Hi, Is there a way to give once and not monthly ? If there is I didn't understand how to do it. Although I created a patreon account just fot that :( Thanks anyway!
There’s a ton of RUclips guys out there teaching songs, but I always come back here. Most complete and easily understood lessons out there. Thanks for all you do!
My daughter gave me an Alveraz acoustic after 25 years of not playing, im back to getting my finger tips toughened then I will learn this song! I just hope these hands can do what I see you doing! Thank you for the lesson
Probably the best tutorial I have seen for this song. You have done a great job in simplifying things, going at a nice easy pace and slowing things down I appreciate that. Thank you kind sir
The perfect instructional lesson. I've played for 50+ years and usually grab a few hints from these tutorials. Just watching you play it, in the beginning, was enough for me, but the voicing of the "G chord slipped up 2 frets" was perfect. Paul Simon (out of C's and G's) and James Taylor (almost always out of "D") have little signature hammer on-pull offs that they use; mine are similar. But I see how this would help newer guitar players as well. Travis picking is a little more difficult. I warm up to Doc Watson almost every day. Windy and Warm would be a great tutorial as well. Tommy E. has one, but he's in a different space. Thanks for helping.
At 1:35 with subtitles on, it's translated to "My father's gaping hole" instead of "...my thoughts escaping..." You run into these golden comedy moments and you just don't know what to say
Nice and clearly explained. Been playing this song for over 50 years but never was sure about that chorus riff, I used an F Em Dm progression to do it. Thanks for clearing that up.
Wow! I just stumbled onto your page here looking for a lesson of this song. Your instruction is the perfect blend of professionalism and courtesy. You seem so patient, exactly what I need. Thank you for doing this for us.
Thanks for this and the other Paul Simon/Simon and Garfunkel lessons. I love the way you break everything down and structure your lessons to make it easy to understand. I've struggled learning this and other songs up till now. Thanks again so much.
you are a great teacher... a lot of sight just run through it without showing some of the cords that you don't normally use. and slowing it down is another plus. your lessons are worth every penny you charge and more. keep the great work up my friend... you are making a lot of people's dreams come true............. another thing, i like the way you do after teaching a couple of section you will combined them together so we can see how they sound together.. that's something most people won't do.......
Hey Buddy, thanks for your positive feedback, glad you're picking up and appreciating the smaller details to my teaching style. Breaking things up and connecting them in bits has helped me so much in my own progress, and I hope that my viewers start to adopt that learning technique.
Amazing tutorial , doesn't make the mistake of going too slow like nearly every tut online !! End of the day people who can PLAY want to learn stuff too ! Lol . Plus it's very accurate sounding and just think this guy is a great teacher and player . Thanks for this . I'm Enjoying singing the Harmony over it too . Simon n g were vocal genius like the Beatles were .
Thank you soo much!!! This is my absolute favourite song by Simon&Garfunkel and i've wanted to learn it for so long. Now i finally got it down, thank you so much!
I don't usually comment on guitar tracks but this is a great tutorial so far, perfect pacing to see exactly what strings are picked and very impressed didn't rush the intro or keep repeating over it. Nice work, will defo check out other covers. And in the right key as well! Brill.
Good job my friend. I think it's time to show us how to play "KATHY'S SONG", from the same authors, since I have always some little doubts about particular chords used in a couple of parts of the track. Thanx and have a nice day
Been following you for couple of weeks now. You make learning fun, your singing before the lessons are a pretty nice bonus! Thank you, def gonna a Patreon now. If You havent yet, Leader of the Band by Dan Fogelberg would be nice fingerpicking song to learn. Thank you
love the way you play this song haven't played it in a long time. I do the intro a little different than you do, but either your or my way works I will have to tackle this song again and learn your picking patterns awesome video
Hey Eddie, thanks for reaching out, so glad you enjoyed learning this tune, it's still one of my favorites to play. I'm hoping to get back to teaching Simon and Garfunkel soon, feel free to drop a request at Swiftguitar.com/request. Thanks!
Thanks so much Claudio! I really appreciate the positive feedback, i'll be sure to keep the lessons coming both here and via Patreon.com/Swiftlessons. Be well! -Rob
Hey Ken, my pleasure, I’m always very excited to break down Paul Simon tunes. Many more lessons are on the way, both here and via patreon.com/Swiftlessons. Keep checking in and please share! Thanks. -Rob
He may do it, too. When I started transcribing this song, I also put capo on the second fret. But then I discovered this live video ruclips.net/video/m0oJ8_VTu3c/видео.html&ab_channel=SimonGarfunkelVEVOv and changed my mind. It's a bit easier, too. Cheers)
Thank you so much for this great lesson for a great song. It really pushed me to my top level of playing but I got it down in a couple of days. A really clear tutorial.
1:22...He actually only plays the bass note 3 times on the movable D and hits the G with the 4th downbeat bass note when playing live at Central Park. I know annoying.
Great job! I really liked this. Could you please do "Sounds of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel. I have subscribed and will be happy to be a patron. You have a great selection of songs and you are very talented.
You have to do the 59th street bridge song btw you are one of my favourite guitar lesson channels on RUclips, you teach a lot of songs no one else does

This guy always projects an enthusiasm and generosity of spirit that is off the charts. And he's a fantastic teacher.
It’s just a pity that his guitar playing is quite awful.
I agree..

Fantastic rendition. Love the singer songwriter stuff .. keep em comin.. Some Jackson Browne would be much appreciated.
Great job! I really liked this. Could you please do "Sounds of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel. I have subscribed and will be happy to be a patron. You have a great selection of songs and you are very talented.
You have to do the 59th street bridge song btw you are one of my favourite guitar lesson channels on RUclips, you teach a lot of songs no one else does
thank you
Isn’t in E major though instead of the Em here?
Beautiful! Mrs Robinson please.
Is this in the original key? good lesson BTW
I'm not sure about the Em in the verse, sounds like an E to me on the record.
Sorry I wrote comment for Boxer song instead of here... Great lesson! Just one thing.... the chord is E major instead of minor as a dominant to A minor.... It is like that in the original recording and it sounds much better :))
Hi there. Great video. Could you please give more info on the model of Phillips recorder you are using, and the attachment. I'm trying to find both on Amazon. Many thanks.
He has now put a link to Philips under the video, above. here in europe they are sold by thomann for about 300euros
Are you sure that on that rundown during the verses it goes to an Em? I'm hearing E7. Just wondering. Thanks
Me too. Pretty certain it's major
Agree. I positive it's the major and not minor
Great one!!!
Thank you, one of my all time favorites!
really sounds cool and your amazing voice makes it even better.
