Lucasfilm needs to stop doing trailers that have things that they haven't set in stone yet. I was hyped for a campaign focusing on Inferno Squad as Imperials, not people who defected a couple of months max after the 2nd Death Star tragedy. Part of the reason I enjoyed the original Battlefront II so much was getting the point of view as an Imperial for a good bit of the game.

This was a trailer for a different, better game with an Imperial Campaign, but all we got was the Bullshit story we have now where we can't have one damn character stick with the Empire.

The campaign is a huge letdown if you wanted a true story from the other side, akin to Thrawn, the Inferno squad book and the original swbf2 campaign. *Spoilers* The first few missions are great, but it falls apart very quickly. Instead of showing a vengeful imperial fighting to keep the empire alive like this trailer shows us, she switches sides. She goes from a die hard Imperial to a full on rebel freedom fighter in one cutscene. The problem is that her character has been developed as a believer in the ideals of the empire, even during the cinder mission she says that the empire is supposed to be protecting the civilians. It made sense she would try to stop operation cinder, but it makes no sense that she joins the rebels. It would've been better that she joins another Imperial faction she believes to be better, not to go full fucking rebel.

Lucas Derp tbh it wouldnt have been better if we played a few more Imperial Missions and rebel ones even in place of the throw away hero missions (Luke and Kylo added to the story and canon, I guess they were acceptable) so we could have Iden develop and maybe turn towards the end. Rather then have her turn with no reason other then "omg there gonna blow up my planet and kill people even tho I didnt care when I was stationed on the Deathstar and we were scorching planets with no regard for life before!"

The obvious problem is that they have been edited and reassembled (from completely different sections of the Campaign mind you) in such a form that all of these specific cutscenes create a grand fallacious trailer about the Campaign. EA's Goal: Profit.

Empire Perpective my ass! What I was hoping to by looking at the trailer was real empire campaign. Fighting to protect Vardos which came under attack. Make a final stand on Jakku! SCREAMING HOPE WILL NOT SAVE THEM! Then retreat to unkown regions and see Iden become a Special Force for First order but nooooooooooo She need it to defect to the Rebels after third mission... I didn't like the campaign but the game modes and the maps are quite sexy but the crates hurt my feelings the most they cost too much it cost me 200 cyber crystals for a trooper crate and I got crap stuff out of it I hope they lower the price down for the crates so in short I agree with you

I wanted this to be somewhat similar to the original BF2 in it following the Empire and not being like "ooh you get to be the good guys for the 87 millionth time."
I will never forget the chills I had watching these first two trailers for SWBF2. It was like a dream come true. Since I had been over seas during the first release of the first battlefront
He's talking about the strategic campaign mode from the original Battlefront II. The player advanced through a galactic map and fought a battle on each planet to conquer it on the board. If the enemy fleet was in the sector, you'd even have to fight a space battle first. That mode was called "Galactic Conquest", and it was amazing.

Coming back and watching this trailer, the ending where it’s showing eras of the prequels, originals, and current, just sends shivers down my spine for some reason..... And I like it
As soon as the starfighter "save the satellites" mission happened, I knew exactly where the story would go. No one would specifically withhold information so obviously unless it was used as a plot device. That's the second goddamn mission, and one mission later she turned. It was such a disappointment. Heck, even an episode in the Clone Wars did it better, when they showed that the separatist ambassadors in their "senate" had actual reasons for believing in their side and the subject of "no good, no evil", was touched upon (if only they weren't being manipulated by count dooku). They could have tried the same thing here, and it fell flat on its face instead and became one massive cliche

That moment when 1/3rd of the campaign actually involves the Empire. It's a real shame that they entirely redid the game to fit a more "safe" kind of story rather than trying something bold and new, like this trailer shows. How often do we actually get to see a soldier's POV on the the Empire's side?
It'd be really interesting to see how Commander Iden perceives her side as the "right" side. Avoid the whole "bad for the sake of being bad" kind of storytelling. Here's hoping.
If she is anythign like the Stormtrooper chick in the Battlefront novel she probably percieves the Empire as a force for peace and order. If her homeworld turns out ot have been a mess before the empire came it would also further cement her conviction. She also seems to be fanaticaly loyal to the emperor to the point where she was one of the officers selected to recieve the contignency order.
For anyone that didn't go to the website for details, here's a brief summary. Pros -This will include a single player campaign. (A bad-ass empire one at that) -Multiplayer will now feature classes, vehicles, and ALL ERAS. -Space Battles are now once again a thing. -Heroes will be available from every era (Cross your fingers for Jar-Jar DLC) -Split Screen Co-Op -Larger customization Cons (So Far) -Battles will still be relatively small in comparison to previous titles. (40 player combat, 24 player space combat) -Older game modes related to the Battlefront series haven't been confirmed (Unlikely to be) -Micro-transactions almost certainly confirmed (Case-key style system likely, and not just for cosmetics) -Pre-ordering the special edition still gives the player some-what of an advantage (Unclear how large the advantage) Points of interest -Space battles (Unclear if they will be as the previous battlefront titles had them or if this'll just be Battlefront's fighter mode in a space setting) -Servers (Unclear if this'll still be peer-to-peer connection or dedicated servers, guessing by the scale of the multiplayer battles it's very likely peer-to-peer) -Micro-transactions (You know why) For the most part DICE has listened. Now let's all cross our fingers EA doesn't shit on our dreams, and remember kids no matter what don't hop on the hype train it could get real shaky towards the end.

BF1 is at least fun for the first 30 to 40 hours. By no means a great game, but the multiplayer does its part. Now Battlefront... There's literally nothing there.

Step 3: Campaign Step 4: Galactic conquest Step 5: No power ups especially for vehicles although the hero is reasonable for one. Step 6: Let vehicles have a pilot seat and secondary gunner seats. Step 7: SPACE BATTLES especially ones that take place over the Death Star, super star destroyer, and star killer base. Step 8: Space to ground battles. Step 9: make your two biggest game modes Space battles and Conquest. Step 10: CUSTOMIZATION NEEDS TO BE AMAZING Step 11: No season pass, every DLC is free, with the cost of having micro transactions like Character skins or XP boosters
Mighty Wolf 09 What I mean by that is like in the classic battlefront games how the tie bomber, Y-wings, snow speeders and a few more vehicles like that had two or more seats, and the second seat was usually a secondary gunner.
It's very compelling... Playing as a villain-not just out to RULE THE WHOLE TRI-STATE AREA or whatnot, but actually out to do something with a purpose... Vengeance. Vengeance against characters we grew up with-for a moment even we celebrated. This has potential to be loaded with feels.

Lucas Derp tbh it wouldnt have been better if we played a few more Imperial Missions and rebel ones even in place of the throw away hero missions (Luke and Kylo added to the story and canon, I guess they were acceptable) so we could have Iden develop and maybe turn towards the end. Rather then have her turn with no reason other then "omg there gonna blow up my planet and kill people even tho I didnt care when I was stationed on the Deathstar and we were scorching planets with no regard for life before!"

Empire Perpective my ass! What I was hoping to by looking at the trailer was real empire campaign. Fighting to protect Vardos which came under attack. Make a final stand on Jakku! This plot in the trailer is so much better
As soon as the starfighter "save the satellites" mission happened, I knew exactly where the story would go. No one would specifically withhold information so obviously unless it was used as a plot device. That's the second goddamn mission, and one mission later she turned. It was such a disappointment. Heck, even an episode in the Clone Wars did it better, when they showed that the separatist ambassadors in their "senate" had actual reasons for believing in their side and the subject of "no good, no evil", was touched upon (if only they weren't being manipulated by count dooku). They could have tried the same thing here, and it fell flat on its face instead and became one massive cliche

Avoid the whole "bad for the sake of being bad" kind of storytelling. Here's hoping.
If she is anythign like the Stormtrooper chick in the Battlefront novel she probably percieves the Empire as a force for peace and order. If her homeworld turns out ot have been a mess before the empire came it would also further cement her conviction. She also seems to be fanaticaly loyal to the emperor to the point where she was one of the officers selected to recieve the contignency order.

Step 6: Let vehicles have a pilot seat and secondary gunner seats.
Step 7: SPACE BATTLES especially ones that take place over the Death Star, super star destroyer, and star killer base.
Step 8: Space to ground battles.
Step 9: make your two biggest game modes Space battles and Conquest.
Step 10: CUSTOMIZATION NEEDS TO BE AMAZING
Step 11: No season pass, every DLC is free, with the cost of having micro transactions like Character skins or XP boosters
