To be fair, It is canon that Mace Windu doesn't wanna run the ones with Grievous in any sort of way because of his fighting style. He used that force attack specifically to avoid a confrontation with him, it portrays Mace as a tactician who knows to not confront Grievous, and it also solidifies Grievous as a threat. @@TheKoopaKingBowserWdym it's canon? When is it stated anywhere how Windu feels about the prospect of crossing lightsabers with Grievous? @Tim Woods as far as I know, I think the canon death for Shaak Ti (which in my opinion is the dumbest death for her) is when she’s meditating in the Jedi Temple when the clones are gunning everyone down and Anakin walks in to her chamber and stabs her from behind.

@@elmothestalker5148 Btw I think this is one of the most interesting battles in the Clone Wars era (at least between the Prelogy and the animes) because it show how different, well...consciousnesses can cope with dire situations. After all Shaak-ti's moves weren't that bad practically...lets just think about how much droids the Separatists lost on that occasion, and that Grievous almost let the victory seep out, and he still ended with a crippled chest... The interesting thing is that her character is repeating such goal over and over again, but in different patterns. Like, it's just hard to find ANY story in which she just retreats and lets some troops take the damage alone. I just cannot think about anyone now. This is just a strong definition about character traits.

This whole sequence really highlights what a massive troll Palps is, and I love it. The "let myself get kidnapped so Anakin will rescue me and get rid of Dooku while getting to the Dark Side," plan has to be one of the more delicate parts of his scheme, but he's still taking time to have fun at everyone's expense, and he's clearly enjoying every minute of it.

One thing I love about this version is that it shows you an idea on the true scale of the war that others just doesn't bring. Everything seems so small and localized in the clone wars etc, but this shows thousands and thousands of ships spanning across an entire planet and the amount of troops and droids there are.

mslink 333 It’s not completely clear if Palpatine made Anakin have those nightmares. It’s implied that Anakin has a special gift to see the future, but as we now know, that future is unchangeable. I like to believe that this moment implies that Grevious was intentionally kept out of the loop on Darth Sidious' true identity in case the Republic captured him
@@TheRealBlueLightning - So do I. The only people who knew of Palpatine's double play were his apprentices, Darth Maul and Count Dooku. He really trusted Grievous to obey his orders and not harm him, even in the middle of a battle and believing that Palpatine was the enemy.
That was a Space Marine who got lost on his way to Terra. He however saw Grievous and accepted the challenge. He also failed but couldn't resist. The Emperor should be proud.
I actually had this question posed to me by a coworker. Chainsword or lightsaber? It’s relevant because; could a lightsaber cut through a chainsword? Worth noting because if a chainsword is lightsaber resistant, then it’s a hard yet still kind even fight, if not it’s totally one sided.
It's a Kybuck that lives in the Jedi Gardens under the Temple. It doesn't have a name because Yoda doesn't believe in possessions so what right would he have to name his friend?

Everything Genndy touches is so sick. Literally cannot give this series enough praise. The silent moments just accented by lightsaber combat, the careful attention to giving even minor characters spotlight, the cinematography, just wow. This, Symbiotic Titan, Samurai Jack, Primal. I just love this mans work.
I’m trying to think about what you’re referring to as naval combat? The movies showed cannons that could be fired like broadsides but that was a venator and most of its major guns would be on the side or underneath as it was a carrier and it’s top side was for Star fighter deployment. Other SW ships had guns on the top and maneuvered to fight with their strong sides be that underneath or on top. They weren’t specifically broadsides fights. Hell in ep 1 the nemoidian transport ship was reconfigured to literally be an invasion ship and had guns covering every angle as well as a compliment of fighters. 2 all they had were acclimator troop carriers and 3 mainly was the battle above the planet. And in that one there were literally ships in every direction at every level. The only reason to make yourself a target with a large cross section is to do what they did here and evacuate a dying ship to a new one. 4 didn’t really have large ship to ship combat neither did 5 and I’d say 6 didn’t fight like they were on the water either they didn’t show much in the way of ship 2 ship combat but they weren’t all on one plane either that I remember.
@@adarkwind4712 I think he’s referring to how some of the newer Star Wars movies have the ships all lined up like they’re on a 2D plane, like the ocean

Windu's a stone cold badass and Grievous' reputation didn't make him lose his focus.
The scene where Palpatine is just casually watching the battle and drinking his morning coffee is just pure gold. Like he knows exactly how everything is suppose to go down he gives so little of a shit.

10:10 It sounds like a Clone Trooper is fighting Grievous with a chainsaw and that's metal as hell, this show rocked
Sounds he swung the chainsaw a few times, points for effort.
@@silversolitaire1519I'd put my money on the lightsaber
How so?
11:18 How the trooper takes his damn time to shoot Grievous just makes this scene too perfect
And the fact that everyone is just giving him the death stare
@@keithkania3810 And that Grievous is doing a ninja run

"i dont get paid enough for this shit"
Grievous just like: Hey buddy what cha doin there?
Clone: loading a missile.
Grievous: why- OH. Nope.
8:57 always makes me laugh.
General Grievous: Hello there!
Jedi: Ahh General Grievous you are a bold one!
I love how Yoda just casually has a space llama ready for battle, that's hella badass.
It's a Kybuck that lives in the Jedi Gardens under the Temple. It doesn't have a name because Yoda doesn't believe in possessions so what right would he have to name his friend?
I like how you are replying to the comments with tidbits of info and Star Wars lore. Very insightful actually.
JohnMrubenstein Thank you, very cool. Didn’t know that, mad respect for the Star Wars lore wizards.
I like how he has the sheer psychic power to apparently slam aircraft carrier sized star ships together but rides to battle on a goat like it's lord of the rings 😂
@@Mindwerkz Wasn't it also a gift from the wookies?
gotta love how it's "the city is under attack" bro the whole planet is the city
The city protect we must
Could you imagine invading a whole planet that's a city
@@Riken quite insane ahahaah
it’s a planet-wide city 😂 wait OH NO DONT R/WHOOSH ME PLEASE IM DUMB
Not exactly. Did you remember the ending of Episode 2? When Count Dokuu went to Corucant to see his master?
Which means Corucant is not made entirely of cities
Everything Genndy touches is so sick.
Literally cannot give this series enough praise. The silent moments just accented by lightsaber combat, the careful attention to giving even minor characters spotlight, the cinematography, just wow.
This, Symbiotic Titan, Samurai Jack, Primal. I just love this mans work.
He made so many amazing cartoons.
@@Seki1987 Right. I practically grew up on Dexter's Lab and PPGs, and having his more mature titles to continue watching is a gift to mankind.
King of action
Hotel Transylvania
Everytime I remember Sym-biotic Titan I cry, my favorite cartoon show ever and it was cancelled :(
Makes me wish that Genndy would make another animated Star Wars TV show with this style, but I’m glad that this one exists.
I would give just about anything for him to make a serious about Luke shortly before or after Return of the Jedi
Fun fact: Yoda's horse is probably a Jedi Master too.
Nah its just his pet.
@@pomeranianproductions647 no

@@samnielsen7114 im obviously joking, i didnt need a history lesson of what i already know nerd.
I like how this series actually understands how zero gravity works and doesn’t treat space combat like naval combat
I know right! This short animated series manages to do space combat better then almost all the movies
@@adarkwind4712 I think he’s referring to how some of the newer Star Wars movies have the ships all lined up like they’re on a 2D plane, like the ocean
are you joking ?
it's sad how this will be no longer the case in other SW movies or series , that sense of realism in a series with absolutely fantaisist technology
So funny to think that palpatine could have killed everyone on his own.
I chuckled when palpatin went up to grievous acting all innocent and frail
@@hizpanicGam3r yeah palpatine looked like he was having fun the whole time
This convoluted plan of his would’ve really backfired if a stray laser hit and killed him... Or if Grievous got sick of his shit on the way back.
Not if one of those jedi had dual welding stile, thanks Disney and Abrams now is Canon that Palpatine is weak to that
@Maxus Devasteitor he doesn't lose to Windu, he lets it happen because he sensed Anakin was close. He wanted him to witness it to turn him
