before shrinking film. Use clay bar to clean windows before install on any windows as it’ll help lay film down easier w out obstructions. Your best bet is to buy some cheap Amazon film like a 36 x 10 feet film as it’ll cover the whole back window in 1 go and have enough for multiple attempts/multiple cars. Also cutting out the area where the 3rd brake light is will help not having to reach farther down into the window causing the job to be harder than it already is.

      I try to teach that! I feel like it’s helpful to watch the film and you can see when to smooth it out. But what I notice in person is even after explaining, it take a while to understand what you are looking for. I think this is the most fool proof method on most windows.
