  • Red Avadavats, in wild i saw them feed mainly on grass seeds, millet and rice paddy. They can feed on insects and termites too.
    In captivity, these birds prefer feeding on green leafy vegetables, fruits, mealworms, fruitfly larva, wax worms.
    Normally this finch is seen in small flocks, flying with rapid wing beats and descending into grass dumps where they are hard to observe.
    During the breeding season, pairs come out of the group and start to live saperate. Male and female stay together,
    In this post I've put only a male foraging on grass land alone, It need to have more food, for to capable of building nest, incubating.
    In next of my post i will post both male and female forage together.
