You're definitely wasting time you did not need to remove that bumper but hey I guess that's how the shops make money
You don't have to remove bumper to change sensor.

Just take the bottom plate off, no need to take the bumper cover off.

$30 part, but costs $150 in labor thanks VW....

Yes. I'm working on an ac right now and the ambient temperature sensor wires are dangling on the bottom and sensor is completely missing.

Not the same. Passat B8 2015 sensor is located approximately front left middle. Sensor got long wire easy to remove
