I have a Z8, this is the do all camera, it has the speed and IQ nice build..I do sport photography I'm lucky enough to have the lenses that I really need so I dont need to crop much of all.. but for 90% of the still shooters out there be honest you really dont need anything more than a z6i or ii,, you dont need the speed, you are not looking for a bigger body... As far as I'm concerned the Z8 will probably be my last main camera body untill I need to replace it with another one..yep the camera is that good!! Save your money and do the smart thing invest in good Nikon glass, you will never regret that
Frames, Panasonic has been doing this sort of thing over the years, creating products slightly ahead of the market that is misunderstood by the masses. In that vein, they seem to focus on that area which they feel is of more importance and letting others be just middling. The EVA 1 and S1H are 2 examples, great image quality, video features, audio but, so-so autofocus. They had great dynamic range before it became a buzz word in the YT space, offered Log recording, again another thing that YT shooters talk about today. We now have camera to cloud features for professional shooters, film simulation, realtime LUTs, etc., Panasonic just made a “pricey” point and shoot. They gave it the sensor and IBIS system of one of their popular cameras and made the body so you can swap out lens if you desire, it’s small, doesn’t have a ton of buttons, that will appeal to folks that don’t like DSLRs or Mirrorless and just want to keep things simple. The LUMIX S9 may end being another misunderstood Panasonic product, which becomes a cult classic.

I think when this camera is released, it will do well and hopefully instill some more confidence in the Nikon Z brand. I have the Z8 myself (and Zf) so I won't be buying a Z6 III myself (as the Z8 pretty much does everything I need it to) but I'm sure that the Z6 III satisfy many hold-outs waiting for an update and this should also help propel Nikon forward even further and maybe even win back some of the former Nikon shooters who maybe have switched.
My dream camera would be the Z6iii specs with the Z8 body. I’m also hoping for a Z Log 2. I feel like Z Log is a good first attempt at log but it’s seriously lacking behind Sony and canon log profile. It needs to be a more expose to the right log profile. I would like to see an updated Mc-n10 remote grip with rechargeable battery and a locking usb c cable port.
I mentioned the shipping container shortage and the ongoing war in Ukraine and Mideast and I was informed that this was nonsense because they fly the valuable equipment. Personally I have been getting things rapidly except with some products that are sold out everywhere. Cheers!

If the Z8 was the size and weight of the Z7ii I'd buy it but it's not so I'm waiting for either a Z8ii or a Z7iii. HOPEFULLY this year as the Z6ii and the Z7ii were released at the same time too.

Your argument about using old d750 is faulty either. Z6 has a much better autofocus than a d750. Many wedding photographers that has youtubr channel can atest on this. D750 is crap when it come to video. z6 specially z6ii is night and day better than a d750.

@@angeloplayforonenew gen sensor is better in low light. Shadow recovery is way better than an old sensor. Saw a comparison against d850 and z6ii kills d850 in terms of shadow recovery. It will surely kill d750. Great Autofocus makes the photographer work much easier and efficient. Great moments can be captured much more easily. It means hit rate is better in z6 and more usable photos. Yes d750 can capture great photos like a z6 but for sure you missed more moments with it. Wedding is a one time event. Theres no take 2 thats why more and more weeding photographers use z series camera or mirrorless camera now a days

This is great news. I can justify upgrading my Z6 ii to the Z6 iii. I can’t make that same justification for the Z8. I’m just an amateur.
I sold z6, waiting for z6iii. I didn't buy the z8 because it's big and heavy like the d810.
