They updated the game continuously for over three years straight with a small team and virtually no microtransaction support, you can't appreciate that?

Battlefront fans haven't been promised a true Battlefront remastered( which is what these new battlefronts are aiming for) since like 2005 and it's sad

Its so crazy to think about it: This game started out as an absolute Pay-to-Win Desaster but the Devs at DICE were able to pull that game back up to the top with good content added and a nice upgrading system, but then EA jumps in and says "nope, this game is killed". This game was at its peak player numbers and was going very well, I just cant get wrap my head around the fact that they just killed it off...

No cap, the coolest thing in this trailer is how the beat of the music matches perfectly with blaster shots and explosions for a little bit at 0:50

@Flare I don’t think it’s fair to say that. It’s not that EA never makes good games, rather, they almost always do a great job turning their community against them by asking for micro transactions to make yourself “better” in game.
EA has been behind plenty of good games, it’s just they’re known for being a bit greedy. I’m not saying I like EA, but saying they make no good games isn’t an accurate statement.
@Flare right, but you’re talking about the release. Lots of games these days are released in a very buggy state. Look at Cyberpunk, the new Pokémon game, etc. just because a game is broken on launch doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement. Battlefront II 2017 is now a pretty well polished game, it may have taken some time to get there, but judging a game off of it’s release date isn’t fair either mate.

Honestly, I still remember how stoked I was about this trailer when it first came out, but then all the hate for the game was also unleashed when the game released. I ended up getting this for around a fraction of it's price through some sale at the playstation store. Back the. It may have been bad, but now it's actually pretty darn good

I rewatched this trailer so many times and most of them times were in hearing proximity of my mum to really emphasise how much I wanted this game for my birthday, sure it had a rocky launch but I loved it all the way through
I have never had more hype for a game being released than this one, I remember racing home from school to play it, I didn’t even care about the micro transactions, I was just so happy to play in the clone wars era😁

Now the heroes are free to play without the credit pay wall, the leveling system is so much better in that it gives you star cards and ranks as you level up that particular class (it gives you one ‘skill point’ every time you rank up a class/hero/vehicle which can buy a star card rank whether it be rank 1 or an upgrade), grinding is still gonna reward players for doing so however it is something anybody can do without the pointless credits -> crates -> maxed out cards bull crap. It levels out the playing field more so for people who may not be able to do every single daily challenge then gamble it all away hoping for a pay out. It allows a natural progression for everything.
They also ironed out some bugs, improved lightsaber combat so it’s more true to the lore, and such

I grew up playing the original battlefronts and all the other star wars games and all of them will always have a very special place in my heart, but the first DICE Battlefront was my first online game. Back then I had a lot of complaints about the game (and probably rightfully so), but I can't help but remember all the great times it gave me.

Yup. I think it wouldn’t have been as bad if BF2042 had been better at launch. I think then at least all of the devs they had working on the game that they took from Battlefront 2 could’ve been justified. 2042 is supposed to be doing better in 2023 though.

This was the first game I’ve played from beta until final update. I do feel like a new multiplayer shooter is needed. It’s been 3 years since the last Battlefront 2 update, and it’ll be 6 years this year since the launch of the game. If there’s no multiplayer shooter being developed currently, I can see it being a good 7+ years since the last one. Luckily, Respawn are really good at multiplayer shooters, and I think employing them to make a FPS game and not making it multiplayer wouldn’t be the highest IQ choice ever. I guess all we can do is wait and see.
I can't be the only one who wants that full soundtrack released.

ZILLA Productions 303 grievous is buggy as hell. Thrust surge can't hit a single enemy, unrelenting advance is weak as hell. He is one of the weakest heroesright now

I like the crawl rush which is the only one I find actually "useful" in a battle. All the other ones are so under powered. And yeah he is kind of buggy in game.

I will never trust EA to put stuff into a game that they do not show in the trailer until I have seen the gameplay after the game has released, since Star Wars fans got pretty ripped off with the first EA Battlefront game where they should have just updated the graphics for the original Battlefront II and released that, but instead they limited the game to the later era of Star Wars and had the gall to release overpriced items on their game with values reaching as high as 200$ from what I remember, I could be wrong on that though, I haven't seen the numbers recently on the pre-orders, season pass, map packs, and skins and what-not.
