Thank you, Joanna, for being so generous with your knowledge. I'd like to know more about the business side of things, like when do you know to scale up and what tools differ for each stage when scaling up. I make artisan soaps (vs. everyday soaps), so the top isn't always the same height. I'd still like to have boxes so the overall look is neat and professional. I also do wholesales to couple stores. Thank you :)

Great things! There's really no right way to do it, but whatever works best for you and your demand/budget. I had the gift of having a super large purchase order that forced me to buy bigger equipment to meet demand. You can also make purchases over time if you do eventually want to scale.
It really depends on how you plan to make your soaps. If you want to keep it artisan, you'll likely want to eventually move into a dough pan and get a log splitter. This way you can triple your loaf production. Tilting pots also help with mixing and pouring large batches! Hope that helps!

Hello. Thank you for sharing all of your tips. I would love to see the different machines and tools you use. Also packaging on this type of scale. What does it look like? How long did it take for you to get to this successful place? Love your content. It’s fresh. What would you recommend to someone small time, trying to scale up? What do you do? Where do you go? Did you get help creating your business plan? Thank you in advance. ❤

Joanna, Thank you sharing your knowledge. I intend to start a soap business. Please I dont want to be that lady who did not invest in a soap making school or course before starting my business. My gut feeling tells me to try a hands on direct approach . And thats what I hope to do. Please where did you learn how to make soap first? My second question is can you really recommend a solid approved program for soap making here in the US. 3) I noticed you talked about using goats milk in your earlier days. Why did you stop using goat milk ? are there other alernatives.
Also, where did you get your bath bomb machine made, or where did you buy them? Do you require a special set of skills to learn how to make bath bombs?
I pray for more success for you. You do this with your full heart and all the soap loving people we really look up to you.
    Thank you.

Thanks so much for reaching out! At this time I am not familiar with any soap making schools as I learned everything on my own. However, I am planning to launch a course this spring. I stopped using goats milk because I had to get rid of my goats. I still love goats milk as an ingredient. With the scale I'm at, that means large batch refrigeration. It's doable, but only if you're doing high volumes of a goats milk recipe. Most of my private label clients are vegan which is why I don't currently use it. My bath bomb press is from soapequipment.com and bath bombs do not require special skill, just dedication to quality and detail. May God bless you on your journey!!

I would like to see a focused video on each item you make. So, perhaps the soap making could go from eqiptment you might have at home to the large equipment you need to scale the business. Even the expensive equipment. I am very interested. Same thing for bath bombs and other products you make. Show the progression. ❤
