Very nice lesson. I like how you use the word "pinch" to describe the picking technique. It helped me envision what I should be doing and made the song easier to learn. Thank you.
I used to be heavy into rock, but these past 3 years I’ve kinda grown from it and stayed on acoustic and more finger picking songs, especially music like Simon and Garfunkel. I find their songs to be quite easy to play personally
A good basic rendition. However during the intro you have that Cmaj7 flourish with the high G note(speaking as if the capo wasn't on), instead of just the C. One of the tougher movements to pull off to make it sound like Paul Simon does.
Great tutorial. I am sure I will master this, Do you think you could refer to bar numbers when breaking down finger technique, As an early player I have to practice a bar at a time and would find it easier to match to the tab.
Hey Drue love the tutorials you have helped me so much I was wondering if you could do one on shakey graves roll the bones ? I would realy appreciate it . Thanks :)
Please do tutorials on songs by Phillip Phillips. Especially ' Where We Came From ' from his album ' The World From The Dark Side Of The Moon '. I'm sure you'll like them!
Not sure why everyone on RUclips keeps referring to this song as 'Bookends' when I have the sheet music from many many moons ago and it's called 'Old Friends'. You teach it without the Old Friends beginning. I'm confused. Can you help clarify this please? Thank you for the lesson. You're obviously a good teacher.

Glad it helped, Charles!
My favourite fingerpicking song so far, and not difficult to learn because of your teaching. Thank you

Hey Drue I love your videos!
Can you please make a fingerstyle tutorial of something by Muse? Anything by them would be absolutely fantastic!
Alessandro Fordham Thanks for watching Alessandro. Muse is a great suggestion. Just got to think of a good song that would work in fingerstyle.
Drue James I was thinking that Unintended from Showbiz could be a great Muse fingerstyle song.
Alessandro Fordham Yes, that could work. It's a great ballad.

Siddharth Bhambure Hey, thanks for the song recommendation. A few people have suggested his music. I'll give that song a listen.

13thAMG In the album, the Bookends Theme plays at the start of the album and at the end of side one, after Old Friends, and is a separate track.
Didn't give the closing chord (a Cmaj7, I believe).
