- Byte av yttertemperatursensor på Passat B8 08.2014-.
Verktyg torx 20.
Ny tempsensor reservdelsnr 3G0820535B.
Thanks for the video. Small tip, when you change the sensor, you have to drive the car for about 15 minutes for the sensor to read the correct value. Because if you just replace the sensor, it will read the value from the previous sensor. You can also test the old sensor by measuring the resistance of both sensors with an ohmmeter. For example, if the old sensor reads a lower temperature than the actual one, it should have a higher resistance compared to the new sensor. I hope I helped someone 🙂
Thanks alot! I noticed that the sensor was just hanging completely loose, with accurate tempreading though.
This video helpt me to put cables and sensor back into correct position. No tools needed. Acessable through the grille.
Tack så mycket!! 😊
Thanks for the video. I just fixed mine, kudos to your video and the other video from a German guy. Unlike others in the comment section that had to drive for 15 minutes before the sensor registered the correct reading, mine picked up the correct reading immediately (the old one was reading 10 degrees below the normal temperature). I guess it all boils down to the quality of the replacement sensor? I can share the link where I bought mine in case anyone needs the exact one I installed.
Installation tip: In case you don't have a camera that can see through a tiny space, this is what I did. I made a whatsapp video call from my two phones, I was using one phone as a view finder, while using the other phone's screen to locate the sensor. You don't have to use whatsapp, but I believe you get the idea.
Thank you for the video.
I've changed mine today, but without unscrewing any bolt. You can change it from the front of the car without opening the bonnet
Howwwww haha
Hello, anyone can help? I had a problem with the temperature reading and now all of a sudden, the park pilot signal, aswell as the temperature and front assist signal are all simultaneously on. Does anyone know what the issue could be?
Anyone knows if the aircon uses this sensor?
Interesting. I have a Passat B8 2015 that’s new to me and the ext temp sensor is way out. Reads about 10-15C lower than actual temp
Same problem. I just bought new sensor from VW and going to change sensor tomorrow. Hopefully new sensor will fix the problem
@@Samppa119 - Good luck! I fitted my new one and it read incorrectly to begin with, but then drifted towards correct temp over a period of about 15mins driving. It seems OK now.
@@daveys Okay, good to know, so driving needed afterwards. Was that module difficult to remove and change to new one? Because at least in video you don't really see how's connector locks to it's place nor senso, you just need to feel and see it through grill somehow. Is it more like clinking to position?
@@Samppa119 - It’s a bit fiddly because the part is behind the bumper section. Just feel carefully for it be careful with the retaining clip and it’s not too difficult to replace. The wires seem a bit stingy on the lengths, so it’s a lot of fingertip work. The sensor itself will come out of it’s mounting quite easily with a little wiggle.
I Took off the 4 screw but can't remove the front panel....???
Is there another screw somewhere.
Ok I have now removed it. You just need to wiggle the panel from right to left to loosing up a bit , then pull the panel straight toward you holding the panel from the bottom, 1 hand on the right 1 hand on the left.
Pull the panel.
The change is easy but to unclipped the main cable as per video you need to use a screwdriver to release the part. Same for the sensor bit .. use a screwdriver to push the little plastic hooks out from the sensor part.
I had to drive about 15 minutes to get the temperature coming right. Easy enough to change but cable is very short.. thanks for the video. Does anyone know where is the A/C pressure sensor located. Is that tge one on the little aluminium pipe near the fuel filter. My a/c does fonction only now and then and was told to change that pressure sensor. ( pressostat in french)
Thanks
Do you know why after removing and putting back , my park pilot it’s not working anymore 🤔
Can a mirror defroster fail because of that sensor ? No error message, however the defroster is not working, and the outside temp is showing around 20-25 degres more than actuall
As far as I know the defroster works only below 7 celsius or something like that. It is in the manual somewhere. So I would say it is the problem. You can check it if the rear window defroster does the same.
Yes! Many things will stop working if the temperature is not right.
In my situation, the sensor was reading 40 celsius when outside were 2.
The heated mirrors didn't work, heated windscreen and back glass.
Did you repleace it?
@@Szuriamb yes
Everything is normal now.
@Szuriamb Yes, simple replace, I have a small hands so I did it from the front side without dismounting anything
In 5 min changed thanks save me from mechanic
Takk!
