The most beautiful band ever. 😛
They were fantastic singers, all of them, with beautiful harmonies in their songs !
Best all female band of all time imho.
While there’s no doubting the obvious beauty of Hoffs and the Petersons, I’ve always thought Ms. Steele is the most amazing beauty in the group.
Just listen "Let it Go", It's just perfect. Music, lyrics and harmonies. They all wrote that song♥
''In Your Room'' one of my favs.
@@carolain183 I agree with you. After they fired their first producer David Kahne who also made them sing together, the trouble started
Something to believe in, with Michael Steele singing, is the most beautiful song they ever did, in my opinion. right up there with Eternal flame, but more haunting and moving.
The ex-head of the RNC? Really?
@@CharlesUibel No, a different one, this one is a female, bassist & vocalist for the Bangles, and probably not a Republican
Yes, absolutely! There's something so mesmerizing about "Something to Believe In." Michael Steele's voice makes it feel so raw and real. It's definitely one of their most beautiful songs, and it really stays with you long after it's over.
I liked "Following You" more - also with Michael on the lead vocals.
@@bricefleckenstein9666 I feel the same way! Michael's voice gives 'Following You' a unique charm. It's definitely one of my favorites too!
Good thing the narrator kept saying the 'female' members, otherwise I wouldn't have known who he was talking about
You noticed that too, huh? I think this is an AI production.
Wokey wokey
Yes, if it wasn't for that I would have continued thinking that it was the male members of the Bangles that had issues with each other. Glad to have that cleared up for me!
🤣🤣🤣
There was a male bass player after Micki Steele and Abby Travis (2008-2016), he was Derrick Anderson until the return of Annette. Even Matthew Sweet played the bass in Through Your Eyes (Sweet Hearth of The Sun). In addition, there is a controversial photo, 2015? 2018?, of Michael Steele, is (s)he Micki? She has not been heard from in 20 years. She was my fav. Nowadays, modern generations have no problem talking about dysphoria but once it was not like that. Nothing is known about what really happened after 2005.
However, if there was any metamorphosis, it happened after she definitively left the band.
I had a crush on Susanna Hoffs as a young man. I still love her and I'm 52 now.
You got to love AI. when they say The Mamas and the Papas, like they're two different bands LOL
LOL I noticed that !
A really decent little band The Bangles, and Suzanna Hoffs !!! Wow 🔥🔥😍😍😋
Decent? You're braindead
I think their cover of Hazy Shade of Winter is my favorite.
One of the few covers I count as better than the original.
Though I also love the original.
The name they wanted for the band was 'The Bang', but was already taken by a group in New Jersey.
Personally, the name 'Bangles', by having a female connotation to it, made more sense.
An interview with Hoffs, she said when they needed to change from The Bangs, she said they just added "les" to the end as a nod to The Beatles.
FANTASTICHE BANGLES !!!!!!!!!!!!
Michael Steel was my favorite. She has strong features that have soft edges.
steele is a man
@@BrianDangelo-ey4uw One handsome guy🤣😂
@@keeneyes2573Her possible gender dysphoria does not mean that she was born a man and that when she sang with The Bangles she was a man. It's a mental condition.
I, too, like the Mamas. And also the Papas.
Love this article! The Bangles have made an indelible mark in the music scene of the 80s. These photos help me see a piece of music history that I love, and are also a great way to explore untold stories.
I love Rush, and Dream Theater, and Yes, but I also love The Bangles , Debbie Gibson, John Denver, and Glen Campbell, all kinds of music from heavy & prog rock to sucky pop music, as long as it's real music, good is good !
Best woman band of 1980s
I love ❤️ the Bangles choir. They'll own a piece of my heart forever 🎉😊 Thank you for all the music 🎶 🎵 over the years. The vocals, the harmonies, the musical talents, wow😊
Just wish they wouldn't have listened to the outside world. The main singer always gets more attention than the others (unless your last name is Van Halen). The differences bands have is EXACTLY why KISS made solo albums. This way, they could express themselves individually but still keep the band together. I loved this group when I was younger. Just wish they could have kept it together and turn deaf ears to critics and the press.
While I appreciate Hoffs talent, I always enjoyed all their music. I particularly liked Vicki Peterson but found it hard to separate any of them.
I like what they are wearing now (don't Change, I like what they are now)
The bangles would never be anything without Susanna . She is the most talented and most star power by far
I agree
...and Sue would never be anything without them. Surely no hits over 150 mln of views.
@ hmmm… I think I have to agree 🤔
Nothing against Susanna. But I wonder if it is possible that so many fans don't realize how important (fundamental) the others were.
Are there other members in Bangles?
I've only seen Susanna...
They where inspired by the mamas and also the papas.
I didn’t see any rare photos ?
Susan must have been on a step stool for this photo.
International success, and chicks still can't get along. Anyhow, Michael Steele was my favorite, she looks equally good on stage as she would riding in my '55 Chevy.
All smoking hot!!
You should know by now that there are no bikini pics here
Haha. I knew it. I haven't watched the video, just went straight to the comments. I watched the Heart video that showed Ann and Nancy wearing bikinis in the thumbnail and lo and behold, no bikini shot in the video!! False advertising if you ask me. Thanks for posting and saving me time.
Why do you keep referring to “female members”? They are all female. You are implying there are male members.
Wow!
Definitely the :
1st all Rocking FEMALE band for me.

Computer-generated voice narration--no thanks; I'm gone.
Just ran across this channel and I will say that I will never watch any videos on it due to the fake clickbait thumbnails, thumbs down.
Sorry girls, but Suzzanna Hoffs is 10x cuter than you good looking girls...she's pretty and cute.
Clickbait thumbnail. Thumbs down.
Yes. But why ... True lie?
Get it right, Walk like an Egyptian aired in late 1979 on the University Air waves , I was there, created an Egyptian party Theme around the song, on campus in the early part of the winter 2nd semester 1st year at WLU, Waterloo, ON Canada C.H Little House, in the Party Room Third floor. This song was released in 1985, yeah maybe as a single.... that song was on the air waves way earlier.
WALKING LIKE AN EGYPTIAN SOUNDS LIKE FUN - VERY INTERESTING - I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE ONE OF THOSE GIRLS COME OVER TO MY PLACE TO TEACH HOW TO DO IT . THEN WE CAN GO OUT ON A DATE TO THE LUXOR RESORT IN LAS VEGAS AND GO DANCING EGYPTIAN STYLE .
Who the hell name a girl Michael???????????????????
Exactly now if it had been Mica or Michalia the famine form of Michael
It's a stage name she chose.
I have an idea why she chose it. Of course I don't have proof. I was intrigued by her prolonged disappearance from the scene and from real life. Whatever the real reason for her choice of stage name and her disappearance, I have studied and learned many things starting from this story.
Before this story I didn't know what dysphoria was and the major depression it can cause. I didn't know that some people who are not absolutely crazy are uncomfortable with their sex and some even with their limbs (xenomelia). I mistakenly thought that a transgender was a person with characteristics of two sexes, hermaphrodite instead of a 100% beautiful woman who however wanted to be born and be a man or vice versa. You never stop learning even after 60
@giampaolo1647 oh I didn't know she chose it
Also hate to hear that she may be mentally ill and want to be a man.... that's horrible.
@@keven8047Since 2018, dysphoria is no longer considered a mental illness by the World Health Organization.
The mamas. And The papas
Your transitions are very distracting
I slept with all 4 Bangles.
Many repeats here. Very sloppy
Where’d you get that thumbnail from?
just like the band Styx keep your mouth shut play the music and sign the back of the checks
Your AI keeps mentioning the 'female' members. Put to one side that makes them sound like sheep or horses or something, where are the 'males'? I always thought the Bangles was an all woman band?
Also, The Mamas AND the Papas? Not just the Mamas alone, or the Papas as a solo project, but the Mamas AND the Papas?
Well, Susie was the shortest...and she had 'those eyes'...not to mention attraction from Prince. But it was sad that tension came to the group. They really did have some terrific songs. Personally, I enjoyed their greatest hits album and used it as one that filled my car with music as I drove back and forth to my Oregon property. I think I had 8 albums that carried me up a very long drive-alone-on 15 hour drives. Funny thing is, they had already broken up before I began really listening to them. Didn't they start in their garage in Burbank? I was especially amazed with their production of a Paul Simon song. It's hard to improve on anything he did; but that's exactly what they accomplished!. Anyway, I believe I saw that they were all happily married. So be happy for them. The press makes up nasty stories to sell things. Good old family values carry no weight at all among musicians...good on all of these musicians.
This review is so effed up, totally wrong with the facts, so sad
If some smart person would have promoted Fanny back in the 70s i dont know if bands like the Bangles or the GoGos would have been as popular as they became.
Or the girl groups that came after Fanny might have been even bigger if Fanny had been promoted properly, who can really say?
True lie? Not real photo?
michael huh wat?
Nothing new here.
What a load of rehashed bollocks.
They weren't very good. The lead singer was sexy but that's about it. Then again this channel, like this "band" is really aimed at Pop culture drones.
clickbait
Erm, Russians made this video? Probably not, so where did they (as usual) steal it from??? Comment on your own peril...
bla blaHHHHHHHHH blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Half of the bangl3s came out of the runaways,,joan jett , they never spoke again , the original bassist was an alcoholic addict
Only Michael Steele came from the Runaways. Where did you read that Annette Zilinskas was an addict? BTW she's been the bassist for them since 2014 and made a full member in 2018.
i cry foul. steele is a man. prove me wrong,,,,please
Humm... no disagreement there. What about that drummer?
Steele was a woman, her real name was Susan but ......... her choice to have a male stage name, her sudden and inexplicable depressive crises that were the cause of her premature departure from The Runaways (as West and Currie declared on an interview 2000) and successive periods during the bangles broke up and during a tour, her ghosting of fans without writing a word after her retirement in 2004 are all possible symptoms of incongruence, dysphoria that at the time would have been difficult or almost impossible to explain to the fans.
