    Frames, can you compare the new 50mm F1.4 to the 58mm F1.4G?

    Good review! Excellent points. Subscribed. So you believe the 1.8 has more separation than the 1.4 despite being slower, because of the coatings?

      I think it comes down to clearer sharper image in focus and soft bokeh.. it creates that look of better separation

    The 1.8 is a stunning lens in terms of value for money and with regards to image quality and sharpness. At that price point, it's kind of a unicorn. I haven't tried the 1.4, but I'm always pro bright glass for more light when needed.

    Im intrigued by the 1.4 as i shoot a lot of people stuff and would prefer 1.4. Im mostly interested in the 35 1.4 whuch seems similar to the 50mm 1.4.

      I've been using the z35mm 1.4 for a month or so. Absolutely love it.

    Very nice and thorough comparison. The f/1.4 seems to be very good value. Only wish it had less fringing and loCA. I wonder how it performs in comparison to some of the recent third-party options.

      Thank you! Third party 1.4 lenses are yet to appear for the Z mount though! Sigma seems to be not in the Z system

    Great review. You did not give answer in conclusion for first lens should one pick 1.4 or 1.8s.

    Ngl I've been racking my head around this for weeks now and I still can't decide... like do I really need the 1.4? I do like the control ring. but I also like the metal ring on the 1.8. Hard choice when you can get. both for around the same price.

    which focuses faster, the 35mm f1.4 or the 1.8s?

    • @FramesTM
      @FramesTM  2 месяца назад +1

      Well, speed is same for both I felt. Have a look there are a lot of focus tests in this video and let me know what you think

    Its a cheaper build thus lesser image than the 1.8,,,sure its f1.4 but too many quirky image faults why sell my superior f1.8
